fun fact : all group in YG Entertainment has an unique voice. that's why rarely other group non-YG can't cover their song as good as YG entertainment's group
@terrydaigle93462 жыл бұрын
I would start backwards with their first single "Whistle" and see how they've developed into the group they are now. Also, you can find color-coded lyric videos for non-single releases or b-sides that have the Korean/Japanese to English translation with a picture and name of who is singing which is very helpful when learning groups. It goes across the board for most k-pop bands to have a video like this that's very helpful when learning the member names. Blackpink's not too bad because they only have four members but bands like Dreamcatcher and BTS have more members so seeing who's seeing each part is always helpful when learning names.

Agreed, it would show their progression - but Boombayah was technically their main debut with Whistle being the "B" side.
@hanmira2 жыл бұрын
@@gordowg1wg145 Actually, that's not true, because Whistle was released first (on the same day but liek 2 hours prior I think) and when Teddy talks about Blackpink's debut, he always mentions and talks about Whistle

@@hanmira It was released earlier on one or two markets, but it's referred to as the "B" side (exact terminology may vary, but same meaning) on official YG sites, and other listings, so it's the "B" for me. The history around it's release re-inforces that.

Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa released their own single albums and Jisoo acted as a lead in a series recently and now is focusing on her solo music too. They are coming back this year to release a Mini album as a group. In kpop, it's normal for members to release solo music and then promote music together as a group. Here's the TEA. Blackpink and YG in general dislike the fact that Blackpink is being compared or being mentioned in the same sentence as BTS. There are multifandom groups but in media in general it is distasteful for YG Entertainment to be continuesly be leveled with BTS as if they haven't broken that glass Ceiling yet. As if the LIMIT is always Boy Group's shadows. BLACKPINK themselves Deserves and WORTH more than being in the same sentence as Boy groups in a different company that has a different agenda.

So I deeply appreciate your emotional response to what you’ve seen so far, I really do. I’ve found that I’ve been more annoyed with new reactors mostly finding out they can get hella views and sub by reacting to Blackpink and it’s sometimes hard to find genuine appreciation for them, so I’m definitely down with you and your reactions cuz they feel authentic, real, and genuine to me. Do not apologize for doing this kind of video cuz true blinks want you to learn about them. You’re going to find that if you think you love them now, just wait till you really get to know them. It honestly goes without saying that each and every one of them is insanely gorgeous and talented but for me, what really puts them over the top, is that they are are super cute, funny, hard working caring, down to earth, and just good people. my speculation had been right. Teddy Park, their main producer, once said in Blackpink's Netflix doucmentary film, one of the Blackpink marketing strategies is to prolong each Blackpink comeback schedule as long as they can hold. the reason is to make Blackpink's fans crave for more of Blackpink music. the longer they wait, the bigger the desire will be. you know what, it has been working so successfully since the strategy has been implemented. of course their music must be good to begin with and indeed it does. even till today they are still doing it for their next comeback which is supposed to have taken place but still not yet. fan's complains have been getting bigger and angrier. however YG entertainment is still ignoring them. IMO they don't need to continue to implement the strategy anymore as the girls are way too big and popular. with or without the strategy, the girls will definitely do great with their next comeback regardless. anyway fans and blinks have no choice but will just have to wait patiently until then.

There are many Blackpink introductions. There are fun ones, which i would recommend you check first, and there are the more serious documentaries (e.g., by Netflix, The Asian Theory, fan made), which i would recommend you check towards the end. I had great time watching the goofy side of Blackpink first as this is where their true characters shine and then learned their journey after. In the end, you'll learn there are two sides of Blackpink's character, the savage black and the adorable pink. So i would say watch: (no rush) - an (un)helpful guide to blackpink (2019 version) - fan made. Choose the 2019 version with the most views. - ‘blackpink: journey and friendship - fan made - The Revolution: A Story of BLACKPINK - The Asian Theory - Netflix Documentary called "Blackpink: Light Up The Sky" - other content

The main factor that I can see behind BP's success is their quality of music. When I first heard of the name blackpink in 2016 I didn't even bother checking them out, thinking ok it's just another pop group like so many others I'd seen. But when I finally gave one song a listen I found it really enjoyed it. Then I tried their other songs and I ended up liking all their songs which doesn't happen much with me. I'm very picky in music. For me music will always be priority, not the artist. I listen to Coldplay, 1D, Taylor, Selena, Ariana, M5 & many many more & i like many of their songs but some not so much. BP became the first artist whose All songs i enjoyed, which surprised me. Their discography may be small but it's quality over quantity. I prefer that way. Another reason for their discography being small is that they don't work with a huge variety of producers unlike many other groups who have a wide range of producers to create songs. And that ensures the BP/YG quality. Winner became the 2nd group whose all songs I enjoyed & this is a guy group also under YG who produce their own songs. I enjoy many songs of bts too but also many that I don't like. Hence though I still have some fav bts songs, I'm not into the group itself. Even in terms of vocals I've heard much better from other guy groups. Anyway it was fun watching your video.

If you want to see more about SM entertainment I'd recommend Kim Taeyeons solo work ad well as the group she was I'm Gorls Generation, the nation's girl group from 2nd generation. Or red velvet from 3rd and Arspa from 4th. But girls generation or SNSD was my intro to kpop since 2007. I adore Blackpink but I am so thankful for the groups that came first that has given Blackpink the chance to rise above. I feel like if they were 2nd generation the world would not have been so open to them. But we love hard working and talented men and women in kpop. Regardless of generation.

Yes, trainee training can last years and only a small margin of all trainees will actually make it to a solo or group debut. It's extremely comprehensive training. Trainees must live together in a complex and they essentially sign a contract that says they will spend most of their time devoted to their training. They learn music, singing, performance, language, camera presence, and extremely precise and synchronized choreography to each and every single. It's extremely demanding and a lot of Idols take mental health breaks or leave the system entirely. The ones that make it big are devoted completely to their work and never stop. Being an Idol is no easy task, they must live up to extreme pressure to be perfect. That's why they're called Idols as opposed to pop stars. Depending on the label, contracts can limit certain activities in trainees like no tattoos or real piercings to no dating. I believe that has loosened up a bit recently as more Westerners are interested in K-Pop and those job performances are more under scrutiny. Idols aren't slaves but they do have to present themselves in a very certain way because of Korean culture. That's why most Idols in person will seem to be extremely different than when they are in "performance' mode. Western performers are under scrutiny but not the same level of pressure from their label to be perfect. But it's also a symbiotic relationship. Because training takes so long, it weeds out the people who might not be able to hack the pressure of being an Idol and what it will mean to their life and freedom. As for video, it's a bit dated but it at least gives you the basic info. Blackpink has more than 9 songs out now. Not all have music videos for them but you will find lyric videos for each song for most k-Pop groups that show the English translation as well as the name and picture of who's singing each line so you can learn names when you're learning a new group.
