Glad to see this video, doesn't seem right that it was produced way back in 1983. Great memories.

Where's the line with the lyric, "if we just beat Atlanta I'll be glad "
@WhoDatInc5 жыл бұрын
HA! Very good Jacqueline! That line is in the song "The History of the Saints"... I'm very proud of those lyrics...we had a lot of fun writing that song! Here are all the lyrics: The History of the Saints ( written in 1987..... So for the younger citizens of the Who Dat Nation, I will explain the lyrics) *Oh when the Saints first came to town, when the Great Mac Nut and Morgas was around.....when interest rates first had one number, that's when that Who Dat fever came to town. **Do you remember ol' Archie WHO?...and who dat kicked twice as far with half a shoe? ***And Willow Street could not believe the numbers that came to scream, and shout, and BOO! Who Dat Sey Dey Gonna Beat Dem Saints? ***Do you recall "Aints", now dats a drag...80,000 people all wearing bags....80,000, did you hear that number?....."If we just beat Atlanta I'll be glad"! ****And then one day along came a bum, with some ideas that seemed to work where he come from. Well he sure improved the numbers, we thought for sure our day had come! Who Dat Sey dey gonna best dem Saints? ****Bum Phillips was the first coach to bring promise to the fans. He was a former coach of the Houston Oilers, where he found success. espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9846447/bum-phillips-former-coach-houston-oilers-new-orleans-saints-dies-age-90 *** Willow Street was where everyone parked, and walked down to Tulane stadium. The residents there were not very happy with the cars that blocked their driveways, and often complained. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulane_Stadium **( Archie Manning was known as Archie Who when he played for Old Miss because no one had ever heard of him. Tom Dempsey set the record with a 63 yard field goal. He had a stubbed foot that was 1/2 the size of a normal foot) hottytoddy.com/2014/01/13/the-balad-of-archie-who-and-more/ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Dempsey *(the Great Mac Nut was a very famous TV personality. His name was Wayne Mack. Wayne was a great sportscaster who was the " Buddy Diliberto" of his day. He also had a Saturday morning kids cartoon show and his character name on the show was "The Great Mac Nut"....... Morgas was a Saturday night host of horror films. His real name was Sid Noel. ) www.neworleanstvbook.com/
