Every other Wednesday we present a new video, so join us to see the truth laid bare...
Stonehenge, England's most mysterious ancient monument, on a site older than the Pyramids of Ancient Egypt. 85 massive stones, some weighing more than 40 tonnes, stand guard on a remote and wind-swept plain. Why is it here, what is it for, how was it built? The answers are lost in the mists of time. Myth links Stonehenge to England's mysterious druids, Celtic priests said to have practiced ritual sacrifice. What we do know is that some of the rocks at Stonehenge were transported more than 200 miles across the waters of England's widest tidal estuary. Naked Science demonstrates how these stones could have been carried such a vast distance, and raised into place, using just the primitive technology possessed by Ancient Britons almost 5000 years ago. And, for the first time, the film employs modern forensic investigation techniques to examine human skeletons found near the site and recreates the face of one man who may have worked on the construction of this astonishing, ancient structure.

Truly we don't give them a lot of credit. They were not any less intelligent than we are, they just lived in a different way and their knowledge wasn't as readily available or expansive as it is today. We have learned what we know through thousands of years of trial and error and what we know today is just build on top of the foundation laid by these people. If no one ever dreamed or attempted to do what didn't seem possible, where would we be today? Probably still in caves. :P

With few exceptions man has been of equal intelligence the past 100 thousand years or so. The volumes of inherited experience and accumulated knowledge we now possess being the only difference. The first restoration of Stonehenge was launched over 100 years ago . And, in 1901 six stones were moved and re-erected. Cranes were used to reposition three more stones in 1958. One giant fallen lintel, or cross stone, was replaced. Then in 1964, four stones were repositioned to prevent them falling.

Henges - Rondel enclosures Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is the remains of a ring of standing stones set within earthworks. Archaeologists believe it was built from about 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The original structure was a henge which is a circular bank and ditch enclosure, measuring about 110 metres (360 ft) in diameter, with a large entrance to the north east and a smaller one to the south. It has been dated to about 3100 BC. What most people don't know is that almost 2000 years earlier, the same types of henges were built in central Europe where they are called rondel enclosures. Henges, rondel enclosures originate in the middle Danube area and Morava area. From there they have spread northward towards south Baltic finally reaching Saxony and Pomeranija. This means that the culture that built these megalithic structures came from Central Europe and reached the British Isles via south Baltic, and specifically Elbe region, Pomerania, Pomorje, the land of Fomori. Rondel enclosure, henge structures are mostly interpreted as having served a cultic purpose. Most of them are aligned and seem to have served the function of a calendar, in the context of archaeoastronomy sometimes dubbed "observatory", with openings aligned with the points sunrise and/or sunset at the solstices. This is the case with the "gates" or openings of the roundels of Quenstedt, Goseck and Quedlinburg as well as in Stonehenge. The observational determination of the time of solstice would have served a practical (agricultural) purpose. It could have been used to maintain a lunisolar calendar. The accurate knowledge of the date of solstice allows an accurate handling of intercalary months and determining the the correct date for agricultural activities such as plowing, sawing and harvesting. oldeuropeanculture.blogspot.com/2014/03/henges-rondel-enclosures.html

I only live about an hour away and had never been, so we went today and I've left with even more questions. I never realised, and this documentary would like to gloss over the fact that, there are male joints on the upright stones and female joints on the horizontal stones - but doesn't that mean you'd have to lift the horizontal stones even higher into the air, whilst keeping them horizontal, for their female joints to slot into the vertical male joints? You would need a crane (or some vertical lifting device) otherwise you'd have to raise all 3 joined stones together in 1 go which would be almost 100 tons, completely ilogical. The information plaques around the site are actually quite funny; 1 states that the Curcus (ONCE believed to be a Roman chariot race track and they never changed the name?) Its an EARTH CHANNEL not even Stonehenge, it's a couple hundred metres away. It says scientist have calculated it would take these 'farmers' 40,000 hours to complete. That's 1666.67 days or 4.56 years of continuous work 24 hours a day... so did these 'Farmers' not have to farm? If only 1 of the earth excavations took that long, how long would it have taken to construct Stonehenge? Thats not even including Barrows - which supposedly are comprised of 15 football fields worth of excavated earth. What was the life expectancy 6000+ years ago? What was the population of Britain back then? Were there just thousands of blokes knocking about with nothing better to do ready to all chip in to build a druid clubhouse? And why did they all cooperate so seamlessly? There's no evidence of a ruler commissioning this site. Kings pay for castles, Popes pay for Cathedrals and you'd presume whoever did want Stonehenge built would closely guard it due to the raw cost back then of assembling it and its religious/ceremonial value. You'd think they wouldn't just let anyone be buried on their sacred expensive site of worship. I thought daily survival would be quite the challenge back then, yet these people possibly dedicated the majority if not all of their time into the construction of this site... and still had the daily coloric intake to drag 10s of 40 ton rocks 20 + miles away and then raised them in their 3 stone assembly due to the rocks male and female joints? Is it so hard to admit we haven't got a fucking clue who did it, when they did it, how they did it, and why would they go to such monumental lengths to do it?

Maybe it's time that we finally recognize that ancients weren't that "primitive". Of course they weren't. It's so easy to say they couldn't do it cause they didn't have modern technology. We don't know how to build anything without modern tools. Teamwork and effort was the technology of ancient people. Use what you have.

(I should of listened to the whole video before commenting but I won’t delete as there are many good points)The druids were not around when the site was first used over 10 thousand years ago. They most probably used it but thousands of years after it’s first use. The Druids were driven away by the Romans and made extinct. The whole area, miles of landscape make this place special not just the stones. The blue stones were what made this place different from other stone circles like Avebury. The Sarsons were added many many many years later and it’s been reused over the course of time as man went from hunter gatherers to settled communities. The South Downs have hundreds of hill forts in its area and many round barrows and even earlier long barrow grave sites. The Avenue leading from the river Avon to site is on a natural glacial ridge and is aligned with the Solstices. Recently they found that it was doctored to fit the summer solstice and from its previous winter solstice lines which shows the change in worship from the moon to the sun. I believe that the site was used as a hospital for the elite of the tribes and they used the blue stones as talismans to heal the afflicted as there were hundreds of shards of blue stone chips found around the site. I haven’t explained myself too great here but you get the gist of what I am trying to say.

I have a couple of theories of my own...One is that during the particular time period when Stonehenge was built, it was probably designed by an ancient ruler/dictator who had an idea to have a "castle" of sorts built so that it could signify his place of leadership. The faithful servants/slaves were the ones who were tasked to build this thing. And, it probably wasn't until this ruler/dictator died of either natural causes... was killed in battle... or perhaps even killed by his own people, that it ultimately put an end to this thing being finished. Also keep in mind that these people didn't have any so-called 9 to 5 jobs that they went to either... THIS was their job! And, they did what was needed to survive. Plus, they were incredibly strong and fit (because they needed to be), and more than likely many of them didn't live beyond the age of 30. My other theory is that as they were building Stonehenge, they didn't have a complete understanding of how they were going to construct a roof. Once the people who were building it realized their construction idea was turning into a total failure, they simply abandoned the project and walked away.

There is question raised that how were those blue stones brought from several miles to stonehenge site. It could have been nearer during the time of construction. The distance could have been increased due to displacement caused by movement of tectonic plates. This is a theory which proposed the formation of continents as how they are now and formation of mountains like Himalayas

What i would like the scientists to discover or theorize on, is why the blue rock was so important to have to have been used for certain parts ot the structure, and why the other more local rock was used for its other purpose. That facinates me, and may have something to do with why they made stonehenge the way they did. I think it has something major to do with their intent or values at that time. Because they might or could have been able to make all of stonehenge out of the local rock in the area, but why go through all that effort for the blue rock?

Who built Stonehenge? Stonehenge is linked to the global copper traders of the Beaker Culture linked to western Lake Superior. Genetically the Great Lake native population is linked to the hills of the Galillee area most probably the Armi who constructed Kish -Sumeria. Sumer[sett] are settlers from Kish Sumer which became Somerset. They also had the Kish Stock Ewen[Saskatchewan River named after them. The Ka-tep-ba in Egyptian became Katepwa River Valley now called the Qu'Appelle River valley which was the ancient water route into what later became Valhalla-Wallhalla. It's entrance way marker was West Stonehenge called Saskan Stoons[Saxon Stones]. William Blake shows it on his red headed woman painting of Jerusalem by the Elbow. The anagram code in the four lines stating 'Bring me' are of mom Byddug[Queen Boudicca] being buried at the Dog Head. He calls it Elbow ring. It was investigated by Prof. Eldon Johnson who located the squared Sarcsen stones that the English gov't pushed over the rim of the valley when Diefenbaker Lake was constructed by the Grand Lodge of London Mason-Knights Templar who hold the Crown of England-Chancery in trust to me as of a result of a World Court Study and ruling. The bible legally starts and ends at the Dog Head. Luke --1:53-- and Psalms 104:25 internet sacred texts polyglot bible show 'At Liberty' as Psalm 104 has a legal layline in it that starts at Moses Lake Wash. State through Iceland to Vesteralen Norway and the City of the Gods, the Elohim. The first site in Stonehenge's parking lot was linked to Norway. Stonehenge was centered using the triangular number 153 which gives exact dates and Stonehenge is a global mortuary reincarnation temple of the dead. 17 is in three sides of this triangular number foe 17+17+17 =51 for 51 Lat. Top clan , Cream, Beatles, Plant Co is Led Zeppelin who all used the Dog Head in their songs and have anagram codes with me in them. Many of this clan are reincarnated Culdee monks like me. Madog is buried at Pelican Pointe across from Regina Beach on Messianic Jerusalem Lake= All see me Jesus, I Craik man'. 'U Moose Jaw Messianic Jerusalem ?= Mooseianic Jawrusalem, Me Jesus' south of the Dog Head. Wikipedia has changed the center figures of Stonehenge to cover this up. I am a registered historical archeologist from Sask. and the legal Second Christ and legal half brother of Eric Patrick Clapton born in Ripley. I was credited with finding an underground star cluster map at the Stairway to Heaven Dog Head at the Big Arm Last Mountain Lake Sask Canada by Liberty Sask. When you watch any videos on Stonehenge and they do not show the centre as 51.10.73 Lat and 1.4957 Long, then they are hiding west Stonehenge's destruction by the Mason- Knights Templar who own the crown. It was located at 51.10.73 Lat and 106.46.22 Long north of Elbow Saskatchewan Canada and west of the Stonehenge Dog Head at the Big Arm Last Mountain Lake. The centre positioning of Stonehenge cane be found by 105.3 Long intersecting with 51.10.73 Lat, slightly east, using 666 and 2853, locking it in with a huge white position in the soil. This shows you who built Stonehenge.

In ancient times, Hundreds of years before the dawn of history Lived a strange race of people, the Druids No one knows who they were or what they were doing But their legacy remains Hewn into the living rock, of Stonehenge Stonehenge! Where the demons dwell Where the banshees live and they do live well Stonehenge! Where a man's a man And the children dance to the Pipes of Pan Hey! Stonehenge! 'Tis a magic place Where the moon doth rise with a dragon's face Stonehenge! Where the virgins lie And the prayers of devils fill the midnight sky And you my love, won't you take my hand? We'll go back in time to that mystic land Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow I will take you there, I will show you how Oh! And oh how they danced The little children of Stonehenge Beneath the haunted moon For fear that daybreak might come too soon And where are they now? The little people of Stonehenge And what would they say to us? If we were here, tonight

I'm not a believer in mysticism or any of that stuff, and in fact I mocked people for talking about Stonehenge but when I went there, there really is .... something. I know now why people are vague about what that "something" is but go there and feel it for yourself. It's almost physical what you can feel there, like there's a presence surrounding you. I know I sound like some hippy typing this but you go there and experience it for yourself.

I agree. I had similar reservations until i actually stood in the center of Stonehenge in August of 1999 and experienced a sunset. There definitely is "something" there outside of the ordinary and YES you do feel a sort of awareness. I had my own experience but I don't talk about it because most of the people I know would think I sound like a total nutter.

+iki apitai Hi lki. l don't think there's any "Dark Energy" there and no evidence for massacres or large scale human sacrifice. Atmoshere is hampered by the hideous car park, fences, charges and official supervison plus the endless circling of visitors. Remember Stoehenge is a Solar temple and has absolutely nothing to do with the Druids. For tangible atmosphere go to nearby Avebury, and for a really disturbing experience try Knowlton Henge in Cranborne Chase, Dorset. As Helen says, come & visit, discover and decide for yourself. Best Wishes, Clive

why build Stonehenge? was a question I asked myself 50 some years ago. I concluded they built it to reset their calendar because sometime before that they had lost track. Something had blocked the sky and the stars for such a period of time they had lost track of the cycle. And one day when the skies cleared and the stars twinkled once again they resolved to never loose time again. A calendar of such proportions that even if they should perish time would not be lost again.

I believe we should consider the possibility that blocks of ice were used to make transport easier. They would have left no evidence, whereas they would have needed lots of containers to accumulate fat and carry it for grease. Maybe, transportation was easier when waterways were frozen? Ice would have been more buoyant than log boats, and easier to load, on land. Perhaps the ice was formed in trenches, and when loaded, the soil was removed to allow the whole thing to slip, or float, towards the water crossing.? Logs or rushes, embedded in the ice would have given compressive and even tensile strength. Blocks of ice, cut from the nearby waterway could help large stones, on sleds perhaps, slip over other blocks of ice. The erections could have been divided into seasonal episodes. Even lifting the stone lintels may have just been a matter of leverage and accumulating rubble beneath. Counter balancing can ne amazing to achieve this.

@@MonkforillaSuch buildings wouldn't have been built for chilling or accommodation. In the case of Malta, the amount found and the items found inside indicate that they were used for rituals. The case with Stonehenge could be different but I doubt that they would have went through all of that effort for something irrelevant. The biggest buildings in the past were always temples or royal palaces.

Beth Bartlett the Britons were historically the original Celtic inhabitants of Britain, or Ynys Prydwen, as they called it. The Germanic Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians came later. We call them the English today. This is why the fictional hero Arthur is called the King of the Britons, instead of the English (the latter of whom invaded and conquered Britain thousands of years after Stonehenge was constructed).

Did anyone ever consider that maybe Human beings were not the only beings building things on this planet in ancient times. There are many writen manuscripts from ancient cultures all around the world that talk of other worldly beings co-existing with man on this planet. The Norse and greeks called them gods, Hindu's refer to them as Anunnake, The Christian Bible called them Nephelim or the sons of God. When I look at stonehenge I see the foundation of a launching pad for space craft. The reason it is astrologically aligned is a practical one for a space travler. It not only provided a stable platform to store and or launch space craft, but determined the proper time window to launch an intetsteller mission. Usually the simplest explanation is the correct one, even if it contradicts main stream academia. There is simply no reason to believe that ancient man was running around building huge monolythic pyrimids, cities, oblisks etc around the world, requiring complex mathmatical computations, structural anlysis, stone cutting and moving skills, when the only lived to be 40 yrs old and spent most of there time hunting and gathering to live and feed there families. I don't care how many slaves they had, or how much those slave loved there kings, there is no practical reason other than vanity that a king would even attempt a project like that in those days. Vanity does not build solid stone monolythic structures, power tools and advanced technology do. So I am sorry but but my BS meter is pegging out when I hear main stream acedemics OPINIONS on how, why, when, who build stonehenge.

Shaun Dee No it was not. Stone henge and the great pyramids of giza were built around the same millennium. The pyramids come from old kingdom egypt around 2600-2100 BC, and went through multiple iterations over succeeding generations of pharaohs cumulating in the great pyramids of giza. However the new kingdom decided to go with tombs instead because pyramids made looting the dead too easy and egyptians didn't want their pharoah's graves disturbed by gold grabbing thieves. Stonehenge comes from around 2500-1600 BC and was actually part of a greater complex of structures in the area that including the likes of wood henge and various burial mounds. A basic google search can show this. Pyramids: www.google.com/search?q=when+were+the+pyramids+made&oq=when+were+the+pyramids+made&aqs=chrome..69i57.4199j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8#q=when+were+the+pyramids+made Stonehenge: www.google.com/search?q=when+were+the+pyramids+made&oq=when+were+the+pyramids+made&aqs=chrome..69i57.4199j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8#q=when+was+stone+henge+made However megalithic structures have been made that were found to be over ten thousand years old. Look up "Gobleki Tepe" for a example of such prehistoric megalithic structure.

the stones would have been moved quickly on rolling tree trunks or logs of various sizes expertly managed to take them from quarry to henge site. then they built wood henge to honor the logs that had helped them to build stonehenge. wood henge was not a precursor to stonehenge, it was set up after they didn't need to use them for moving the stones any more. Believing that all things are alive, they of course would want to honor the logs for their help. Wood henge was made from the rolling logs used to move the stones. it would have taken a large group of people to pick up logs after stones had passed over them to position them in front of the stones in the direction they were moving. they didn't have wheels but they had rolling logs. the trackways between standing stone monuments were leveled by the rolling logs. some cause ways built over the marshes were made of logs.

Either that or aliens...

"We cheated with modern tools." That's the key sentence of this documentary. The only reasonable part of the theory of the construction of Stonehenge that is presented here is the boat segment. The other parts take for granted the use of modern tools and methods that did not exist at the time. Notice all of the smooth and regular surfaces on those wooden pieces? No. Didn't happen. If you want to fashion a good theory of the construction, you have to use bronze age tools and methods for the entire project, to discover all of the challenges that the builders faced. Cheating with shortcuts is stupid in modern reconstructions, and as a result often assumes that these people back in the day were stupid as well. Don't you think they would have quickly discovered the most practical ways to accomplish their tasks? They had to use a lot of time and effort to move those stones. We shouldn't insult them by not even bothering to go to the trouble of using their technology -at EVERY single step- to accomplish their task. Otherwise we're just wasting our time. At least the modern humans doing the reenactment of the placement of the stones have connected their timbers with ropes, and not nails, in this reconstruction. Nails were not around at the time- at least ones strong and smooth enough to hold together giant timbers. I have not heard an acceptable theory of how ropes would have been made in England at that time, but lets assume that strips of leather would have done the job. Why would those people go to the enormous effort of building a wooden scaffold with primitive tools- which would have to be laboriously cut, then fastened together with notching and tying-- when they could do something much simpler: Create a very long ramp of compacted earth, with a far more gradual slope than the wooden structure presented here. The wooden ramp theory doesn't take into account the likelihood that imperfections in the construction of a wooden ramp would have led to fatal stresses at key points, resulting in the failure of the entire structure. When that happened the first time, the builders would have been rather disappointed- imagine what they would have felt like when the same thing inevitably happened for the 10th time. It's a MUCH better idea to pile your way up, then dig the earth away at the end to return the grade to the level of the surrounding plain. The other key flaw in all the reconstructions is that the idea that bronze age people could have made smooth and regular faces on their wooden skids. That is a MAJOR assumption that has not been proven - at least not in this documentary. Even with animal grease as a lubricant, the wooden timbers would have to have been polished with sanding stones; they could not have been milled to be anything like perfectly smooth and flat-sided modern boards. Assuming that only one surface had to be smooth, how would this have been accomplished? There were no saws. The surface would have to be created by chipping away bits of the wood, which would have left a very irregular surface. Imperfections in the ragged surface would have vastly increased the friction between the stone and the "sled rails" on which the stone was dragged by the the people who moved it. The moving of the rocks was much more likely accomplished by affixing them to timbers that would have served as skids, then rolling these skids over a prepared and compacted surface using logs as rollers- logs that were sufficiently strong, straight and smooth to be of practical use. If the ground surface had not been compacted, the logs would be pressed into the ground. That would also be true for the direct sliding theory. Those rails have to be supported by compacted gravel and sand, or they will press completely into the ground and be rendered useless. Notice that the demonstration of the sliding theory uses gravel and sand that we purify by technology that wasn't available then? They also seemed to have mysteriously connected the ends of the sliding posts perfectly for their reenactment. Yet another lazy assumption. OK.... enough. I know. Why did I bother with this, you're asking. Me too. The details are my own inferences, but my support for the "earth ramp" theory comes straight from anthropology class. My overall dismissive attitude towards lazy theories and reenactments is a result of my professor declaring: "Most of those made-for-TV theories range between 'rather implausible' and 'absolutely ludicrous'. That's why I have such a stinko attitude towards this video. I'm very flattered by the few of you who bothered to read this far. Have a great day !

i agree overcoming friction is the key to moving huge sandstone blocks. the earth ramp theory is much more plausible than attempting construction of wooden devices. (although we're assuming sturdy A frame type cranes and other kinds of hard-wood frames were not available, but we cannot prove these devices were not in use). depending on environmental conditions, ice would ensure less friction at certain times of year. animal fats, ice, earth ramps and a team of very strong people could make this happen. working in cold conditions is difficult (i happen to be an engineer) - but with the right kit on (layers of fur for example) it could be achieved (with much determination and will power) eg: scotts antarctic team pulled sleds across the ice shelf (when conditions allowed). i also agree overcoming soft uncompacted surfaces would be vital, if the the stones were transported across land. today, roads are constructed with compacted substrate before a smooth surface is applied (but I dont think there's archeological evidence of these kind of roads round stonehenge... if anyone has evidence otherwise, I'd be interested to review it). we're assuming water channels and flotation devices were not used either (but we cannot rule that out as a method, since friction issue is overcome using water and flotation devices like air-filled bladders). the interlocking and modular nature of the stone lintels at stonehenge (probably using geopolymer concrete) is highly advanced work. i'd like to point out, many builders dont use this method, even today. whoever really built the henge and other ancient sites has advanced knowledge of polymers, lifting techniques, transport logistics and astronomical positioning of planets in our solar system. Everything points to them from not being from "around here". I know, that opens the door to exotic theories.. but we can't rule those out, either. conducting electromagnetic readings at the site, the position of leylines (magnetic force lines) at the site will yield interesting results. stonehenge looks like a device for focusing electromagnetic energy from the air. It's logical to assume this was it's primary function. peace. thanks for reading.

I don't understand why this show goes on and on about how well it's constructed and how long ago it was built when anyone can google up the photos of Stonehenge being rebuilt and set up way back in the early 1900s. It's not like they found it all set up the way it is today.

I don't know who built it, but I know why they built it. They show you that answer, right at the beginning. These stones are directly from the moon, and Stonehenge was built to represent the most important crater on the moon, which we cannot see today from the earth. That crater is the Schrodinger crater, near the lunar south pole. If you watch the weather patterns that are provided by the weather satellites, you will eventually see the Schrodinger pattern in the weather over Europe. They say they had a thing about circles, this is your circle, inside, and out. When the moon was closer to the earth, these stones may have been lighter, due to the bigger gravitational pull by the moon. I bet my theory is the closet one you will find to the truth. Whoever built it, was able to see the lunar south pole, that I am sure of. The moon is the original god in heaven. As above in heaven, so below on the earth. There is only one thing in heaven that matches the earth, and if you reverse the lunar surface over the earth, you will see that. Have fun trying to prove me wrong, bye bye

Billy Brane Sorry son... I've been in engineering for 30 + years...Number Three they need a bigger boat..Sometimes ya can do all the calculations in the world and still fall short..Been there done that..Many times.. Number two..Not paying attention to what yer doing..That fact is very obvious or the skid wouldn't have gotten caught under the cross piece..The engineer was standing right there and was too busy barking orders and being self important..Sometimes their degree gets in a persons face and covers their eyes..Also have had that happen a time or two. It's a classic case of micromanaging. Number one... Ya got a leaky boat..Also an obvious problem ..I assume the parties involved thought it wasn't a problem, really, now please.. Number four...you need to get the engineers out of the way.. To many chiefs and not enough Indians is never conducive to an good outcome on any project...In that case a little more hands on and a little less calculation would have led to much less confusion to all involved with the project.. I have to say the theory is sound and never at any time did I elude that the theory was bad...Just where you got that idea is beyond me. Now this is exactly why I commented in the way that did..So as not to have to write it all out line by line... I forget that a few people on here can't understand simple statements and tend to take offense at any attempt at humor.. My only other comment would have to be...Try not to take yerself quite so seriously all the time...Not everyone has to hunt for a reason to be offended by everything.. My feeling is you feel slighted because I made a funny about an occupation that I dearly enjoy.. Learn to laugh at yerself and the lessons you can learn from things that happen on a project are remembered well..Unless yer one of those that try to find someone else to blame for your mistakes and don't own them yerself..

Didn't hear anyone say anything about - WHY did they haul all of those rocks to Salisbury Plain? If it was JUST about the structure, build it where the rocks lay. But - it wasn't. There is something about the Plain itself...something compelling enough to justify all of this effort and labour. The rocks are then secondary...the land itself is primary. Anybody know anything about the location that makes it so special?
