As amazing as this performance is, here is a link to what many diehard fans consider to be her greatest and most powerful live performance. It is from her 1986 world tour. A live cover of The Dreamgirls song "I am changing" She unleashes the full weight of her powers for 10 minutes straight. It's part Broadway, part gospel/soul and part opera--all in one truly epic live performance (audio only, unfortunately) It is unbelievable. It may be the greatest live vocal performance ever captured on audio. It's almost scary. I challenge you to set aside 10 mins of undivided attention and put your headphones in (or blu-tooth on at full volume) You'll think an alien landed on earth, sang this song in front of a live audience, then returned to their home planet. @@trevortamboline279 Thanks for listening. I pity any Whitney fan who never gets to hear what I consider to be her most incredible live performance. Yes, I am familiar with Dimash. Super talented guy as well. Very impressive range. Here's another rare treasure. Probably the most powerful live version of I will always love you she's ever done. It was at the beginning of the first leg of the Bodyguard tour; when her voice was in fighting shape and her tone was a bit darker and heavier than it was in the 1986 performance I sent you. The big climax is frightening. Like a 300 foot tall beast and a male opera tenor joining forces. Hard to beilve that kind of power could come from such a thin-framed beautiful woman. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3a5e42CotZomK8 ...and here is in a 1988 concert, singing Happy Birthday to a very lucky fan named Marco. Whitney took it to an almost superhuman level. I'd love to hear your reaction after listening. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKe6laGfotaam6M

She was the absolute best, ever. And so beautiful. Catch the eulogy that Kevin Costner gave at her funeral.

She was super-talented & beautiful. How sad she drowned due to drugs. She really was epic. People don't realize when someone is suffering, & really miss her. R.I.P Whitney xx

As a 70 year old white gay man, Whitney in the 80’s was our community’s voice. Her later stuff was good, but for me, the 80’s were her pinnecale

What a song and what a voice! I bought the single as soon as it was released in Australia. I taped this grammy's version on my 80's VHS recorder. I kept the video tape until KZbin came out
