Thatif you want mercy you need a postive attuide and do good deeds and god will show mercy. he is saying to the people god wants us to be good dont follow or copy the people that will go to hell follow the resposbile ones the ones that are going to heaven god could of let them burn in fire but he warns the ones he knows he would trust the ones that deserve to go to heaven Thats what he is trying to explain
