Back in the eighties. Whitney didn’t win the Soul Train award for “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, but, Janet did.

Both whitney and Bobby told the story of when they first met and it didnt quite happen like this. E.g. She didnt physically assault him with her purse. lol

Honestly I think BET's Bobby Brown Story did a better job at depicting their relationship. I know in all three films ("Whitney," "The Bobby Brown Story," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody") had their own version of how they met at the Soul Train Awards, when he confessed his ex was pregnant with his baby after they got engaged, to when she suffered a miscarriage on the set of The Bodyguard. The relationship between the two of them I felt was more favorable in The Bobby Brown Story.

This has to be the worst Bobby Brown version I've seen so far 😅😂.. I mean the one in the Lifetime movie version is better. BET is the most accurate one because Bobby himself was executive producer together with all the professionals who knew him well and even worked with him through his career. Dam* even the Gumby haircut is wrong 😂😅

@@pensiveczar2239 in this film Bobby is depicted as aggressive mean stern, woody gives the Bobby the people don’t know and need to know, and looking like someone makes your portrayal better? Will smith looked nothing like Muhammad Ali and did a hell of a job, Denzel looked nothing like mlk and yet did the job and got it right, not to mention Bobby brown story was produced by Bobby if you think he didn’t like woody’s portrayal why would he still have done the film, Ashton sanders fits the perspective of how the media described Bobby. Not to mention he did no singing and halfway danced, woody wasn’t even a singer and still Did good.

Both ruin each other simple not one both I understand we all love Whitney but stop pointing the blame on Bobby like she was a grown ass woman and he wasn’t a grown ass man at the end of the day I respect him for being the performer he was because every damn R&B artist templated off him after he stopped making music and Whitney they will never be another Whitney

The story may be off and the acter playing bobby Brown may not have been the best, but you can't tell me that Naomi ain't got Whitney's mannerisms down packed. In my opinion, in this scene, compared to the one in the bobby brown story, Naomi did it better than gabrielle . Too bad she was in the wrong movie bc this bobby sucked and they got the winner wrong in this scene 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The way they portrayed Bobby Brown was shameful and how horrible since he was such a major part of her story. I am a major fan of WH and BBB and the only thing they got right was WH voice. Robin was/is beautiful and another major part of her story, but the casting was not up to par for her part. The soundtrack seemed forced and a bit sad. If you are going to change her journey to fit a specific narrative, at least get better costumes, casting and music.
