Good show! I just love Desmond's painting, he is very skilled at drawing yet the result is painterly; the complementary color scheme is very effective. He clearly knows his stuff. Triptic is good as well, love the colors though I assume the composition and drawing did not convince. I like also the third guy, he is honest and skilled, good color choice; i like also the overall design but needs more painting 'science' like drawing and perspective would assume. He is young though, can catch up with these in no time.

I couldn't decide between the winner and the triptic. Either would have been deserving. I was however, disappointed in the wildcard selection. There were so many more vibrant interesting works among the wildcards than the work that was selected.

Desmond's painting was intriguing but for my wall I would showcase Dawn's electric, hot, hot triptych. It seems to vibrate. Yet she steadily added cooler shapes/elements to tame it so it didn't get cartoony. Very nice work.

It makes me cringe so hard when we Brits insist on putting an R in the middle of the word 'drawing' and pronounce it 'droring'. Ugh! Stop it. Antipedians do it too. North Americans actually pronounce it beautifully IMO.

@@noras.9774 And you think we don't? It is about attitude. You can see it as ugly and repressive, which of course it is, or you can see it as a triumph of the spirit of the men who worked there. Artistically, you can see it just as this guy did, and transform something dirty and ugly into something of value. It is up to you really. You can be held back or you can move forward
