I managed a collapsing ankle which I later found was a broken ankle while in 5 Airborne, I never flaked to the flip flops option, I never went to a medic, it fixed itself in time but in that time my boss, ex SAS said, Rob, when are you going for it? ... Hey ho, I had to be honest at that point, The luck of the draw ... Wonderful spirit in Airborne. My stupid young life 🤭 ... Tabbing machines.

Not really a confession of mine, but maybe one someone could admit too. December 1981 I'm at RAF Catterick, halfway through my fireman's training. After a long day on the fireground, I drag my weary arse to the NAAFI that was located at the back of the mess hall. I round a corner and the sun is just above the horizon. I'm instantly blinded and then less than half a second later something hits me, so hard it knocks me into a flower bed (of non flowering greenery) I suffer from sensory overload for a few seconds and then as I'm thinking WTF just happened, I see a very young looking rock ape (RAF Regiment) officer balancing on his toes on the edge of the footpath, leaning forward and saluting me while "Screaming" well then... well then? As smartly as I could in the prone position, I came to attention on that bed of greenery and gave him my best salute. He grunted, then off he fooked. Leaving me lying in the foliage thinking, did that really just happen. If you were that officer, I'd love to hear your perspective :)

I confess in 1982 my mates who used to nick my Nestle choccy bar ( fat fuckers ) everyday at school got a serious taste of the MAJOR TROTS . My mum bought Exlax chocolate for herself so I thought while Mock exams were on ide sought the lads a proper Nestle morning and consequently gave them about 4 squares each out of 2 bars of Exlax ( 7 lads ) . Well I heard all about them shitting themselves and one just made the classroom door to go to loo when WHOOSH too late he farted hahahahaha . So sorry lads it was me haha haha cheers mate 😁😁👍🇬🇧
