I think it’s beyond disgusting to try and profit off a video where one or more parties were unaware they were being filmed and would otherwise never want such footage to be seen by anybody. It’s incredibly exploitative to capitalize somebody’s fear of shame, public ridicule, mockery or even pity, permanent change in way they people look at them when they walk into a room/their name is mentioned…not to mention their family’s reaction and distress they would experience. I see it as extortion/shakedown. Clearly the only objective is a pay day and zero concern for anybody’s wellbeing as this lawyer is purporting. There’s no way to prove there aren’t multiple copies of any tape, therefor no 100% guarantee that if it was “sold” it won’t end up leaking anyway. Unfortunately it’s not like there’s a lack of public demand to know and see what’s what and who’s who. I think the whole thing should be illegal whether that be selling to a third party or threatening this if the person in the video does not pay up. Regardless of legality though, it wouldn’t be too hard for these animals to conduct transfer of funds anonymously through crypto. If this was a case of somebody being aware they were being filmed or they had filmed/photographed themselves it’s still a violation, given they didn’t consent to it being viewed by other people but it’s never an absolute guarantee once images/video exist that somebody doesn’t get hacked/device stolen etc and it ends up leaking in the way people’s nudes have leaked in the past but it’s evil behavior to release footage of somebody who didn’t know they were being filmed. It victimizes the person twice in the most vulnerable way possible…to extort and threaten the release of footage they weren’t consenting/aware of well that is beyond evil.
