Great video as always. The habitat destruction towards the end made me extremely sad. So many great species. Very diverse. I hope you are enjoying the holiday season and are doing well. Stay cool and always pity the fool. Catch you in the next one. Richard and Heather from Arkansas

I never get tired of seeing rough green snakes. I love those little dudes. I enjoyed the gopher tortoise, too.

I had to leave Florida 20 years ago. I literally could not tolerate watching what was going on there. It was once a true paradise.

When I lived there about 20 years in the Boca Raton /Ft. Lauderdale area ago the talk was always 'the building up of Florida will not end until east meets west and all the land and resources are gone!'

I have lived here in Florida just south of Tampa my whole life and it has gotten ridiculous how much prime habitat has been cut down for residential areas. It is so sad to see the damage they are doing to this habitat down here!

Cool footage of the tortoise feeding. Beautiful green snake you released was indeed fortunate (compared to the 2nd, DOR, one). Tragic. Tragic. Tragic. The habitat destruction around the perimeter of Orlando. 😓😡 Nice to see 28:20 more greens! Very Encouraging to see evidence of a large Coach!

I sure hate to see what is continuing to happen to wild Florida. Some folks call it progress but it feels like going backwards to me. Rough greens are one of my favorite snakes and you and Noah found some beauties.

People need space, because the population is permanently growing. Too many people, no nature. For most people this context is too complicated to understand.

Sad Florida's wild places are being destroyed. My friend lives there and he keeps telling me how busy the roads have become in just 20 years so much is lost. He's on the west Coast south of Sarasota, and when the storms hit many areas get flooded the natural drainage system is disrupted. Those greens are beautiful.

Great video as always. Regarding the Alligator skull, I have studied alligators for over 20 years and early on I stumbled across a great way to estimate body length from the skull. Measure the lower jaw in inches and half that and you have the number of feet. It has to be the lower jaw though as the post articular process makes the mandible longer than the skull. It works on everything from 3 ft to 13.5 ft (at least that's the largest I've measured). The one you found looked like a 10 footer to me, but I am also a fisherman so take my size estimate with a grain of salt! Keep up the great videos.

Suburban sprawl sucks in the worst way. And on top of it, many of those houses probably won't be occupied because they are unaffordable in addition to being inefficiently built. One recession, and that whole development would be a total ecological waste.
@WillRobertsonsWildlifeАй бұрын
Yeah the houses were very expensive as well

Is it really illegal to take an alligator skull? Maybe if you were in the Everglades, but you weren't in a national park. I think you would have been fine. Selling it might be a different story.

This video was sadder than usual. I keep a Florida Kingsnake and I would like to see them in there natural habitat, yet, no kingsnakes. Also, the habitat destruction is everywhere. It is hypocritical that Florida targets invasive reptiles with such a wrath, yet accepts this amount of habitat destruction.

Will, nice video, but I do not think you identified the snake after the garter with the big bolus. We non-herpers don't know every species you turn up, so an I.D. is always appreciated. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Don't make children, because if you did, then you are to blame for habitat loss. Human population is growing rapidly and the impact you can see not just in FL.

The mantis is definitely a Carolina mantis. I keep and breed a pair of them every year and put the egg cases in my garden to hatch the next spring.
