Who Are Star Rail's Aeon Emanators? | Honkai Star Rail Lore

The Aeons are godlike beings who are granted tremendous powers by the paths that they follow and occasionally they would impart some of their powers to their emanators. While we have heard this terms a few times in the story who are star rail aeon emanators
Put simply the emanators are those that have gained access to a path and has been given a blessing by their specific aeons. The Emanators are extremely powerful individuals who have a small portion of the powers of their aeons and are considered semi god-like. In this video we will talk about Star Rails Aeon Emanators and list down the emanators who we have met throughout the story
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

@@SkillOp nope. There are multiple emanators on each path. Like Lords Ravagers, officers of Antimatter legion are all emanators of Destruction. They are so powerful so they can destroy planets, and only onther force that can stop them is another emanator, like Herta, who is Emanator of Erudition, being member of Genius society, which means that all members of Genius Society are Emanators of Erudition. Aeons are here instead of Herrschers and Archons.

JY worships and follows the Hunt, but that doesn't mean he and others don't pull power from other Paths, which are noted to be concepts people just pull power from even unconciously.

Herta has been confirmed by silver wolf in tutorial if you interact with her portrait. The entirety of genius society should be nous emanator as stated in the lore they directly recieved nous blessing via signal personally sent to them by nous itself. Thanks to that sserkal a spider manage to join as emanator and create one of the genius star body relic.

The only erudition emanators that we know of , is Herta and Zandar . Emanator is a person that received power from an Aeon , not just the blessing. Everyone playable in HSR has received a blessing of their path.

Jing Yuan is not an emanator. His power is tied to his position as General of the Luofu. If he steps down from his position he will lose his power. The spirit he wields is the personification of Lan - Aeon of The Hunt and it is only accessible by whoever has the rank "General". As a funny sidenote, in the story, Fu Xuan is a strong candidate for taking Jing Yuan's position as general; imagine a Fu Xuan wielding Lightning Lord :)

Black Swan's dialogue in the latest penacony quest pretty much confirms he is one. If you also use the pistol in the curio room back in the herta space station it gives Acheron and Jing Yuan the same rating.

So when Acheron comes out, we can cross check March 7th and Sampo being emanators by checking Acheron on the rating pistol. Emanators are thought to get a "rating invalid" from it, it would definitely track. In the case of Herta's rating, she's always just a puppet and the pistol does rate nonliving objects and Svarog. And Black Swan probably just lied somewhere along the line.

If this is true, this would also make Jing Yuan an emanator. I've tested a handful of characters and Acheron, Sampo, March and Jing Yuan are all rated as "invalid".

So herta dolls are future proof they are emanator, because they hold the power different person which doesnt show us her identity but we know her name is Herta. Or maybe she just told you she has like that name but in reality she is called different:)

I think that the Trailblazer forcefully taking Aeon's blessings would be very badass. But I don't think that they take it by force, and I don't think that he became an emanator of Qlipoth either. I think that he's an emanator of Akivili, the Aeon of the Trailblaze path, and maybe my reasons are too insane and I'm looking too much into it, but here it goes. As far as I know, there are only 3 things that we know about the MC related to their character, motivations, and attitude: 1. He wants to navigate his own path. One of the main plots of the story is about the MC not wanting to be categorized, experimented on, or even retained in a single place for a long period, they want to be free, and they want to understand themselves by traveling around the galaxy, observing multiple people and cultures to better grasp the contents of the whole universe. 2. He likes trash. Ok, here is where I'll admit that maybe this is looking too much into a joke, but it's worth the try. Trash, conceptually speaking, is something that's constantly moving and reshaping itself. First materials are extracted, then products are made, and when they no longer fullfil a purpose, they are thrown away and they transform into trash. Trash itself then regains a purpose, it can be by recycling but it's more than that, as the famous saying goes "One man's trash is another one's treasure". You could say that travelers share a lot with... trash, and I don't mean it as an insult. If we think about the crew of the Astral Express, as far as we know all of them "no longer serve their original purpose" as a person, and have joined the train to become something else, to regain purpose. March 7th was litterally "thrown away", in this case into space, which you could think of as a giant infinite trashcan where you can throw whatever and you would never see it again, and she's now trying to regain purpose by finding out who she was before she became "trash". Dan Heng was also forced to abandon his original purpose as a Cloud Knight, and went into the giant trashcan we call space to find a new purpose by fleeing from his old purpose. Welt quite literally abandoned his original world, and with it his original purpose, to fullfil a new one. About Himeko and PomPom we know too little to include them in this analysis. My point is that conceptually, trash may resonate a lot with the path of Trailblaze. 3. Dialogue options. I don't know which point is more crazy, the one about the conceptual importance of trash, or this one, so let's start by remembering one of the only things we know about the path of Trailblaze. "There are three directions on the compass of destiny - the Unknown, the Known, and the Unknowable" -Data Bank, Aeons. The Unknown, the Known, and the Unknowable are, in total, three different directions, which often align with the number of dialogue options that our character has, and in a crucial point in the story Kafka reveals that Elio's script predicted three possible questions that the MC could make, which I know it's a weak point to make, but a point worth making nontheless. Also, it's interesting how there seems to be a couple of recurring themes through the dialogue options of the MC. There are two achievements related to these options. We unlock one of them when we chose multiple times a dialogue option that "repeats" what other character said, and this makes me think of the direction on the compass of destiny called "The Known", since we are saying something that quite literally everyone there knows because it was said moments ago. The other achievement consists of choosing multiple times the dialogue option that consists in just staying quiet, which could be the direction on the compass of destiny named "The Unknown", because, well, if you don't know anything about a certain topic, you would stay silent, because you can't contribute anything. That lets us with the direction called "The Unkowable", and I'm going to shamelessly asign that to the "regular" dialogue options related to Stelarons, because the MC is the first living being with a Stelaron inside of them, thus making their knowledge and insight "unkowable" to anyone but them. So, with all of this said, I conclude that the MC strongly resonates with the path of Trailblaze, but does this have anything to do with the fact that he can change between the paths of Destruction and Preservation (and eventually more) willingly? Yes. I believe that the concepts of constant travel and learning about multiple cultures are the core source of power for the path of Trailblaze, and the "powers" that said path give are not of his own Aeon, if that makes sense. It's all about being a sponge that learns from others, someone without a home, without a homeland, without a fixed religion centered around one single Aeon. The Astral Express travels and connects not only worlds, but people, and subsequently, religions and Aeons, so it would be logical to assume that the powers of a Trailblaze resonator would revolve around other Aeons lending them their powers. So yeah, that was my way too long essay, thanks for reading, I'm interested in knowing your thoughts and if I missed something, feel free to let me know, I love the lore of this game.

No worries, I tend to overthink the lore sometimes as well heres some responses 1. He wants to navigate his own path. The mc does say this as one of their idle lines but the irony of the whole thing is that he/she seems to unfortunately be following the script that the stellaron hunters want them to follow like with whats happening in xianzhou luofu. I think they do want to find their own path but whether the bigger players will let them is a whole other issue. With the story revolving around paths and futures/fates and such it would be interesting to see mc just ignore all that and does whatever they want which may tie back to how they get emanator like powers, they just took it 2. Honestly I thought you were kinda reaching for this and I honestly think the whole trash thing is just a gag but that said I think there is something to be said about the nameless being people who were abandoned or I think just pathless as in aimless and have no goals. It seems that each of them have no direction before getting on the astral express and are given purpose through the trailblazing, i think they each have a past they may try to run from or just have no idea how to deal with and eventually through their adventures will find answers for it. So im not sold on the trash but the idea that they could be people who are just abandoned seems really interesting conceptually 3. The choices being tied to the 3 directions is an interesting idea but I think the choices are just good, neutral and bad kinda like in mass effect with paragon and renegade choices. What I do find more interesting is the unknown, known and unknowable and where the trailblazing conceptually sits as well as how they transition between each state. We know that akivili once travelled across most of the known universe and the nameless are now just retracing his path so I suppose that would be the unknown being made known? There also the path of enigmata whos aeon, mythus goes out of its way to obscure knowledge making the known into unknown but what about the unknowable, is it like you mentioned being just something only an individual would know. Yeah im rambling already but generally i find the concept interesting and am curious how they will expand on it What I suspect is that those who resonate with trailblazing may have the odd ability to essentially choose whatever path they wish to be on and as an extension gain abilities from it. If we take aeons as an example they gain immense power but at the expense of being completely tied to their path. Nanook only cares of destruction while Qlipoth only cares about preserving things. Maybe this is why akivili was supposedly killed, maybe having an aeon that could conceptually encroach on any path was just something the aeons didnt want. This is just a mad theory though and purely head canon 😁

Id say that to be called an eminator it would take more then to just been gazed upon by an aeon. Like Achron, is an actual eminator. Jing Yuan is one of the seven Arbiter Generals, also knows as Vanguards of The Hunt. I believe it is heavily suggested that they are all Emanators. I think I did hear it was confirmed that Jing Yuan is indeed an Emanator, but I don’t exactly remember where I heard this.

While I like Emanators, I do wonder since Aeons are the pinnacle of their path, does that mean that Qlipoth being preservation must also preserve Nanook's destruction? What about Lan? If Lan manages to make Yaoshi go poof does he also go poof or will he hunt something else? How far can we push their paths? If Nanook is destruction, will that lead to him destroying himself too one day? I think they are so bound to their concept that they either seek a new outcome for their form/status or are so one track minded that they don’t consider what they may become. If Nanook destroys all he will cease to be Destruction but Everything and therefore the only god left making him god over the wreckage. When an Aeon’s purpose ends then they either change or combine into a more fitting Aeon’s presence. But even then if Nanook became Everything, would a Nothing rise as well? I just love the concept of the Aeons and find them so fascinating for the world building.

I don't think gameplay dictates what a character path is, as Dan should be a descendant of Long he should follow the path of Permanence, because even if the Aeon is dead the path will still exist unless it's absorbed on another path

I’ve been wondering if they’re just gonna have the playable paths cover certain unplayable paths based on how close their ideals are. Ex: Nihility could cover Elation because Elation sort of represents the Absurdism to the Nihility’s Nihilism. Sampo could be an example of an Elation character being put under the umbrella of Nihility. Another example could be Remembrance being tied to Preservation. March 7th could be the representation of this.

My biggest problem with this whole thing is that in-game path and lore path are two different things. There are so many characters for whom the in-game path is just a class and they should be following a different path, e.g. Ruan Mei and Ratio, both clearly following Nous and Erudition, but being Harmony and Hunt. Or the general being Erudition and not Hunt. I know that if the in-game path followed the lore we would swim in Preservation and Hunt, so it kinda makes sense to mix and match, but it still bothers me lol.

Pathstriders do not only take power from one path. Lan is someone who doesn't care about anything other than Yaoshi's death, so JY using Erudition because it fits his methods/power outside of just Hunt checks out.

Luocha is now confirmed to directly have recieved the powers of the Plagues Author by Jing Yuan so you can say he is an Emenator of Abundance.Imbibitor Lunae and all the other Long Scions are also confirmed to be Emenators of Permnence. Also i think Argenti would be an Emenator of Beauty since he is part of the Knights of Beauty who are the most devoted followers of Idrilla and other Emenators look down on them because they dont seek for power like they do which could mean they have the potential to be as string as them if thwy tried

Jing Yuan is not directly confirmed to be an Emanator, only known to have received Lan's blessing. Trailblazer has also only received blessings from Nanook and Qlipoth. Herta is an Emanator, but we're playing one of her androids, which I can have one guess that is able to 'pathstride' due to connection to Herta herself. Phantylia is an Emanator for sure, but I'm uncertain if we faced her full self, or some split flame of her heliobi form. That's it for anyone we've met. So really, we've never met an Emanator in a confirmed full strength way, unless Phantylia really was that - her full nature isn't quite confirmed. There seems to be a difference between receiving a blessing of an Aion (in which case you're only selectively taken care of) and becoming an Emanator, something which gives off more of a sense of the Aion going "You won't be the same as me, but go nuts with all you got."

Its an older video, at the time information on the emanator were scarce and there were a lot of implications as to who was considered as one. Also there are more than a few confirmed emanators currently like Diamond from the IPC is also confirmed to be an emanator of preservation at least as far the data banks are concerned and phantylia who is a lord ravager of nanook and emanator of destruction. The wiki also considers black swan as an emanator though I dont personally know where this was confirmed
