I went to Tokyo for the first time a few months ago and was truly envious of the transit system, especially compared to my home of NYC. I come back to this video occasionally for some nostalgia and to remind me how wonderful JR East is.

if all the announcements are done in japanese: "thank you for riding JR east, the train leaving on track 9 is bound for shinjuku." jr東日本をご利用くださいましてありがとうございます、 まもなく、9番線に、新宿方面行がまいります。 "ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the shinkansen." 新幹線をご利用くださいまして、ありがとうございます。 "the next station is: shibuya, JY-20, the doors on the left side will open" 次は、渋谷、JY-20。お出口は左側です。 i visited japan when i was young and when i heard these voices, i originally thought these voices were generated by computer voices. 若い頃に日本を訪れ、これらの声を聞いたとき、もともとこれらの声はコンピューターで生成されたものだと思っていました。
Shinkansen is the most familiar to me. Ladies and gentlemen, we will make a brief stop at Shin Osaka. Passengers going to xx, xx, and Sanyo lines, please change trains here at Shin Osaka. Thank you. I wonder the phrase of "make a brief stop at XX" is common or a little too wordy.

@@christelleciari The phrase “make a brief stop at” is also common when traveling on the Taiwan High Speed Rail. Must have something to do with its nature of being an overseas version of Japanese Shinkansen .
