It was a night of Garrett Crochet. The White Sox starting pitcher tossed 7.0 innings, setting a new career-high 13 strikeouts and allowing only 1 run on 2 hits. Tonight’s dominant performance brings his season strikeout total up to 116, tied for the Major League lead. His 12.63 K/9 leads all qualified pitchers.
Crochet’s run support was brought by Andrew Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. In the top of the 3rd inning, the pair launched back-to-back homer runs to center field to put the Sox up 2-0.
In the bottom of the 5th, Garrett Crochet’s lone earned run came on a Tyler Locklear home run, which cut the Sox lead in half.
Mariners weren’t done yet. Julio Rodríguez hits a home run in the bottom of the 9th. For the second straight day, the game would go to extra innings.
With Korey Lee on third base, who advanced from second on a Nicky Lopez single, Andrew Vaughn notchs a RBI ground out to Seattle’s third baseman. Lee would score and put the Sox back on top.
Tanner Banks slams the door in bottom of the 10th inning with only 9 pitches. He struck out 2 and earned the save.
John Brebbia and Michael Koepch each also fanned 2 in their relief appearance.
The Chicago White Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington.

White Sox need to keep Crochet. He is a beast and he's leading the league in strike-outs right now 💯

Crochet does seem to have proven himself, not that it is ensured that his success will continue. But I agree, he is not to be traded. He will be 25 next week, so you know barring injury he should have another 10 years minimum left on an effective career. In about 2 or 3 years, the Sox should begin feeling the benefits of their farm system. You want Crochet to be around when that happens.

@@MFPhoto1 Yankees inquired about this boy, but they refused to give up their prospect spence jones. That boy isn't even a major leaguer while this boy already is an allstar.

Crochet will stay , but Luis idk because he’s extremely injury prone. We need to get rid of him for young durable batters.

If they can get a great haul for Jr., trade him. When it's tough to play a 100 games a year, it's useless to be an All Star on the bench.

Thats what a Smart team would do but the Sox are RETTARDDED. The dumbest cheapest team in MLB

@@Sneakycastro69 Robert is not as injury prone as Jimenez. I am sure after the All-Star break there would be some contender willing to take a chance on Jimenez staying healthy, but with his health issues, I am not sure what kind of a deal the Sox would get.

The Sox should have had a few more hits and an extra run or two, but blame Arizona's defense for that. Does anyone else believe that Kopech should not be a closer?

Human umpires probably cant follow guys throwing that hard but you dont want them forced to pitch up because that's very dangerous.
