This is amazing. The fighting, the emotions. Damn!!! Disney really shot themselves in the foot with their new "canon". Kylo Ren and Rey aren't real Jedi. They're jokes. These guys, though; they're the real deal. I've been a fan of Revan ever since I played KOTOR. Thank you for this. And you really captured Exar Kun's essence. Guy was a crazy motherfucker. How many Jedi/Sith do you know who would pull out a lightsaber buried in their chest and still be ready to have a go at their opponent? Wish you'd have somehow managed to bring his Sith amulet into this, and momentarily flip the tide of the duel, but honestly, amazing work.

in my opinion, i'd say that exar kun is one of the few people who could actually stand up to revan like this. revan, being a follower of both the light side and the dark side, became immensely powerful as a result.

Three statements that need to be said. 1) Darth Revan is (at least in my personal opinion, yes because he is my number 1 FAVORITE) the GREATEST Star Wars character EVER! 2) That’s how you fight someone with a double bladed lightsaber properly. 3) Did Revan remember to grab his other lightsaber (the purple one) after his fight was done? You have to remember that the voiceover used is the redeemed Revan after the destruction of the Star Forge. So that lightsaber represents more of what Revan was at that time than his red offhand lightsaber

My big problem with it is that Exar Kun’s lightsaber hilt is too long. It’s double bladed, sure, but it’s still only as long as a normal lightsaber and he’s most often shown wielding it single handed. Still, not bad!

While the trakata features of the archaic saberstaff I have no problems with, that short hilt length I just found to be utterly stupid cause one handing a staff is far more of a crutch than others may think, lack of different attacks to incorporate, dexterity gets hurt even if you try to use two hands on the archaic saberstaff and given how the hilt looks and built it seems more of a pain to keep a good grip on and holding the saber too lightly could not only lead to being disarmed but a defend or counter from the opponent could cause the second blade to hit the user. And before someone says” what about revan using jarkaii dual weapon fencing or when kao den darach one handed a saberstaff”, both were using two weapons at once rather than just only using a saberstaff in one hand and kao cen darach while getting a good strike with the saberstaff against vindican didn’t really use it in an aggressive offensive manner as kun tends to be in the comics, instead using it in balance with his regular lightsaber and more so in a defensive and counter manner reacting to his opponents unlike kun who’d want to be the more proactive fighter. Now while I admit that I don’t like exar kun, I honestly found him annoying, I don’t really see him as a crappy duelist and his use of niman is sound, but that weapon is just so dumb because of that hilt length being so short.

@@MusicFan752 Yes in a conventional sense exar kuns lightsaber seems counter intuitive but exar kun was anything but conventional. His lightsaber was primarily used with a single blade and could be wielded with a one or two handed grip but used the second blade as tool to gain the upper hand. It was not just a dual blade lightsaber. It was its own beast entirely. The ability to change size, intensity, use one or both blades, switch from side to side all on a whim was what made it so powerful in the hands of a experienced tactician that knows war is deception and that predictability is death. Changing the size of either blade independently during a fight would make any skilled adversary wary as you dont know when a thrust will extend and hit your arm after being blocked or getting in close to try to negate the reach advantage only to have it shorten now giving exar kun advantage. The true deadly power of his lightsaber was its ability to change intensity. High power could cut through any lightsaber resistant material and would seem to be what would be the most powerful between the options of high and low intensity and would make one wonder why he would even include a low intensity function at all... Until you realize what that low power function truly did. It created a beam that looked no different than normal but offered no resistance or damage. This takes trakata to a completely new level. Someone familiar with trakata would be able to somewhat be prepared for the style and compensate but without being able to tell the saber has been retracted or not makes it so much more powerful. Combined with the fact that this feature allowed kun to bypass the limited range of motion a traditional dual bladed lightsaber which made the design subpar when facing an opponent that knew about dual bladed fighting styles. The short hilt also eliminated the other weakness in the dual bladed lightsaber design (the long hilt needed to power attack with either end) as shown in the phantom menace when obi-wan cut mauls saber in half. Making it (in my opinion) the lightsaber that took advantage of everything a lightsaber is capeable of.

@@MusicFan752 This guy knows it☝️☝️☝️, imagine if Dooku had this design against Obiwan during their saberlock in AotC. Instead of tapping him on the leg and arm he would’ve probably done one of two things; flick his primary blade from standard to extended and stabbed Obiwan, or flicked it off and as Obiwan was carried forward by his momentum during that split second, Dooku would’ve taken advantage by his out of position blade and swiped upwards with his secondary blade. Kun wasn’t looking to make a saber/one handed bo staff hybrid, he was making an unorthodox saber that used its expanded capabilities to afford it’s wielder more of those split second opportunities masters use to end their fights in a single move.

I personally enjoyed the filming of this and truly believe it has some great potential, I just think that choreography needs some more work. There were points in film where it felt like they were clashing sabers just to clash sabers with no real tactics behind it. Overall the voice overs were good, action was alright and it was still better than the last jedi.

Very nice. Definitely two of the most awesome and intriguing characters in the Star Wars universe. The ancient Sith Lords were on another level from the likes of Vader and Sidious. Others have already pointed out Kun's lightsaber. My only other issue is that the actor playing Kun should have had a wig as Kun wore a ponytail.

Sorry ... but you did Exar Kun dirty in this video to go with the more popular/known character of Revan. Exar Kun was the better fighter with a lightsaber (the design was wrong too) and he could adjust lengths of his blades too (Often fought 1 handed and had his spare hand to use force abilities). Exar Kun was also damn strong in abilities too (instilling fear in every character in a room - Jedi included, that they couldn't move - paralyzed in fear) - he also created dark side creatures with his sith alchemy, he destroyed half the Jedi population in his era. Yes I love the Darth Revan character, but I recognize Exar Kun as the far superior fighter if it came to a duel/fight.

Kun honestly should’ve won this. The difference between him and Revan is like how I’ve heard the power levels described between Dooku and Obi-Wan, Revan is by far the better leader and general, but Kun definitely had the edge in pure lightsaber dueling.

The only nitpick I have is that Revan never starts a fight with 2 lightsabers. Always keeping his purple one hidden for surprise attacks and adapting to enemies that seem to know his fighting style to throw them off.

Don't claim to be an expert but IIRC Exar Kun fought mostly with a single blade active and the hilt was hand and half or standard length, he incorporated traps and tricks in his fighting. Revan's sabers were purple and red.

Absolutely love this, as Kun and Revan are two of my favourite sith lords, Kun having my favourite type of lightsaber; A DUAL BLADED BLUE ONE!!(And his style he uses with it) Love the single grip and all the extra stuff, and I really love their storylines. This was a pretty dang good fight. My only criticism is that I didn’t get to see Exar do his Single handed Dual Bladed saber usage.

While I do like how this video was done, great work, Exar Kun didn’t fight quite like that. The second blade was meant to be deceptive, cunning. He’d always start with a single blade ignited, then using the second blade to surprise his opponent and throw them off. That aside, again, I think this was pretty well done in itself. With how deep he delved into the dark side secrets and his innovative techniques with a lightsaber, I think he would overpower Revan in a one-on-one duel like this. Honestly, this is a well made duel, BUT, there are some minor tweaks, I think this encounter would have been longer, as they are both masters of the sith, but revan has both light and dark, I do not disagree that revan would have won, but this encounter would have been longer no doubts about it, and if Exar would have had his unique saber, it more than likely would have lasted over 20+ minutes, other than this, Great job good sir!

Hey! So I just Googled them, jedi outcast sound board and other ones on the internet. We used hitfilm for mostly everything but also after effects. Reccomend both

Exar kuns sabre hilt is too large. He had a double blade but on a single hilt.

Personally i think kylo would be lunchmeat for jedi starkiller and revan would do all the work! But its a cool idea! Maybe revan/Vader vs Luke Skywalker/obi wan!

Great video!!! But going based on EU, Exar would wreck Revan. After his first "death", even just his lightsaber terrified Jedi.

Not how I Imagine Exar Kun battled …… his lightsaber hilt was essentially same size of normal hilt with double blades and he would retract and extend blades in his attacks . He was a light saber blender.

@@WhiteStarProductions_ I think you guys can make one using whatever scrap and junks you guys can find :)) One handed dual blade is harder to control, I watched Ray Park interview, he request to make it longer, that's how Darth Maul dual blade come to be, originally it was one handed dual blade

Revan uses both the light side and the dark side of the Force. In addition, he trained in both Sith and Jedi lightsaber combat. Plus he was able to hold and throw back the lightning of a high ranking member of the Sith race. Exar Kun simply does not have the power or experience necessary to defeat Revan.

Kun had a single handed double saber... Far shorter, and rarely used both sides. WAS NEVER BEATEN! Duelists elite for sure, but used far more force abilities and dark side sorcery. This fight? I don't know.... I don't think Revan would be walking out of this one.

Really need to get a single hilt double bladed saber......(both of us need this). As I was trained in fencing and a few different martial arts, I see readily the dueling style of Makashi being fairly superior except for the use of Niman force during the duel, in offense. What makes Exar so scary is the speed and unpredictability as well as the baiting and force use. An entire galaxy of literally 100% of concerted jedi force attacking him and he STILL didnt lose. The melee combat wouldve been extremely kinetic and without much of a moment to retaliate if he had to fight Revan. Exar would also falsely bait him, and not reveal that 2nd blade until he ignited it into Revans body, because he respects Revans ability to quickly adapt. Besides Exar is the Father of All Modern Sith, with Bane developing the rule of 2 further.
