I ran a 125hp shot regularly but on occasion ran 150 shot. I put 20-30 bottles through that car with no problems. Only tune I had was an sct-x4 which I used to pull timing at wot. 3.73 is good. Have it in my '13 Boss 302 but think 4.10 for your build and myself would be better for laying down good power
@acerimmer8338 Жыл бұрын
Having owned both an '01 GT (with 4.10s) and '13 Boss 302, I'd absolutely recommend keeping the 3.73. Boss has more headroom thanks to its 7500 redline but still has trouble putting power down on stock gears, at least in 1st. The low redline on the New Edge means A LOT more shifting which, of course, hurts time. OK for drag racing, not so much everything else. I think 3.90 is about the max you'd wanna go in either if you do anything besides drags.
@stlswagger Жыл бұрын

Since they are NA in 2000, which came with T45 transmission, 3.55 is the perfect gear ratio. All of the 2001.5+ GTs received the Tremec 3650 in manual trim and the different internal gear ratios ended up allowing a 4.10 final ratio to basically match the T45 with a 3.55. Since the 02+ GTs we’re more sought after for their Romeo blocks being superior to the 99-01.5 GTs, it’s much more common to see information about them on the web and assume is universal for all new edges… but, this is not the truth. Well I think I would have went with a second hand turbo kit and built around it. U can push this car at about 10 to 12 psi. And with a full exhaust headers back. Doesn't have to be leading brands can be used/off brands. About $800 for used simple turbo kit, $800 full exhaust. 3.73 perfect, suspension was a must. A one piece aluminum driveshaft should have been a must also $300- $500, again doesn't have to be new or leading brand just have to survive the 3 events. The turbo, full exhaust, driveshaft and good dyno tune(hell even a can tune would suffice. These would take a good $2300 or so out of ya'lls $4500. The remaining $2200 I would use addressing the other issues. And u would have had about 30hp plus more and torque to get that thing moving.

The OEM set up has two metal discs next to each other in the stack. The metal discs can't slip relative to one another since they're splined to the same axle. You could think of the two metal discs as one thicker disc, because that's how the axle would treat it (and Ford wouldn't make a bespoke part and add to manufacture costs when it can just use two thinner ones instead). This is shown and explained @16:15.
