Yes there is. I have been in Devil’s gap. It’s really hard to get in there, but it’s so cool. I saw that path and it leads into Devil’s gap indeed. There isn’t much in there but there are some paths, an old runestone and some butterfly’s flying around lmao.

I'm not sure about "evil witches". They began to kill people because Jon Jarl was destroying the nature of Jorvik to build cities and farms. It's more a defensive way than an evil one. And Thompson was the worst, that's why they cursed him. Same for the Valas and Dark Core, like Dark Core is trying to destroy Jorvik, they can't work together. And Valas hate humans because of Jon Jarl so neither in their mind. (I'm not sure about my english as well ^^' )

Nor the Valas nor Thompson looks evil to me. You perfectly described the feeling the Valas could had seeing those brutes invading their homelands and ruining everything. Then for Thompson it was how he was trained and raised, lot of conquerors truely believed that what they were doing was for the best, and that the others were evil. The only evil here is the leader, Jon Jarl. It's him who led his soldiers to do that.

It seems like the valas work more like guardians wanting to protect the natural magical energies of the island. cities seems to diminish the natural flow of magic. Since it takes away the space for plant and wild life. They where in the land before John jarl, he and his people are the outside force. In their eyes killing a man after they started killing the soul, the magic, natural energy given to the island by Aidin herself would be seen as much worse.

this is all so true, imo. Also that when Star Stable revamped Silverglade Village, they kept the Vala statue from the old village. So that means the Vala has been planned for some time now. I was honestly super suspicious that that they kept it

I just now noticed some things Firstly, what if the team decided to do wildwoods this early because it took them too much time to work on other things that have connections to the story already? It's possible that they had a block of creativity for something between saving Fripp and the Vala, or maybe something we don't even know is yet to come. And so they'd might've decided that they want to first do wildwoods, a fresh idea that they thought suited and could just go on with new ideas. Wildwoods might've been their way to get out of the seemingly endless block till they got any new ideas for the current main story. They've to make sure that what they say in new quests doesn't go against something they once before said afterall. And btw is it just me who thinks that some parts of wildwoods might end up just like Fort Maria? Hyped up in their time but only for way later story quests? Secondly, there's actually quite interesting opportunities if you would add that character (can't remember her name) to the Vala. It's possible that she might become a bridge between the witches and the Druids. Like she might have a good heart but be with the Vala because she's a witch and that's the safest place for her. Or she might be an outside witch who will come with us to the Vala to talk to them and try to show them that not everything about the humans is bad. There are actually quite many possibilities how she could be a part of those quests. Thirdly, I don't think that the Vala would be working with Dark Core. They both may seem evil but they have from our information completely different reasons to be soo. Darf Core want to destroy while the Vala want to protect the origins. Honestly the Vala and the druids from our information have similar goals but different ways of going on to those goals. I could more imagine that maybe the Vala actually cursed some of the Dark Core members from what we know about the Vala. Like as example maybe something similar as with Thompson happened with Sands? We all know his wife died and then he practically became evil (don't feel like going into detail on that part), so what if he did something against the nature of Jorvik and then the Vala got mad at him? What if something like that happened to the other members of Dark Core as well? We don't know, but their goals are too different in my opinion for them to work together. The only way I can see them ever working together is if the druids did/do something to anger the Vala.

I’m hoping we’ll be able to convince the vala to join our side instead of “defeating them”. I feel like if Anne is visiting the vala to go with her plan, she might be able to convince them to help us. And if we follow Anne and join her, we have a better chance of getting the vala to our side, because we (our characters) helped the life wardens. They wanted to protect them, as we do, so it makes sense that we’d be able to convince them to join us?

I came up with something, though it doesn't have alot of proof, and it has some things working against it: Possibly the rune stones could help in raising Garnok, that could be a reason for the Druids trying to contain the magic, if they truly are that powerful then they would be a great asset for Dark Core, they hold the power of all four circles (unless I am mistaken) and Dark Core display great interest in power of that level (which is obvious) with power of that level under their control, who knows what they would be capable of.

ok spoilers to the 2nd star stable book While I see immortality as a curse in general, I don't think it drained Aideen's light out of Galloper Thomson. Look at Fripp, he's immortal and the face of the Keepers of Aideen. I also think Roselia (I dont think that was her name, its the woman Mr. Sands was in love with before becoming immoral.) was a Vala. So, yes, I do think they were an enemy to the Keepers of Aideen, who seemed to be the one to kill her. It doesn't sit with me to say they're exactly evil though. I think they crafted the runestones (since they contain Pandorian magic, Pandoria accepts them.) and also those statues. But the runestones are actually connected to our powers. When we get near them, they glow. Maybe they were made for the final battle to power the light of Aideen dangerously strong, so we try to lock up their magic in fear of that powerful light escaping. But then again, there's not much out there. They could be evil, or they could be good. Or they could be for neither side and just doing their own thing.

I know I have commented on this video a lot, but I just have another fun (though kind of dumb) idea / prediction for a future quest: Maybe the Vala, if we ever meet them, may give us a choice, to accept a gift (curse) or to decline their offer, to have them turn on you. (Also in some cases Vala means 'mare')

one of the most recent new quests in fort maria with Beatrix, i remember when we had to look for books for the ghost/spirit, i believe one of the books mentioned valedale as 'valadal' or correct me if im wrong, i cant fully remember but i know it was something similar to that. that name is cleary the more ancient name of valedale and changed over the years to what it currently is.

I think maybe the Vala are based on the mythical Veela, known to be shapeshifters and guardians of the forests and wild places. They were also known to poison streams hunters drank from and turn into deer and horses as occasion called. They took great offense to those who hunted in their forests and cut down their trees, and sometimes even gave aegis to young woman who sought shelter in their forest from heartbreak or abuse, turning them into Veela as well.

due to the recent quests, the ones about Pi being a horse, i have a theory Eleanor! we know the "dark force" that appears in the hollow woods once we've found some clues is NOT Garnok or anything to do with the Dark Riders. Fripp even confirmed it himself. therefore, i believe it could have been the Vala for this reason. the Vala can preform very dark magic, because of what they did to Thompson, and i have no idea the extent of their magic as it has not been explained but im pretty confident they could be able to make trees move/people hallucinate as it could have not been real. obviously we've seen moving trees in jorvik before with the quest about the harp of Aideen. im not saying the Vala did this, but i doubt it was Garnok/ Dark Riders (or anything linked to Pandoria) and it turns out Fripp was wrong. again, it could have been something else but that is what i think so far. as i continued the quest of going to fort maria, it turns out i was right! it WAS the Vala who created that dark energy. there is not really much more to say because we haven't learnt much more about the Vala yet, i am currently on a rep blocker so once i've done that and completed the quest i will tell you.

I think the new Halloween quest is related to the Vala. Some mysterious witch gave him his powers and in present times reminded him about his horse’s name and it was up on a path that seems to lead to devils gap but that we can’t reach right next to the sleeping widow

Weird thought but I was thinking that the Vala could be those hooded figures from the Mistfall Series. NPCS have mentioned that the vala/witches were 'some kind of cult with horses', and we know from the Mistfall Series that the hooded figures possess some kind of magical ability with the emblem Skye and Blaze are marked with. The mark clearly has a 'V' cut right in the centre. Just my own little theory

Cult with horses has been actually shown in the game too during the halloween quests. The halloween trail ride there are hooded people in a circle who resemble super much the druids we know of. In the middle of them is a horse laying down as they chant something creepy stuff. Definitely a cult lol :'D Then they disappear as we get close and garnok (or a part of him, a tentacle to be exact) emerges from the middle. If the star shine legact stuff are still legit, there must be 4 keys activated to free garnok. In the og games there were 4 symbols for every soul rider which we had to destroy so garnok wouldn't be freed. This circular thing garnok emerged in sso, could resemble one of the activated keys to free him. Maybe the whole cult is for freeing garnok.

Maybe they just have became mislead and currupted or something like that, and really just wanna preserve Aideens legacy? They seem separete from DC and maybe we will convince them to help us save jorvik?

Personally, I think the Vala might not be pure evil or maybe not even evil! I think they only lash out when it is done to Jorvik, so they do have a greater good in mind which is important to note. But I'm really curious how things will pan out and how Star Stable will make them! I just hope they won't make stereotypically just plain evil witches and instead something more complex.

I think their are alot of twists to yet to take place. It's easy to say the Vala are the enemy, but what i think is that we players have been lied to by the keepers of aideen and Fripp. Didn't Avalon say Pi and Fripp have some history during the saving Fripp quest? What if the Vala used to be druids like Pi? And have lived on Jorvik as long as Fripp and Jon jarl have? Mabye when Fripp arrived on Jorvik and created the keeprs of aideen the witches ( now Vala) were invited to become a druid and help protect the island of Garnok and all other evil that threathens to destroy the island. And for a couple of centuries the Vala and the druids lived in perfect harmony protecting the island's nature, people, animals etc but when Jon jarl came to Jorvik claiming the land the balance of keeping peace went downhills... When jon jarl decided to destroy lots of nature to build city's and stuff like the destroyed forest on the forgotten fields and some primivail tree's the Vala were outraged. Mabye they all had a meeting in the secret stone circle ( Fripp, Jon, the vala, druids etc..) after Jon's actions. Fripp did a vote round. evantually Jon won and got to carry on with his plans to build and destory on the island. Mabye the Vala were also part of the autorities of the island. Mabye they also weren't really allowed to voice their opinion. So they deceided to take matters in to their own hand when they saw how the nature, animals, some volks were suffering cause Jon jarl was in control. Mabye they not only curesd the forgotten fields and some other parts of the land because nature was destroyed. mabye Jon Jarl looked so good, decent and innocent from the outside but from inside he was very different. mabye he killed lots of innocent people and animals as well. Mabye because volks were trying to voice their opinion or because they were witches or druids they got killed off for no reason. Mabye some people knew dark secrets about Jon that weren't supposed to be revealed in public. That some people or witches like the Vala spreaded dirty and shady secrets about Jon's darkside like killing living things to gain power, money etc. Mabye Jon and Fripp also had a conspiracy going on to help each other and give each other power and stuff and not sharing it with witches cause they were less, dangerous, not important. And when the Vala and other people revealed that Jon decided to eliminate those innocent people who were voicing their opinion and concerns and warnings about Jarl's darkside, history and dangerous plans for the island. And that set off the Vala to take action and get revenge on Jon jarl. So they started cursing fields, places and stuff. And they also started attacking Jon and his army of guards and the keepers of aideen. So a massive war begun for a few months. Pi lead the witches and Fripp and Jon the druids and the army of Jon Evantually the witches lost the war and as a punishment for losing and conspiring together to use their dark magic to curse the land, attack Jon and his army etc they were banished from the druid order and their place in the autorities. Pi was the leader and got the biggest punishement banished from the keepers of aideen, not allowed to ever speak of this event or all other secrets and stuff, not allowed to ever us her powers again to curse ( of course that promise was broken). All other witches needed to stay quit, leave the keepers of aideen and leave the island. If they didn't listen Fripp would trap them in Pandoria. But of course that didn't happen.. After that some witches left the island, other started their life over in the far North and then their were some who found each other and deceided to become a group and live in devils Gap and curse the land of the forgotten fields out of anger. So notthing grows their like we know with the Maya quest. When Fripp discoverd their were still some witches on the island he decided to let them be but still watch them from a distance. The Vala managed to stay in the shadows away from the keepers of aideen being able to perfom spells and stuff they started by blocking the entrance from the forgotten fields to Devils Gap near the sleeping Widow and putting mist all around the place. Since then notthing was heard from these witches... Until some rumors and stories started to spread around Jorvik about the misty place now called Devils Gap. Jon started inspecting the place just outside jarlaheim. Jarlaheim wasn't as big at the time. Their were lots of complains about the place. Some people who dared to enter the misty, scary, cold and abondoned place got back al scared from believing to see weird hooded people, strange lights, talking horses and weird ceremony's performed by witches. Some even said it was the Vala witches who according to legends and stories were the founders of the island along side the druids and Jon jarl. Most people didn't believe the people claiming to see all that. Jon decided to pay the place a visit. According to him there was notthing their that that place beholds alot of archeological foundings that should stay untouched and the people saying these things he made out for crazy people. What he didn't tell was that he indeed saw the Vala. To make sure no one enterd that place again and to keep the Vala away from the people. he builded a wall and a closed door. That way he hoped all the rumors stopped. But of course some people holded on to the legends. Most people moved on. Since then no one has ever been down their again except for some adventurers and people who like to break the rules.

Another hint I've noticed is that Evergrey can read the runestones language, I totally forgot what language it's called or if they ever told us what it was called, but I wonder..can Anne read the language too? It would be absurd, knowing she was trapped in a giant pink crystal for months, but it was in Pandoria, Evergrey is related to Pandoria, sooooooo? Maybe just maybe? I know that wouldn't make much sense, BUT! Who knows? Evergrey could help us read the Runestones, which has been on my mind for a while. If the Vala created them, they might've only wanted the Vala to read them, since only certain people knew the language. He knows a lot of things that we don't know. He knows how to read the language, and kind of about them, right? I can't confirm that he knows all that much about them though, but just a theory. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if the Vala are actually not evil at all, but have just been described as such. Or perhaps they will seem evil because they have different perspectives or priorities, but the more we get to know them we will see that they aren't in fact evil.

Valas aren't evil, just tarnished by their strong will to protect Jorvik's nature, John Jarl came and began destroying the nature life to build civilization and didn't even asked for permission to be on the island by the people that were already there. If someone comes and invades your place won't you be angry as well? After all you were there first and already made that home. Also the Valas are the ones that have more connection with Jovirk than the actual inhabitants, they hate John Jarl's descendants, but that makes me think....When time comes that we meet them, will the Valas hate us as well? Will they recognize the Soul Riders as the daughters of Aideen? They protect her so much but, will they go against the ones that are doing the same as them? We all know the Druids aren't exactly the all light 'cause they keep too much secrets and even the Soul Riders are starting to doubt and rejecr some of their beliefs (me included), so at one point we do have the same goal: protect the island at any costs.

I don't actually think the Vala are evil. They are just really really really pissed off and the Jorvegians are scared of that and don't know better so they describe them as evil. I think we as the player are supposed to think that as well, but I don't remember hearing anything about them actually doing something evil. Except for maybe killing a guy, which was definitely not good, but as far as I know they were trying to protect themselves and the island from invaders, just like colonism in real life. They may not have taken the best course of action, but we don't know all of the story, plus it wasn't an attackt but rather defense. The settlers cut down the forest and the life guardians (I'll never remember the name of the trees...) and the Vala wanted to protect the land so that made them furious. They cursed the land so the settlers would leave it alone and retreated to devils gap. Devils gap is another story, I don't know too much about it but as far as I know it's supposed to be evil which might make the Vala evil as well. But I kinda still believe in the Vala. I'd interpret the storyline with Maya being about rebuilding the forgotten fields. Her family status is "unfortunate" in the Charakter book, we're getting reputation quests there and there is a updated model of the dews farm. So I'd imagine we'll get to know one of the Vala somehow and then slowly have to build trust with the group via another reputation. Of course only we can do that because light of Aideen and stuff since Aideen would want to protect nature as much as the Vala (or they're connected) and when we start growing our reputation with the Vala they'll start to lift the curse, Maya's family status will start to change from "unfortunate" (cursed land, can't grow anything) to "fortunate" (loads of fertile land, happy with her family and working together with the Vala to protect the fields) over multiple stages and the forfotten fields will get updated to match the story. But that's only my theory, I'd be happy to hear what you think about it or if you find any mistakes that could disprove it! ^^

Yes I was thinking of Middle Earth as well. I don't think the Jorvik Valar are evil, and I think they are more like gods or higher beings, than just witches. The Valar in Tolkiens world are gods and godesses, and VERY powerful. And when it comes to the Jorvik Valar, Jon Jarl was destroying their lands, of course they will be angry. I think the curse on the lands are kind of like the sinking of Númenor (but not in the same scale). Men grew greedy, and defiedthe "rules", and then they were punished.

Also, Tolkien took inspiration from different mythologies when he wrote his stories. But it is also kind of impossible to not take inspiration from his stories when it comes to creating a fantasy story, they are kind of the original fantasy stories.

Because of that I see more inspiration from Tolkien in sso then before. And I started think about Tolkien because of Vala too. @@Tulackyvrch I don't think they are going to introduce a new villain, so hopefully that won't happen. I don't know if it is intentional, but Garnok is actually a little bit like Morgoth. He (as far as we know) wants to destroy Jorvik, like Morgoth wanted to destroy middle earth. He is also locked in pandoria, like Morgoth is locked behind the walls of night. Garnok is also using Mr Sands to help him escape and bring on the end of the world, kind of like at the end of Middle Earth, Morgoth discovers that the guards of the walls of night has left, and he will escape. He will then start Dagor Dagorath (Battle of all battles) and the world will end, and be made new.

Totally random thought regarding the Buttergoods as vampires theory and the possibility of the Winterwells being werewolves (I think it was them If I'm incorrect I have really bad memory sorry). I COMPLETELY forgot which quest line this is from and it's probably Maya's horse one, Someone says something about the Buttergoods and the Winterwells having a large battle of some kind a long time ago (I forgot the little details) and it seems to explain that both families are monsters of some kind (obviously vampires on the Buttergood side) and basically having a family feud. Sounds like it could make for a fun quest line if SSO were to make one :D Another very very random thought. (Yes, I'm full of random theories) What people thought was bread island actually ISN'T! It was actually confirmed. A friend of mine (who happens to be a KZbinr) posted a video of her doing some parkour with a friend to reach the island (the little one next to Cape Sorrow) and didn't get an area notification. Confirming it isn't that island. A friend once told me her theory about Bread Island and aka "Butterfields Noble Isle" (We don't have a Butterfield family, just Buttergoods) basically saying the ''Butterfields" are the Buttergood's cousins\ relatives and that Bread Island isn't added in the game yet (and I don't see it coming soon or even ever).

I have one theory I figured out by myself while watching all Statshine PC games, all Winter, Summer,...Riders + comic books. I was thinking about it and I think that Pandoria is down under Jorvik. Throwing some memories back...Sleeping Widow once told us in the quest that she can reach Pandoria. If this mystery place is under us...then it also explains that Garnok was there but he could reach (in one of Starshine game) the ground of Devil's gap. This place is cursed. That's right and I am impressed by the video. Workers died there when they were mining there and the place was closed. But why Alex could go there? Why Ann wants to go there? Maybe...it is still a powerful place where you can use your magic, cast spells. Maybe witches Vala can "help" u? They took souls from those workers. And if you read some quests, you know why this actually happened. There was a huge forest in Forgotten Fields, which was destroyed by humans, bcs they wanted to build a horse farm (Jorvik stables). John Jarl yes...was and is the men thag witches got angry with. Also a farm later but why those people needed to leave? What is those animals were possessed by some magic? Talking also about Pandoria...in New Hillcrest one man(worker) mentioned that also in New Hill people kinda saw something "purple" coming out. The name was/is Drakonium, bcs of the woman in Jarleheim I think. (I need to clarify this again) So I really think that Pandoria is under the surface. My theory.

I think the vala is good, cuz in thwe maing guest a vala witch helps us. Also a theory: the srceams in mistfall are from an insane redwood ranger, who was locked in the firetower, when the got there she dissapeared, and hey found out rhat the door was locked from the inside, somepeople say, the srceams for help still can be heard.

What if they are working togeather (dark ore and vala) as i believe you have mentioned before the Anne we saved could not be the real Anne and what if she is a witch from vala that has used magic to appear as Anne and working for dark core to try and stop us from healing the frip by taking the five leaf clover and taking it to dark core being that it would be a very powerful thing for them Eather this could stop here or what if in the process of finding this witch we find out she has left the rest of vala/devils gap to work with dark core and despite all that we here about vala they are really on our side the stories are from when they had been seen by regular jorvik people and they assumed they were doing evil and stories were made to scare everyone but we will team up with them to defeat garnok or dark core?

I don't think the Vala are evil. Everything they did was a form of protecting from Jon Jarl destroying it, especially since Jorvik is supposed to be a peaceful place of nature and horses. The rune stones also might not be this evil magic. The druids are trying to withhold the powers in them from getting out, but that doesn't mean that that magic is going to do harm to jorvik. And the druids don't seem perfect either. In the last story quest we got plenty of opportunities to not trust Fripp, and Anne was also not trusting the druids and everything they're standing for. Idk i just really want a plot twist where the druids are also evil and the soul riders are alone and literally against everyone-

I was once in Pandoria and as I was riding I saw a black gigantic manta ray Down I the mist below the islands and I got kinda freaked out. But then as I was riding Down to the left parts of the Island I believe I ran to a spot where I stayed for a few seconds and looked away, cuz I was on a call with a friend. When I came back on sso the surroundings got darker and the sky changed from Pink to red and when I got my camera Higher it only got darker and more bloody red. I got so freaked out I even closed star stable. When I came back it was still There, but as I moved from that place it disappered and came back to normal. I dunno if it is still There to this Day nor if it was a bug or is it There purposefully also I don't know if someone else knows About this. I kinda wanna know what you think About it, also sorry for my english, I am not an english person 😅❤

What if the living Vala really weren't evil... (hear me out) (the drama) It probably isn't very likely, however, didn't Mr Sands used to be good? And then his wife died and it all went downhill for him (I think that's how it goes). What if they weren't witches but the dead so then technically the living Vala have a chance to be good. My connection to Mr Sands is, kind of like Galloper Thomson, he was cursed by his dead wife to be evil. Another thing to do with it is that if Valedale is named after the Vala perhaps it could be a sign that they kind of have pity on them because they have been cursed. It also works in the way that the tree for dead life wardens could be a protection against them in a way that shows they have prepared a sign almost towards them to make it seem like they worship the dead. It probably isn't likely but it's just a thought.
