That ain’t just ‘sax’, ‘that’s Kirk Whalum. Might wanna check him out. He’s one of the most respected & successful smooth jazz artists on the planet. He knew Whitney very well & was one of the people called on to offer commentary in the documentary on Whitney called, Can I Be Me. It gives awesome insight, but is also heartbreaking to reflect. Maybe you don’t know that she & Bobby Brown had been married.

She still has the most beautiful voice that I've ever heard. I suggest you react to 'The Greatest Love of All' by her, at at the Arista Records 15th Anniversary Concert. Still many great years/performances after that but the peirod I mentioned is my favorite for her live stuff. What you are witnessing here is part of an iconic moment that may never be repeated again the way this country is going. In August of 1990 Bush Sr. launched Operation Desert Shield also known as the Gulf war. By January '91 morale among troops was low and there was a lot of resistance to the war. In January '91 Whitney Houston performed a flawless rendition of the Star Spangled banner at the superbowl. A few months later she wanted to go oversees to perform and show support for the troops, but the war had ended. She instead decided on this concert to welcome the troops home. For a brief moment, Whitney Houston brought this country together in a way that no one expected from an African American RnB singer. People who were wronged by this country fell in love with this country and even factions of this country known for racism were singing her praises. It was brief moment in time, but not the first time Whitney transcended racial barriers. React to something from her first album and I'll tell you the story. As for the Star Spangled Banner superbowl performance. It was so popular that she released it as a charity single to raise money for the families of combat soldiers during the gulf war. We've seen her amazing soul through her music but she also had a very big heart. This is a facebook video because I cant remember the title of the youtube video. Here Whitney sang 3 of the toughest songs ever written back to back and pulled it off flawlessly. This is undoubtedly the greatest award show performance I've ever witnessed. This is legendary in a way that makes you realize how much is lacking in today's music. We were so accustomed to this back then that this great performance is rarely cited for its greatness. facebook.com/WhitneyHouston/videos/i-loves-you-porgy-and-im-telling-you-im-not-going-and-i-have-nothing/297316374282895/ Whitney Houston's concert version of this song was so well received that they made it the official video for the song despite it being different than the album version. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5CXgZ-DbZqBgNE Whitney live: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2cdoCbYpyNatk kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4u2epR6h7t0n6M There's a story behind this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXivYWxvqZ2caNU

I love this tremendously. I also love her rendition of the Donny Hathaway classic, "A Song for You" from the same show. You can tell Whitney abides by the mantra, Go hard or go home. She killed this. Jack, if you get a chance, please please please do "Nobody loves me like you do." It is her duet with her brother, Gary Houston, a rare one from 1985. Her voice is super strong and she hits a few notes that surprised me. Also, I have to commend you. Not only are you playing the music that you like, but you may be exposing some of your fans to music they may have never heard of. This may, by extension, cause them to go out and support some of these artists (financially and otherwise). And some of these artists need more support than others. Thanks.

Whitney Houston the best singer that ever walked this earth. Clive Davis said that. By the way. They are coming out with a movie about Whitney's life coming in Dec 2022. Called, "I want To Dance With Somebody" Get your tissues out. She is so loved. Suppose to be fantastic. New movie trailer is out now . Clive Davis searched a year to find the girl to play Whitney. That was hard. Whitney was so powerful, and beautiful. But he (is) using "all" her vocals because no one, no one can sing as "great" as Whitney Houston. She was a gift from the Heavens. She had it all. Thank you for playing Whitney Houston. She truely is and always will be the best singer that walked this earth. It's great to see the younger generation discovering her.
