Hey everyone! Thanks for watching! We’re getting a lot of questions about whether or not these are replicas or the original mounts. There are only two replicas in this collection. The Jordan buck and the breen buck! The rest of these wonderful Whitetails in this collection are the original antlers.

The look on your face holding that Ken Cartwright Buck was "This thing is Filthy Big". Good stuff. This collection is absolutely amazing. Also thank you for talking about those replicas. Antlers by Klaus has a replica of the Bannister mule deer. Chuck and Herb Bannister were friends of my grandparents. in the 1940's Herb and Chuck harvested the buck in the sugar lake area. I am not sure how the mount ended up there but in the 1990's I dug the original Bannister mount out of my grandparents old shop in BC. It was covered in Squirrel crap and nut shells at the very back of some old shelving. Thankfully they never chewed the antlers. I hung the original in my grandparents garage on the wall 343 1/8. My cousin and her husband came for a visit one time and we got talking about deer and I told him you never seen a deer like the one in the garage. When he saw the Bannister buck he could not believe his eyeballs. Took a picture and sent it to some friends and funny thing Chuck wanted his buck back lol. I am so glad to find the replica at Antlers by Klaus because that brings back some memories that nobody would ever believe. Easily top 10 all time non-typical mule deer. Anyhow thank you so much for sharing your collection. None better.

Your comment about the scoring system as it relates to the Jerry Whitmeyer buck is right on. A symmetrical rack that can have a point removed from each side (and still be symmetrical) but is now "bigger" is an odd feature of the scoring system. I had a bow-killed 5x5 that just missed Pope and Young, but had the brow tines not been split on both sides, which would have reduced the buck to a 4x4 rather than a 5x5, it would have made the Pope and Young minimum. When my scorer finished scoring the rack and we saw how the split brown tines had dropped the score, he said, "Ya, it's a cruel scoring system."

Lived and hunted in Maine my whole life, makes me proud to see the third deer mentioned was taken in Maine. And a few others from Maine in his collection. We got some big boys up here, the potato deer is a legend too. Most don't get the big middle brow tines in Maine, I think thier called brow tines, the middle or first points on each side, right above the head like horns. Maine bucks just don't get big, everything else does for sure. Countless bucks over 200 , even pushing 300lbs every year.

Furthermore, I want to thank all of the guests who allow us to get a glimpse of their amazing houses and collections. The passion that goes into making these collections is truly second to none. Everyone of the guests has their own tastes in the creation and stories behind their collections and in a world that is fast becoming mundane to everything being the same and "woke" it is amazing to see and feel how every one of these collections truly are a part of their owners. I can honestly say that out of every episode I have watched, that this episode is my go to. The knowledge and stories behind each of these mounts and the way Keith is able to narrate each and every one proves to me just how special our tradition of hunting is.
