True Whitney fans know about this day. This was the only time I saw Whitney live in concert, and those dubbed part were added in the broadcast. She was completely live. I remember seeing her step offstage to get wiped down in between songs, and I’ve never seen her so frustrated with her voice. That’s what the camera(and live broadcast) didn’t catch. She actually wanted her voice back, but the machine/Clive/the fans pushed her back way too early. I was heartbroken at this concert(I now have gratitude as this was the only time I saw her live) but my friend who went with me said she put on a SHOW. She gave it her all, even around the vocal difficulty. I think that shows for her career. She gave it her all.

Well even if her voice was bad here, she still proved that she could sing with her AMA performance the same year and also her Oprah performance proved that her voice was still there. Even if she has bad performances like this, she still sang live no matter what. People that were there at this concert came to support her and her comeback and that´s really great for me to see. Whitney Houston will always be remembered as the woman with the golden voice in her prime years and her many legendary performances. :)

Most of us couldn't sound this good in any vocal state! No one would show up to see any of us sing the ABC's so the fact that they showed up to celebrate her was testament to their faith in her! Her voice was incredible and we all enjoyed it and when it changed, she still had the gift because God never takes that back, no matter what we do with it. She blessed the world with that gift so remember the good and not the bad! Hopefully those who are shaking their heads will remember that.

It's easier to be worse than to be better. You say this is so bad and the drugs have knocked her down, however, she has sung her own, her part yet. And hands to our hearts, who is able to sing like this. I think this is still good, really good. And she's been very very good singer. None of us can judge Whitney because we were not living in her shoes and we don't know what was going on with her. Having said that, it is heartbreaking to hear the degradation in her voice here. One thing is for sure: if ever there was a "poster person" for drug abuse, Whitney is one. I still love her and am SO sad (and even angry) that we lost her so soon. I only hope that she has found peace wherever she is now.

This breaks my heart hearing her :( All she needed was a good year of vocal rest from tours along with vocal lessons to strengthen her vocal cords and doing some vocal excerises.. For the record her past drug use has nothing to do with her being hoarse during this concert. She had been using drugs around the time of the bodyguard and sounded wonderful. prior to this show on oprah she sounded fine and afterwards in germany. her voice sounded fine in 2011 at bets celebration of gospel with kim burrell and on the set of sparkle so hush with the drug comments
