+Yobachi2007 No she shouldn't have. We all knew about her drug problems. The only thing that would have made her difference is if she had more of her backing singers helping her out, but lip syncing is the pits. No one wants to pay to see a "live" singer sing to a backing track.

It's not drugs, it's smoking! She needed help with her nicotine addition so she didn't sound like this.

Facts. No other vocalist of any period in music history or music genre can touch Whitney Houston. In the 90s she went on stage with Pavarotti and attempted an operatic riff and had everyone gagged by her classical abilities🔥🔥🔥

She was also in congestive heart failure which was why she was so severely winded. Damaged pipes and struggling for breath - this poor woman. The brilliance of her talent will shine for many decades to come. Rest in eternal love, dear Whitney.

@kctaylorsings Жыл бұрын
Well said. Her autopsy revealed that 60% of her liver was blocked or congested; Whitney gave her absolute best with the condition her body was in. Her vocal chords were not the problem she was gasping for breath, air, oxygen. RIP Nippy

@soundseeker63 Жыл бұрын
@@PirateKing1256 I wouldn't say "fine". Functional is probably correct. She'd been a smoker all her adult life (both tobacco and weed) and that affects the larynx, especially so in women. Years of cocaine used had perforated her septum and of course we all know her lungs were also in a pretty bad way by this time (the lungs are basically the foundation of singing, without healthy lungs the voice cannot operate correctly) I don't think she was physically fit to do another world tour but she was financially obligated to do it. I felt really bad for her tbh.

Remie Coleman guess you don't know what "example" means. We all human beings yeah we all have imperfections. When i'm too sick, or in a bad condition for some reason i don't/can't go to work. And sometimes the company i work for does not pay me because of that. And singing was her job. You get it now? And yeah Whitney was a human, not a goddess. And she screwed up! Like everybody else can.. And that concert was not a charity for Whitney. So the people there had all the rights to get their money back.

I don't know what she was going through but I've seen her at her best and at her worst especially seeing this video. I wish she could've turned her life around, corrected her voice to some extent and be living sober free. That would be an amazement ending. But GOD intended otherwise. Love you Whitney! Damn people! this is damn near 20 years since she first sung the darn song what were you expecting 89 Whitney to take the stage? most people. dont sound the same by the 3rd album. She didnt sound horrible at all. .Why is everyone so quick to criticize her and try to take away the fact that Whitney had one of the most amazing voices in music Ever period.
@Dreamofaaliyah9 жыл бұрын
She is the voice like Oprah said and will be forever. But I have to admit this was not the best time of her life! The last World tour was a mess all around Europe. Most of the people who came to see her to perform left from the arenas and asked to get their money back. She looked like and sounded like she was on drugs the whole time and well she died from drugs so end of discussion. Her voice is so unique there are no others who can compete with her.
@twalston019 жыл бұрын
Marcus Ek End of discussion? I wasn't aware that we were having a discussion.I made a statement and it was,she didn't sound horrible, not the greatest but some people sound terrible 10 years later sans the drugs.Thanks now we can end the discussion. Good Day.

Teressa Brown-Walston She did sound terrible. Her voice was hoarse and she failed to hit the notes several times, nearly the whole song. She still had her own rendition of the song, though. She tried hard but still failed because of bad physical condition.

leehomlovesamei I didn't think she sounded terrible, but that is my opinion I've heard great singers that sounded a little off and didn't bash them. Whitney was a heavy smoker as well so the fact that she could sing at all.....

Her voice may have gradually slipped away in her later years but one thing she never lost was that magical ability to inject emotion into a lyric. @eb-zw3sk4 жыл бұрын
She was the best female singer ever, not only because she had everything - a voice, presence, charisma and talent like no other - but also because she was able to create drama, pathos and emotions. This is something you cannot learn, although this is what makes the difference between extraordinary singers and the greatest singers ever. The "And I..." part might have been rawer than the original, but - damn! - you hear all the anger, pain and commitment while delivering the song. And, by the way, the change from silence to voice explosion (and people standing up) is simply mindblowing. Only legends can do that!

Although it's not curable it can be controlled and she could have lived a normal life and probably got most of her vocal ablity back. But anyway I agree even with this voice she was the best. No one like her.

I don’t care, she gave her best. She was epic, when she wooed me, as a kid. Today, at 41, I can say, the good Lord blessed us with Whitney. I fell in love with her voice, she is and will always be in my top league. Many tried to emulate her. She’s simply the best, irrespective...🇿🇦❤️🙌💝🙏💋😍🔥❣️⚡️

It's so sad. She left us with goosebumps thousands of times... for 24 years... then suddenly she does a few bad performances and we hate her because of it. The public is harsh and horrible. :( no one has any loyalty, but I do, I will always love you Whitney. You always make me happy when I hear you sing and my favourite time was when you were singing gospel in 1987 with your muma and she was so proud of you.

I am hearing you Brother, I hopped on a few wrong buses in my time, who are we to judge...I was not her biggest fan, but, the people around me were, so she is part of my life....the day she died a friend and I were in Kuala Lumpur for a months holiday, the Lobby Bar bat our lush Hotel had a resident band in the foyer lounge it was absolute magic, they sang all her songs, I cried, my friend cried ,the pianist cried, the singer cried, the waiters were crying, it was monumental thinking back.... we laughed, we sang along, we all channelled Witney that night in our own special way

@@alp7928 she couldn’t be with the one person she truly loved, Robyn Crawford. She couldn’t be who she wanted to be. So she had to live a false life. Just love who you want in this life.

I wish I'd seen her once, even like this. She was not well and shouldn't have gone on tour BUT she did. And she gave 110 and then some. Whitney was never the same after the early 00s, but she came with her final album and her bits of clarity. I loved the Sparkle remake. I will not see a damned hologram of her but I will happily watch every damned performance she did. They are all good considering where she was in life and what she was coping with.

The Voice at her "worst" is ten times better than some singers at their best. This is why she's a legend. She still showed vocal control better than others who think they can sing better than their range requires. People just don't wanna give Whitney credit! RIP Queen Nip.
