Signora was so damn sudden after completing the main mission.The way she walks and presents herself is well done. Scaramouche was so unexpected as he acted friendly walking up about to kill the traveler. (Need this skin) Tartaglia straight up confonts(as in the talking part) you having no problem. Make sense since he likes the idea of fighting anywhere anytime type shit. (Also the hey girlie never gets old for those who chose lumine) Dottore obviously was the most dangerous as he had everything going as he plan yet acted so casual. He actually had nahida spooked. Arlecchino made arrangements to her benefit but it would of been better if it was a cut scene not gonna lie.

It even has epic music to it, meanwhile look at every other one. In Scara's cutscene the text even overlaps with his eyes, its very ugly. The only misstep they made with Dottore is cutting away too early from his intro, and it doesn't match with the music. The introductions of the Harbingers should be great reveals, and except one all of them are lackluster. I mean Childe's would have been great, but at that point we already know who he was, so its not an introduction anymore

I think Scaramouche was the best. If you were there during the 1.1 event of course. It was 1.1, and the first story event just dropped, you meet this weird looking guy and you immediately knew(as the player) that he's special and you can't wait to see who he is. He acts super friendly and then the story event reaches its climax, you're with Fischl and Mona then he appears again nonchalantly. Mona took a single look and she noped us the fuck outta there then it's revealed that the Vagrant from Inazuma was in fact the 6th Fatui Harbinger. I still get chills to this day. Not a very bombastic introduction, but it sure as hell had a good build up in comparison to the rest imo.

So far I think Dottore's is the best, it tells you everything you need to know about him (cunning, resourceful and of course, incredibly dangerous) and even gives you very good insight into his personality and so on. It helps that the archon quest was a banger, like the dialogue and music in his cutscene is so good, and his design is my personal favourite out of all the harbingers so far.

after the 4.2 archon quest it makes a lot of sense why childe calls his delusion form “foul legacy: devouring deep” because his master (skirk) is the disciple of “Foul” so his delusion form is “Foul’s Legacy” because it is the legacy of his master’s master. and then it’s called “devouring deep” because in the depths of the abyss there is only darkness and it is where the devouring narwhal resides. and he met the narwhal in the abyss as a childe so he uses a replication of it as his attacks. PLUS when you fight the narwhal it’s just like fighting childe. there’s she whale that you dodge and then it turns into a human wielding electro just like childe. I feel like to this day, Childe’s first Foul Legacy transformation is still one of the most goated things in Genshin. It might not be the most imposing or intimidating, but they showed the transformation in a way that made sense, with the different pieces of the armour being put on him, and the end result is so badass

Ngl, Dottore’s entry actually scared the sh!t out of me.. Not because he looked scary or anything, but… 1) He came out of Nowhere with that badass and Villian-ish voice 2) He was so confident standing infront of an Archon and Traveller him/herself 3) He turned out to be 3rd of the Fatui Harbinger (Literal God level powerful People) 4) I wasn’t sure what he was gonna do next (maybe harm traveller, people or Nahida,etc) 5) He looked crazy & menace That’s over all the things! I just fell in love with this Villian just over first sight. His sudden entry got me hyped along with “Indeed I am!” 😭

-Signora gave the vibe of a new, “powerful enemy appearing for the first time”, and displays what a threat the people she works for/with really are. -Tartaglia gave the vibe of a friend turned foe. Not exactly a betrayal, but more like a friend fell to “the dark side” (especially with that badass music) -Scaramouche also felt like a friend turned foe, but it was most definitely a “betrayal.” Rather, a betrayal of trust -Dottore was up there. His appearance shows a “banished evil returns” scene. And after finding out he is SECOND of the 11 made it feel like we could have been screwed if it wasn’t for the Plot (And Nahida) -Arlecchino in my opinion gave off the scariest vibes. After hearing about how Childe called her “insane”, and then seeing this mysterious person that seems the opposite of what Childe described. Truly left a trail of confusion as well as uncertainty about the true colors of this Harbinger Regardless, all Harbingers had badass entrances, and they all look cool and have nice drip :) I look forward to seeing more if them! (Especially Capitano hehehe)

I think Childes is truly the best. He sorta subverts what you’re expecting for the next harbinger you meet after Signoras sudden appearance by coming to help & acting pretty friendly n presents as a mild nuisance at best. Then at the golden house when he truly starts to take you seriously the presentation of the music & the transformations makes for a great image. You are finally being faced with your first difficult opposition of the story you must confront yourself.

Signoras is very good, after a very standard tale of helping the dragon & completing things pretty effortlessly for the Traveler her sudden juxtaposition of showing up Traveler & Venti in power is very good. And her blantant distaste for one of gods serves well after personally colluding with Venti the whole time.

The idea of Arrlecchinos is great. The presentation is very lackluster. The VA does a very good job of making her words very casual yet. Menacing in a way. After Dottore we are very on guard against new harbingers we meet. And she is very genial. It’s new. Not coming into to save us or even insulting us. A simple “tea party”. They just totally phoned it in on giving her memorable visuals to accompany her. Hoping her release will give her a better harbinger name card scene

So I just think they rank by how much value they put into the fatui. Like influence, knowlegde and strength, not just strength like Childe implies... That way, I see why Arlecchino is high up, since she provides a lot of new fatuis to join. Arlecchino’s understated intro is the best imo, she doesn’t need to demonstrate her powers to show us how dangerous she is, she commands the room like a badass and has genuine presence enough to put the fear of god or inspire undying loyalty into others. She is unlike the other harbingers who (from their intros and other interactions) feel a little like generic Fairy Tail villains. She’s more like Hisoka from HxH or the Major from Hellsing, or Bradley from FMA brotherhood, immense presence before she’s even demonstrated physical prowess. She is far more complex than Dottore or Wanderer, or even my boi Childe thanks to what we know about the Hearth and her past.
