A modern concept beginning with the Jed Burghs of WW2 fame, the US Special Forces are a force multiplier. I am a humble grunt, a mere 11B NCO having served in four different Infantry regiments. But I have two uncles who served (and proudly wore) the Green Beret in multiple combat tours of Vietnam and Laos; as well as a cousin who currently serves as a Green Beret. To say that I have a bit of hero-worship of these elite forces is an understatement. I appreciate the "Coffee or Die Magazine" synopsis of these fine, if often misunderstood Warriors. FOLLOW ME!

They are Authors, Idols, have a action figure and are yeah pretty capable but can you imagine that dude that wouldn't let them wear the berray if he seen them now. Anymore the public thinks the only people who fight are Seals or army SF. Yet if you look alot of the time a Marine grunt or even Army Airborne has far more actual combat experience from living out in the combat zone and not flying back to go eat burger king every day. Now this is actually not very true about Green Beret they often stay out in the AO and are great operators but this is very true about units like NSW who I have personaly seen getting schooled by 20yr old line company guys in Fallujah because they kept fucking up bad real fucking bad I won't even say because I do have respect for them it's just the reality. Just take a look at there gear spotless we're I've seen infantry guys walk around for a month with their buddies blood still on them and not notice. The point is it's getting crazy the most secretive unit ever and everyone has two book deals a you tube channel and action figure? Give me a break I've talked with operators from other countries who laugh at us all of them who do you think you never hardly see Australian SAS guys on their channels or GIGN and they compare themselves to being as secretive as Sayret Makal.

If I understand correctly, the literal translation of the motto from Latin is "from (being) an oppressed man, (to being) a free one". Which makes sense, since the Special Forces main goal is to train and teach others (primarily guerillas and partizans) on how to fight and liberate themselves.
