Mumbai Skyscrapers!
Contrary to the popular notion, its just not South Mumbai that is seeing a construction boom. While it is a fact that most of the high-rise buildings in Mumbai are concentrated in the central and southern suburbs, of late, the Northern Suburbs have started to catch up! Look at the growing skyline of the Goregaon-Malad area captured from the NH-8. You can see several under construction high rises that average between 40 and 50 floors. The commercial highrises made by Oberoi - Oberoi Commerz and Oberoi Commerz 2 are also seen. Towards Malad, a glimpse of the Omkar Altamonte is also seen. This is perhaps the tallest under construction structure in the vicinity with the tallest tower being 73 storeys tall.Towards the end, you can also see the 62 storey Lodha Fiorenza under construction. This tower is actually before the Goregaon flyover. In the next few years, the area is sure to get a denser, taller skyline!

The thing that pisses me off the most is the inconsistency of the median. The portion near Westin and Oberoi Mall is filled with plants and as you move towards Borivali, the median is broken in places and is filled with debris or soil.

They try to build median but mall owner break it down just to let opposite lane vehicles accessories the mall without long u turn. Same case is with national Highways, petrol pump/food plaza owners do the same! This leads to non scientific movement of traffic and thereby accidents.

Mumbai like most of India is still in the early stage of development. The investment in infrastructure is happening but it will take another 15 years to reach world standards or thereabouts. So stop bad mouthing a developing Country which is actually doing quite well. China in the mid 90's had similar traffic and infrastructure. Now they are world class. Give some time, our India will get there.

These buildings looks like they were built with plastic windows or cheap glass. Glass technology has advanced tremendously. If India aspire to become modern state then it should start building buildings with high-end glass and steel.

First of all India is not in competition of showcase And secondly, the glassy buildings are not that economic so we have to save money too To keep clean those glassy skyscrapers is too costly and risky and that's why Indian builders are mostly avoiding it
