Hi Kevin, I have been out of town a couple of days & just seeing your carving now. This is absolutely wonderful! I loved every minute of it. I have not tried to carve a fisherman yet but I need to. Your carving has given me the inspiration to try & as one Newfoundlander to another Newfoundlander I need to try because the fisherman is the symbol of the character, the determination & the integrity that is basis of what makes us proud & thankful to live in this wonderful island province of ours. Yet another great variation on my favourite characters. There will definitely be a few of these done for my collection as well as for family and friends.I just wish I could whittle with the same amount of confidence you have. Maybe in a few more years. That simple wrinkle under the eye elevates the face so much, really good work. You probably make half as many cuts as most people, blade sharpness is so important.

I think you would be the an excellent neighbor, if I had a bug free porch comfortable chairs, good light, it stayed 65 degrees, and you wanted to spend time carving, although I would probably talk a bit more than your videos. I've had some that's not so easy. I pick through the wood at the hardware store. After working with the pine for so long you can kinda tell which pieces are the better wood
