We all have piles of shame. It comes with the territory of being a collector, and also that collection requiring some artistic input. If we were collecting pennies, buying and storing is all we'd have to do, but with minis, there's a lot more work to be done! So, we buy, we store, we hoard until the little voices in our head saying "paint me" are just to loud and we self implode. Enjoy this episode where Emil and I compare some of the cooler parts of our backlogs in a FIGHT TO A DEATH.

The best way convince your wife is to go through her shoe collection and ask her if she is willing only to buy a new pair of shoes when an old one is worn out or thrown away. I feel you on that. I have ~2,700pts of my Slaanesh AoS army un-built, then I got an airbrush... So, of course, I needed more more mini's to practice on that weren't part of my main army. Like, 2 months ago, I SWORE I wouldn't buy another mini if I didn't finish painting what I have first. This is such a weird hobby to have sometimes.

I have almost all of the walkers painted from black plague.... then I just need to paint the runners, fatties, heroes, necro and monster ... and then pull out the werewolf expansion and green horde plus it's... *sigh* Well on the positive side at least we all are going to have a lot of time on our hands to paint since we are locked in

I have no backlog. That's right. All my minis are painted, and I usually don't buy a box before I have painted the previous one. It makes it easier to budget my hobby as well!

I could cry right now. You both are professional painters. I only goof around. I wouldn't even show my models outside of my game group. I have around 3.000 points of Tyranids left unpainted, the Shadowwar Armageddon box still sealed, around 400 Miniatures for the old Descent: Journey into Dark, the Cthulhu, Death May Die (including the 60cm 'miniature') complete Kickstarter pledge, around 300 miniatures I printed myself and I estimate, around 1.000 other Kickstarter Miniatures in my pile, in the making and in stl files. And I just worked three days to repaint a Carnifex, a Hive Tyrant and six Tyranid Warriors... I NEED HELP!

I would say Squidmar has the worse pile of shame because Scott has a bigger viriaty and therefore you don't get to tired of painting the hundreth goblin in a row that fast.

Paints on some parts don't count as painted. Also the Ogre models, elves and tzeench that had paint on them were from the guys i bought them from with the intention of re-painting. Hopefully i'll get there ;)

That's a fun and disturbingly relatable game. My shelf is currently counting an all-in pledge of Zombicide: Green Horde, a Bloodrage retail box with 5th player, gods and mystics expansion, an all-in Rising Sun pledge, one copy of edge of darkness (not that many minis ... just 40-ish ... pff), 1500 points of tyranids, a gaming table (4x6'') full of terrain and a box of three to four descent second edition games ... of cause with all additional boss figures. Luckily, most of my kickstarter pledges got delayed. Otherwise the pile would start growing again with an all-in pledge of limbo eternal war, all-in of bloodborne the boardgame and an all-in of OrcQuest (this game will probly not be finished in the near or even distant future). Maybe I have a serious spending habit in regards to little plastic dudes. Good thing I jumped ship at village attacks as well as Vanguards of War and got myself to not back Arena: The Contest (I have to force myself to stay away from the late pledge button every day since). Would have been an all-in again and so much more little dudes. So ... much ... more.

At my peak, I had around 500 unpainted warhammer and zone minies plus epic. Beacause at 6mm tall, they don't really count. Talking about wool elves, I had both the 1980's celtic theme wood elves and fourth edition army. Luckily I've been able to sell down to around 200 unpainted minies. This allowed the projects to get manageble, and they might get finished at some point :D

At least I'm not the only one with a shameful backlog of things I want to get painted at some point. I have half an STD army painted. Half a BCR army painted. Half a Stormcast army painted. A bunch of Seraphon primed but only a couple models painted. Half a Khorne army painted. I managed to paint the 3 eels that came in the Deepkin starter box. I also painted a Lord of Change and assembled about 1/3 of a tzeentch army. All of the feast of Bones box plus additional OBR units I bought. About a third of an army of Mechanicus. One battlesuit that I painted for the greater good then moved to AoS after already buying most of the army I wanted to build. Then kickstarter board games all unpainted but I really want to get around to it at some point and in no particular order: Mythic Battles Pantheon, Cthulhu Wars and most of the expansions, Rise of Moloch, Lords of Hellas, Hate, Batman: Gotham City Chronicles, Massive Darkness, Rising Sun, Zombicide Green Horde (I actually managed to paint most of the Black Plague Box), Vanguards of War, The Gods War, The Others, Conan, and Mansions of Madness. I'm sure there are some additional shameful things around here that I need to get to. My level of shame is astounding.
