Fame at that level is crushing. No human is built to withstand being made a god out of and being expected to be superhuman all the time. This "star" system we created is too much weight. We take talent admiration way too far. We expect way too much of artists and we rob them of their right to be human beings. Even people who thrive on the attention eventually get sick of it (unless they're narcissists) because it's too much. Why do I have to know all your business to enjoy your music?!!
@bryanalstoncoxing
@bryanalstoncoxing 4 ай бұрын
Fame at this level is unnatural IMO. There’s a reason people who have reached the absolute peak of superstardom often crumble (Whitney, Elvis, MJ, Marilyn, etc) The lack of privacy and constant praise/criticism and also surviving in the evil and exploitative entertainment business is very difficult to do without a strong support system and will to live
@TortoiseJames

@@bryanalstoncoxing I agree 100 %!!! Humans were not meant to be deified and that's what we do to celebrities. ANY human would buckle under a weight we aren't meant to carry.

@@TortoiseJames yes! I really think this needs to be studied because it’s a serious problem. A current example of this is Britney Spears, someone who was arguably the most famous pop star in the world at her peak (and the peak of the paparazzi/tabloid magazine era) and look at what happened to her

Whitney Houston was one phenomenal woman & singer . Yes she had her demons but at the end of the day she loved God & was such a giver to ppl & the world. Her legacy will forever live on. It goes to show me that Fame & fortune can really be too much sometimes!! R.I.P Whitney Houston

Pregnat Whitney just glowed! She was so youthful and cute when she was chubby from expecting Bobbi Christina.... So full of life and vitality. From how she speaks here it is evident just how lost she become over the next few years of her life. Was it the marriage, the career, the drugs, or a combination of all three? The Whitney of just 3 years later looked and sounded quite jaded and burned out and disillusioned with life, bless her.

"Lets milk the black and white issue some more" that right there was pure common sense to the point debunking the absolute ignorance/hatred and down right stupidity of some people. This also applies today for race as well as sexual orientation. Its like people EVOLVE stop trying to do everything that you can to segregate and destroy peoples lives. Cause it'll come back, it always does. Just something to think about. 💯

People say Whitney having more kids wouldn’t have helped but I disagree she was sober and happy when she a pregnant… I truly believe if she had two more kids she wouldn’t have fell so hard in addiction😩
@soundseeker63
@soundseeker63 10 ай бұрын
Maybe if she took time out of the business to raise them. It was the pressure of her career, plus trying to be a wife and a mother all at once, that drove her to addiction. She was expected to be and do so many things at once, it's no wonder she ended up with an addiction. She really did love and seem to thrive on being a mother though.

No disrespect intended towards Whitney, but she settled for Bobby. @ 10:30 When Whitney wonders if people know what marriage entails, I feel the same question could be asked of her. The only good thing that came from their union was Bobbi Kristina.
@SerafiniAGaunt
@SerafiniAGaunt Жыл бұрын
I don't think that's fair though - there were things about Bobby that Whitney shouldn't have put up with, but they loved each other and many beautiful moments come from that, especially Krissy.
@soundseeker63
@soundseeker63 10 ай бұрын
@@SerafiniAGaunt I sort of agree. Whitney's big mistake wasn't in marrying Bobby. But staying with him for far too long well after it had turned toxic. I think they did love each other but over time it became more and more unhealthy and dysfunctional but for some reason neither of them wanted to admit that until the damage had been done, especially for Whitney. That last 5 or 6 years of their relationship so severly damaged her its so sad.

@@soundseeker63because her parents separated, which was hard for her, and so she wanted to “do it right” and not have the same pitfall in her own life.
