Clive Davis may believe that he discovered and made Whitney Houston. Whitney was a success in her own right. She would have made it without Clive who did not own her. God owned Whitney and i believe that she returned to the Father before her death. She blessed us with her presence for a short time but her presence which will last for eternity. She will never be forgotten.

Ummm, Fabrice Simon did her wardrobe for the GL and MOT tours. He was her (& many other a- list celebs) favorite in the 80’s. She personally thanks him in her tour books. We sadly lost him to complications from AIDS & the fashion industry has all but erased him from history. The first Marc Bouwer gown Whitney wore was her iconic white gown for OMIT at the ‘89 Grammy’s. He was on the come up and she loved him & would buy entire collections. He credits her for his career. He also did her wedding dress. Know your herstory, kids, and come correct. You are the lowest of the low for Blackfishing like that. Who does that?

I will say I one hundred percent agree, but I know she'd tell you that she studied her "cousin" Dionne (because I believe that's her Mother in real time) Whitney was a Masterclass but you gotta give props to those who laid the foundation that she matured and grew from.

Thank You! so very much for posting this great moving performance of "He, I Believe that Whitney's mother taught her as a child. When I saw Whitney at The Oakland Coliseum in 1989, she sang He,I believe and I have never been able to forget it. It gave me goose bumps and was the best performance in the whole concert. They should really release this live performance of He, I believe as a single and on CD and vinyl. I have been telling people about her performance of this song for years, after I witnessed her Great and moving performance. The song hearing it again by her incredible voice, brings tears of the spirit to my eyes.

A shame Whitney didn't make a gospel album! Likely bc critics would've dragged her for her issues.
@phreaq793 жыл бұрын
She has a gospel album. Her soundtrack to ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ is made up of (mostly) gospel songs and is the best selling gospel album of all time - even hit #1 on the gospel album chart and won awards from the gospel community for it. Critics also gave it great reviews, one even saying that on the gospel tracks Whitney was more emotionally engaged than she had been on all of her previous albums.

I know about The Preacher's Wife Soundtrack &love it bc I'm a huge Whitney fan! However,I was referring to an 100% Gospel ALBUM,not Soundtrack.Plus I wish she would've made multiple Gospel albums,but Whitney always said pppl seeing her as a role model frightened her,bc she knew some choice's she made would be ridiculed.

I've learned not a long time ago that when she said ''can i be me ?" It meant ''can i be myself, as a BLACK woman'', not ''singing for a public who doesn't want to hear anything from the black culture''! Fucking racism that hurts so many people even the best artists who give us so much ! It's a complete shame !

@@skip031890 it's true ! There are racists discriminations all over the world, a history full of violence, ghettos where people have to live in poverty but it's also where american black culture is from, you can refuse to see it but you can't erase it. Whitney grew up singing gospel, she also liked singing jazz, she also made a song from Laurin Hill, she was black, wonderfull, and wanted to be herself. Not a marketing product with songs made for white people to sell more. It was a real problem for her, so why do you want me to go out whereas i recognize who she was and wanted to be ???
