You already know what I’m gonna say Marc, I’m watching that offensive line and defensive line play. I wanna see how these transfers look compared to our backups and I want to see who they have in rotation specifically for that left guard position. I do think the right tackle is up for grabs between Justin and Tobias, but with the track record of Lincoln Riley, he tends to go with seniority. And Tobias gave us no reason for concern last season when he was getting starting minutes. Obviously on the defensive line I wanna see Thanos but I also wanna see how these two transfer defensive tackles affect our offensive line on a down and down out basis. I also think this is a chance for Devon Tompkins to be a real chess piece so I’m interested to see where he lines up And if he is going to be in that starting rotation of defensive end as well. Also would love to see how Anthony Lucas is looking. I would be surprised if he is full go, but he’s a freak of nature so he may have recovered from that knee injury, faster than most people. One of the key other pieces is our linebackers behind with Stevens and Eric gentry I wanna see how big Elijah newby looks now. And at the game has slowed down for him.

Hey Marc... think the argument on best RB duo is about stats in same year! Reggie and Lendale put up crazy numbers, and didn't play the whole game because of blowouts. I agree Charles White and Marcus Allen is mind blowing, but do you know what their stats were combined same season?

Marc, SC was close in every game last year. They matched up in nearly every facet of the game with the teams they lost too. Should've won most if not all of them. The difference between USC and the Ohio States, ND's. Georgia's? The absolute inability to get to sack the quarterback. If they can change that ONE thing, I think they can make a big leap up...FIGHT ON!!!

Marc, I will be focused on Lucas and Shelby/Fountain, Lucas was starting to come on before injury last year and the other edge position needs a difference maker. The other obvious spots are QB-Maiava has been very sporadic and Longstreet is a true freshman plus right side of the Oline. True that this schedule looks more manageable, but going to be a tough conference next year. OSU will still be really good, PSU return most of roster, UM will get better, Oregon will be good, UW will improve, Illinois and Iowa will be good…. unlike some conference Big 10 has 9 conference games, looking at you sec

Marc, I tell it like it is, you know that. I dont look thru Cardinal colored glasses. You gotta tell the truth. If its negative, sorry, its the truth, if people don't want to hear the truth, sorry. You tell the truth. When you go 15-11 the last two years are you close? No! But if you look closely at the games, especially this year, then I would say yes. They should have beat Penn St and were 20 yards from going for 2 and the win against ND. But now, like you said, No More Excuses!! You just have to WIN!! Thats it. Close aint cutting it anymore. 10+ wins including one over ND and or Oregon. If they go 10-2 and lose both those games then they are a paper tiger in my opinion. Im sick of losing to those teams and getting blown out every time they play at ND and usually at Oregon as well..They have the best defensive coaching staff in America, a good recruiting class, just need a few more portal pickups, but overall should be in good shape.. They talk and show videos and say look how good we look and our body types are now Big 10 good, they climb the Coliseum stairs, they squat 500 lbs. they run the beach at dawn, etc, etc. I see it every year and get excited and optimistic and then??? 7-5 and 6-6 regular seasons.... So show it to me on the field.. Thats it. Then I will believe and my feeling about being close will be validated and my OPTIMISTIC view will be rewarded..

USC has had some of the best running backs in college football: Garret OJ Bell Davis White Allen Lyndale Bush So as we use to be called Tailback U Riley better get his head right and get back to what made SC great and run the ball . Again , Joyner could have been on the list . Congrats to OSU but not close to having the best backs in history . Oh and by the way , our genius QB wisper passed on Will Howard. He even laughed about it when he stuck with Moss . A good thing for Will Howard though he won a National Championship with OSU. Great coaching , great team and culture . If you haven’t listened to Days press conference with Howard after the game you should . It will help understand what it takes to win at the highest level , in comparison we are far away right now , not a few plays . No More Excuses- how you meant it Marc in yesterdays episode . Let’s go and Fight On to reach the level of OSU .

Great question. No, OSU had more talent all along, and their coaching was legit for the playoffs. Kudos to them. Now, to your question, I believe USC isn't far off for a single game. It's consistency that's their problem. To put themselves in the position to showcase their talent and coaching for the one game that matters means they would have to have depth and a bunch of dudes along the way that show up game after game. They haven't had that in years. Therefore, they haven't been relevant outside of California, except for slow media windows or for recruiting. I'll put it like this. There is no way Will Howard should have walked away with MM, who played 1 hell of a game, was thought to be a starter. If USC was the USC of the past, they would stack talent like that and force them to compete and let the cream rise to the top. Nowadays, you get a dude here and there, and it's like whew hew....... Thanos, as you call him, is a true freshman. Relying on a true freshman no matter how good is risky. Now, here's the cake, the kid has only played 12 games in his entire high-school career. Now he's good, but does that scream longevity or the one to put your cards on the table for? He is a great depth piece that should redshirt and be brought along for a year at least. But 👋🏾 just my $0.02. When USC gets back to not giving a sh*t who you are, Mr. recruit, or transfer portal guy. Come here and compete with the best, and then they also recruit the best available. You’ll be in the right conversations. Then, the rest of the BIG will take notice. Until then, they are just creating news for news cycles.

Check today's Wall St. Journal, Marc. Trojan's "enterprise value" ranked no. 24 at $452 million; Sooners ranked no. 10 at $881 million. OSU and Texas are 1 and 2, worth almost $2 billion each. Moral: spend more money.

How close are we? That looms in the back of our minds all the time, and obviously changes all the time. 11-3, 8-5, 7-6, what's next in the progression of this IQ test? Of course it's not that ugly, but it could be. We say to ourselves with these coaches and whatever talent we did have, we couldn't end up .500 in the regular season either. Notice no discussion of probability here. I gave up on that, but it still feels like we are closer to being unranked than top ten territory. So many things have to happen now to become a legit ranked team again. ND was about 85% as good as OSU, but had a bad night and OSU opened up a can again, almost as good as they did to the Zeros. We are about 85-90% as good as ND but probably lose to them again. If we did make CFP by chance then don't expect to advance, but I don't think we have to worry about that. Again, don't get me wrong, I WANT TO WIN EVERY GAME. But we have been kidding ourselves and became a laughing stock. I give it a 45% chance of making CFP and 75% chance of being ranked at the end of the year. There will be plenty of excuses - expect them until the buyout. Of course Thunder and Lightning is the answer to your last Q. and second best would be Allen and White - I wrote that before you said it in the video!!!!
