My Favorite Singer. Her talent was/is the kind that only God can bestow. I truly believe that. As evidenced by this song Speaking to God through her Music. She is missed. All due respect. Not gone. Still there. More Importantly...her voice was different and changed because She was different and changed. For someone that Singing was as Important as Breath. She remained True to Herself allowing her voice to crack on those Beautiful High Notes. Those Easily could been removed. So glad they were not. As it happens her last Album (when some like yourself feels disappointed by her voice) contains 2 of my very Favorite songs by Whitney. "I Look to You" and "Million Dollar Bill". Stunning Vocals on Both.

I always get extremely moved by this, so poignant. So, R Kelly wrote this for her understanding where she was and she was brave to do it. It also turns out he had been trying to work with her for years but there was gatekeeping going on. They would have been fabulous together, her singing (esp with gospel background and his life themed/motivational type songs (he wrote 'I believe I Can Fly') would have been massive hits... A moving version of this is her doing this with her friend Pastor Kim Burrell on stage at a church, you can see the embrace of the church audience

I cry whenever I hear this song bc of the significance of it in relation to her personal struggles and it being one of her final singles. The only thing that makes me slightly uncomfortable is the fact that it was written by R Kelly, who as you know is in prison for sex crimes.
