I have 3 questions here: 1)when I'm watching this video is this the brain who understands the concept of consciousness or is the consciousness understanding itself..?? If it's counsiousness understanding itself than it's realisation?? 2) along with humans does other beings have this consciousness..?? Is that reason why we say animals as lower consciousness..?? 3)difference between consciousness and subconsciousness..?? Please answer someone

The term "consciousness" is based on living beings. But atma in Sanskrit is not the same. Atma is the experiencer and witness only. It is present irrespective of any matter. If there is matter, mind is the manager or operator. There is no activity attributed to atma. Understanding the concept is an activity. All activities are for the mind. Atma is a witness (not a doer). All 3 questions are in the domain of "mind." Atma is witness of the mind. The difference of superior, inferior, and subconsciousness can be understood as the level of expression each entity has. Eg. Humans are considered highly expressive, animals are less expressive, and inanimate things have very little expression. I hope this was helpful.

The original verse is written in Sanskrit which is like more than 5000 years old. But the language is not a dead language, some people still study and can talk in Sanskrit. You can take Sanskrit as a third language. It is a well known language and many Indian languages comes from it. So, I don't think the translation is lost in English notably.

The verse is in Sanskrit and is taken from Mandukya Upanishad (The philosophical texts and commentaries of Vedas). He has translated it and explained it with interesting analogies and stories. The verse is not very difficult to understand logically but, the more you try to witness the 4th state, you will know it may take lifetimes to realize that state and experience it without the adulteration of the body and mind.
@spiritualreactions
@spiritualreactions Жыл бұрын
Absolutely!! I agree, I think my your logical brain i can understand what he’s talking about. But to witness the 4th state which is in fact no separate from all other states and to fully experience it could take many lifetimes 😂

Nice job, lass. Thank you! I started listening to Swami several years ago. This teaching is at the bottom of all Metaphysics, East and West. In a twist, his explanation of Vedanta brought me back to Christianity. Call it walking and chewing gum at the same time. Once the One is realized, the appearances no longer become problematic. We worship God in many guises. As Islam states: No god but God. "Vaya con Dios, my Darling!"

This is absolutely one of the highest context which is discussed in this video of advaita vedanta hindu path. Without proper understanding that you might be in delima which have tendency to lead you absolutely peaceful or terrible. If you are feeling absolutely peace after listening this no problem. Keep in mind he is talking about one relaity brahm. Many people started thinking that he/she themselves is god without understanding proper context. Becareful if you are on this path you need to be completely in deny of ahankara( ego and pride) otherwise this highest knowledge of sprituality have tendecy to tramatize you because of agayna(lacking knowledge). This is because after getting this knowledge some people start to fruit their ahankara(ego and d pride). You have watch more lecture or read advaita vedanta to understand this absolutely great wisdom.

Let's say if i take your memories which includes all the information that you gathered through your life experiences and i took all of your senses where you can't hear, you can't smell something, you can't see anything or you can't feel the touch of anything or feel your limbs. But you are awake.... What will be you then..... The presence that illuminates you but with no identity of you being a human being or anything else but intelligent enough to aware that you exist... When you were a baby and your body isn't completely formed yet but you are conscious... Babies can't think this deeply cuz in order for you to think this you'll need a physical form with a physical brain and a intelligence like right now which is intelligent enough to think this right now... To experience this reality we need this physical body... But without it and all that noise inside your head what are you?? Right now just like me you have also developed a body and a intelligence in a physical form in this physical reality to understand and to get an idea on this topic but before this body you were many things after this body you'll be many things... Just close your eyes and ask yourself that you'll be in this body for some time.. What do you want to do till then???

There is much more to know in the Mandukya Upanishad.. Along with Mandukya Karika...But he tried to cover the major and main areas in 3 hours.. And he explained it in the most comprehensive manner... The samskaaras Or the vrittis that you were talking about goes deep at the level of deep sleep.. Hence deep sleep is mindless and thought less state but samskaras do exist in a potentially unexpressed stored form in the chitta.. Chitta along with vrittis /samskaras still do exist at the level of deep sleep.. But in unexpressed stored form in the chitta.. The awakened state is associated with the physical body (Sthul sharir). The dream state is associated with the astral body (sukshma sharir) The deep sleep state is associated with the causal body (kaaran sharir)

No I guess he tried to say "Yes of course this is reality but the turium of reality is 'I' and I am the one who is the main character of every state". It is the "I" which is superior and anyone can do/achieve anything if he's focused or spiritually wants it badly, obviously with a good intention.

In advaita vedanta the first part is to eliminate all the illusary things to find the reality, second part is to realize that even the illusary things doesnt have any existence apart from that reality, this completes the cycle of understanding the reality. Main principle to follow is to separate the subject from the object and then finally concluding that all object's were experienced by the subject hence there is no separate existance for these objects apart from the subject. Reality is neither easy nor difficult or in between of any, it is as it is, it reveals itself to whom it chooses, one can struggle with knowledge, bakthi, meditation, service to seek it but it reveals itself in the cave of one's heart. An enlightened person has reached absolute fearlessness becoz there is nothing apart from the real 'I' and hence an absolute bliss and peace.

If anyone listen this lecture without any idea on sanatana dharma, he/she will be definitely puzzled. There are so many things you have to go through that will blow your mind. Usually most of the hindus don’t go through their scriptures that much rather they lead their life following some cultural tradition. But despite so many cultural differences , all are bound to follow some core philosophy of sanatana dharma like believing in karma reincarnation and nirbana or freedom from the birth and death cycle. Last but not least, every one should follow dharma in any situation of life without even thinking the consequences. Every one have different role in different condition, like when you'r a leader,you dharma should be impartial, always taking decisions for the highest benefit of your followers. Similarly , when you'r a citizen, you should follow the dharma of a citizen. Spiritual gurus are there to guide you in this journey according to your dharma. I am not a devout practitioner of religion but i think this is all about hinduism in short. Regarding this lecture, though listened several times before, it worth listening many Times. Thanks.

Who am I ? Aatma (soul) You feel it. Can't explain it, you have to feel it. Hindustan is a land of seeker. You ask anything you want, there is answer ! One more major difference between Hinduism and abrahamic religion is , belive in 'rebirth' . After death our soul leave body and find another one. Which body he will get is depends on his 'karma' he made. Hinduism believes after 8.4 million rebirth we got this human body. There for without westing our time we hav to make good things....

Vedanta is a science, the science of consciousness and it has nothing to do with religion or beliefs. The advaita darshana was authored into commentaries by Adi Shankara several centuries back. Just like Swami Sarvapriyananda shares his wisdom through the Ramakrhishna mission, there is also a Chinmaya mission which also shares this vedantic science as lectures available online . Nisaragadataa Maharaj commentaries, Ramana maharishi, commentaries on the Bhagawat Gita all echo this science of consciousness that points us to our eternal reality

Samskaras are just like a food that is stuck to the utensils. These samskaras can be positive or negative and all these samskaras are stored in chitta(Storage). This is why we see some children truly evil from an early age and some prodigies from an early age. This is the work of Samskaras. Finally chitta shuddi (Full cleanse of chitta without any remains) makes you close to moksha(Liberation). Chitta stores karma from many births. So if can burn down this birth's karma you can make karma from previous birth to pop up. This is why we see some times things happen out of blue and we cannot think of a rational explanation for that. To do this you have to do Astanga yoga. If you practice Apari grahaha (Non-possession) from physical to even thoughts, you can experience your past karma. This literally means not taking anything from the Prapancha(world) and burning your present karma so that you can bring other karma. You can see yogis doing this. Yogis attain special abilities to do this simultaneously from human body. Yogis introduce some part of thier consciousness to other forms like a cat or frog to burn thier karma if existed. All they want to do it to bring karma to 0.
