People dont understand how hard it is to sing 90 percent of ballads for over an hour... no other artist can accomplish this. There are little breaks from her and she hits very difficult notes that puts strains on the vocal cards. She did amazing.

And actually if you hear a lot other artists from the 80s, they no longer have their voice like heart to heart, Elton john, Stevie nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Dionne Warwick etc. Yes there's the drugs but also the grueling singing schedule. It really does do a job on vocals. A lot of singers have to have vocal surgery. Whitney worked 10 years straight in a rough business.

She was good... Her voice became very powerful and mature in the mid-90s, very strong. Incredible vocal technique and spirit filled high range notes, I love the Whitney of 1996-2000 than the Whitney of 1987-1995... The voice just became something to behold

I also prefer her 90s mid belt tone. The only part of her voice that was inferior to her 80s vocals were her upperbelts! They were still good in mid late 90s, but she struggled to sustain them like she use to in 80s.

When that people are talk about her voice in 90 didn't listen her voice in 80 is unmatched untouched any singer but in 90 s start her voice was more richer and more mature than 80 but I would prefer to Whitney 85ill 94
