I shaved about 3/4" off their Long Straight Knife and ground the end more steeply. It is more suited to the way I whittle now. Thank you as always! 👍✌

What knife is that you start with, I like it, haven’t seen that yet and just started whittling during the cold season, usually do power tool carvings and chainsaw but really enjoying this so far, any advice like good knives and other tools? Brands? Anything? Awesome little carve too I’m gonna give it try

The knife I use is the North Bay Forge large straight knife (modified a bit by me from the original) northbayforge.com/sn.htm I used to do quite a bit of chain saw carving back in the day - lots of fun to say the least! I use all kinds of knives from a Stanley 199 to a reshaped boning knife. For dedicated whittling knives I like the North Bay Forge knives, OCCT knives and I heard (never used) good things about Deep Holler knives. Thank you for watching!!!👍✌

Thank you! The cigar is just a piece of eastern white pine from the edge of the whittle, shaved down a bit and cut to size. Fit like a real cigar - just stuck in there 😎. Enjoy you week as well! 👍✌
