Seeing Lauren be a "pick me girl" is so hard to watch. Notice how Stephen pets her head, kisses her cheek and says "thanks for taking care of me, that was so BRO of you"? It's obvious that he liked Kristen but had to continue the bromance with LC to stay relevant in the eyes of the producers. Nowhere in the series do they ever kiss or do anything on screen, it's all implied in the editing. But when I see Lauren, I can see her feelings were real. However, I totally understand Kristen being upset for being labeled the villain for defending her real relationship from a fake one and being judged for her actions (which we now consider empowering) at such a young age. This show really took advantage of these two teenagers. Thank goodness they are both smart enough to be better-off from the show and experience success in their own right. And they both dodged the bullet with Bordy-ass Stephen.

Everyone on this show is so clearly a teenager, that it almost seems unfair to comment on their behavior...but I do want to say I respect Kristen's confidence and brazenness. I love who Lauren became, but she always read insecure on Laguna. Though honestly all of their actions are so relatable both for the time and for that age. Steven is obviously very into Kristen but can't play her games as easily as she can, and his feelings are hurt. I remember going to Cabo for the first time about 10 years ago and seeing sights that were in this episode: the seals, the ships anchored, those infamous rocks, and boating to that island. I was so in awe that I was in the same place as them ( so silly, I know) OH and I went into town specifically to find Cabo Wabo and go inside. I remember it wasn't open when I went so I just asked if I could take a look around inside , that my favorite show was filmed in there. And they let me. hi ! just want to say I went thru back to back egg retrievals for IVF october/november and it was the best choice we ever made for my husband and my fertility journey.
