People dont understand how hard it is to sing 90 percent of ballads for over an hour... no other artist can accomplish this. There are little breaks from her and she hits very difficult notes that puts strains on the vocal cards. She did amazing.

And actually if you hear a lot other artists from the 80s, they no longer have their voice like heart to heart, Elton john, Stevie nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Dionne Warwick etc. Yes there's the drugs but also the grueling singing schedule. It really does do a job on vocals. A lot of singers have to have vocal surgery. Whitney worked 10 years straight in a rough business.

Huh😕🤔, When haven't she EVER sung Live before????, at her greatest, and and her worse, Nippy has never lip synced, NEVER, she admitted herself, that she didn't even know how to, at times when people wanted her to, like when she did the Star-Spangled banner, she was walking out that day with her father, because she reported it the day before, because they always want you to have a safety tape, in case your voice is not at its best, so that you can lip sync, and she was like I don't know how to lip sync, people will be able to tell, my community already booed at me, as if they hate me, saying that I sold out, and that I'm Undercover lesbian, I got Al Sharpton out there, selling T-shirts, that says Whitey Houston, instead of Whitney, and leading protest against my music, and now they're going to say, and she can't even sing, it's all just been one big lie, I never asked for any of this madness, I just wanted to sing, and I had to live with these people saying all this stuff about me, but no one tells me how to sing, nobody I don't care who you are, no one is going to tell me what to do, with the gift that God has given me, so with that being said I quit, and before they can get another word out, there was Nip, & Ricky Minnor, walking away to leave the rehearsal, and the Super Bowl was the next day, so that's when her father John houston, said hold on, and went inside the office, to try and talk some sense into them, no one knows what he said, but when he came out, Whitney was asked to come back, after receiving a huge apology, from the captain of the NFL, and of course we know what happened after that, she sends the dog s*** out of that song, and she sung it live, already been put in the papers that she was doing the national anthem, so they would have been a fool, so not allow her to sing it her way, and even though thousands of artists have sung the National anthem, Whitney's is the only one that made history, and has never ever been another person, who performed the song, that has even come close to hers, and no one else has ever had this happen, Clive Davis stared getting call, after call, fm people, who loved it so much, that they demanded, for it to be released, both him, and Nippy couldn't believe it, that's where that safety tape came in to play, and it was decided that, she would go back in the studio, to add America the Beautiful to the single as well, and for her to sell over a million copies of The Star-Spangled banner, was absolutely all dropping, and unbelievable, suddenly "Whitey" Houston was now good enough, and it's sold over 9 million copies, worldwide today, and it's in the Guinness book of World Records.

I miss her so much... Now realize she's been not treating her voice kind smoking drinking yelling, this part in her life she was going through a lot. But still no one can nor will come close to her. Anyone that grew up with nippy that’s what we called her we along with her on choir practice Wednesday night 6:00 n u better not b late her mother Ms.Sissy we called her not just Sissy we had to respect her but when the time came during choir practice nippy would give us a signal n we made like we all had to go bathroom so Ms Sissy would say go all of u go together at one time we b n the bathroom telling what each of us did that week n school I remember she first started n regular school but lol would b messing up there so Ms.Sissy sent her to private school n told us she didn’t like wearing the uniform 🥋 so she would put her regular clothes n her book bags n hurry to school run n the bathroom n change takes her uniform 🥋 off n put her street clothes on n didn’t even care what they said o it was so great just being around her n all my sister n friends my aunt Myrna sang with her mother Sissy when she started her group the Sweet Inspiration n from there they all took a road n joined with backing Elvis Presley got stuck n car broke down so Elvis Presley sent them a brand new Cadillac for them to ride the rest of the way o the stories I can tell u all about Ms.Whitney Houston’s life as we meaning I n my sister the Smith family
