Maybe the buddy modifier (upgrade the tier of the minion) is coded into the hero power, but it just upgrades the card by 0. However since you can't upgrade past tier 6, it reverts the card to the highest possible tier.

@@nickelodeann I think that one can under certain circumstances I think. Pretty sure I saw dogdog transform from 6 to 7 once, but it was a game where he had some access to 7-costs already.

Tier 7 is a special tier that is only accessible in few specific ways, and it has been like this since they released it. Did you also notice that water is wet, and fire is hot?

The Hunter of Gatherers effect is so broken dude they really need to fix it, he has it for like 3 turns and his minions get +17 hp after like 150 Kalecgos procs 😅

The evolve spell that Dog used on it (the one that is in the shop pool currently) evolves the minion, but makes it keep the stats of the pre-evolved minion. In some cases this can be a benefit (evolving units with temporary stats, like Deep Blues) but in this case was a negative.
