It’s because they used the people around Lauren to create multiple stories and they just have Kristin carry all the whole storyline. It helped balance things out for Lauren where she could always look like the nice one, whereas Kristin had to play all personalities since they knew she could do it. With Lauren they had spencer and Heidi and their drama, Stephanie and Doug, Whitney and her storylines, Heidi and Bolthouse and Elodie, Heidi and her mom & sister, lo and audrina fighting, Justin and audina… every single time Lauren could come out looking like the nice one with the least combative storyline. When Kristin came they wanted her to carry the whole show. Justin and Kristin and Audrina and Brody Kristin and Macakela. No matter what the storyline, Kristin was front and center and had to carry the all the drama.

*Interesting fact:* Audrina confirmed the fight with Kristin over Justin Bobby was fake. She said the producers pushed the idea & she told the producers she didn’t want to do it because she was in another relationship at that time but they wouldn’t let her leave until they had their “fight.” That’s why it doesn’t feel genuine because her & Kristin were like let’s just get this over with. Kristin confirmed this too & admitted she never dated Justin Bobby nor was she attracted to him like that.

Yeah no I read that this fight was actually pretty random because Audrina and Kristin knew the producers were going to try to pin them against each other when Kirstin came on the show, so they had talked beforehand deciding not to give in to that drama and then somehow they still did (I blame Stephanie a little bit hahaha) and that's why Kristin gets so mad and is like "So it's gonna be like this?!" because she thought they wouldn't get into it.

This has to be the most frustrating episode when it comes to editing & the amount of voiceover (adr) they use. First off “in real life” the rooftop party was actually Audrina’s bday party. The producers for some reason with adr made it Heidi & Spencer’s welcome home party. Also both Audrina & Kristen has stated that the producers actually locked the exit door & didn’t let them leave until they had some sort of confrontation so Kristen pulled Audrina to the side & said “Let’s just give them what they want let’s give them a show” & that’s exactly what they did. P.S. Jade’s tattoo says “Respect” And the “Jersey Shore guy” @ 9:45 is Audrina’s brother lol

That last part you’re talking about was at Heidis Birthday party at their new house in a later episode. When the show started Kristen and Audrina had discussed that the producer were probably gonna try and pin them against each other and make them fight over Justin but they both agreed that they wouldn’t let that happen. But once they filmed this rooftop party scene and Audrina and Stephanie actually freaked out on her- Kristin decided to go along with the producers and fall back on her and Audrinas agreement to not be rivals. That is why she says “alright is it gonna be like this? If it’s gonna be like this it’s on bitch!” And at Heidis party at her new house is where the producers wouldn’t let the two leave untill they confronted each other

Actually no. A pick me girl and a cool girl are different. Unfortunately, a pick me girl does more of the things you've seen Lauren & Audrina do on this show to get a guy to like them. It's when a girl abandons her self-worth and goes along with whatever a guy wants in hopes that he will 'pick her' for being agreeable. It's a very very common trait among women and girls. Kristen on the other hand most definitely was and still seems to portray herself to be "The cool girl". Aka the girl that knows how to land the guy easily with her mixture of "im hot, but I'm into "guy hobbies" and don't take life seriously" vibe. The cool girl behavior isn't about wanting to be picked. It's about exercising the power they have to get whatever guy they want, whenever they want him, whether he's single or not.

However I do know from interviews that Heidi was insecure about her breasts ever since she was a little girl and always wanted them done but never had the money which is why it was the first thing she got done. She then got her nose done because it was broken by a dancer once and then she had the 10 surgeries but has always said that Spencer was very against it and didn’t want her to go through with it. I’m sure she said it on her Ryan secrest radio interview and she’s said it ever since that he was totally against the surgery and saying she didn’t need anything. Xxx

I really do love rewatching these with the two of you. My husband and I loved to watch the Hills as a newly married couple when it first came out. The way you two talk and watch the episodes are exactly like we were sitting on our sofa watching the program back in the day! Love it...don't change for anyone! :)
