Overtime rules changed to help the league in the playoffs (but NOT when the Pats won in overtime vs the Chiefs), early buy week this season, difficult schedule this season, Mahomes not asking to change rules because he gets hit too much, a longer season now, decimated offense for the majority of the season and still 15-1, high ankle sprains galore, one of the most penalized o-line's this season... uh huh, the league's really helping out the Chiefs get that 3-peat

I wasn't a Patriots fan but was in awe of that team's remarkable success. I'm not a Chiefs fan, but I am now in awe of Patrick Mahomes. I would like to see the Lions get their day in the sun and think Burrow to Chase is absolutely riveting to watch. Will I root against the Chiefs? Maybe. But the one thing I know I'll continue to do is enjoy quality football.

This is what I don't understand. We all watched Michael Jordan in awe, or Rodger Federer, or any other truly great athlete. It doesn't matter if you're a "fan" of a particular team, you still knew you were seeing something remarkable. So this unhinged tribalism and hate for a team of guys who play well and also seem to be nice people... I don't get it.

I like how Chris remembers the Patriots NOT cheating, legitimate cheating not bad calls and also thinks the Chiefs must be doing the same thing if they are winning this much. It really bothers him we are just as good if not better than the Pateiots were and we didn't have to cheat to get there. We get just as many crap calls as every other team because the refs are human, yes we get some good calls too but what team doesn't? I get it people are mad cause we are winning and they are not. I too hated the Patriots back in the day and suffer through decades of the Chiefs being mid to bad wanting them to be good like the patriots and they finally are so hate all you want Chris, we in Chiefs Kingdom will keep celebrating without you.

Yeah the Pats had to overcome the league being against them when Brady fumbled against the Raiders and not only did the refs lie to all of America and say Brady was throwing that ball, BUT THEN THE LEAGUE MADE UP AN ENTIRE BS RULE TO JUSTIFY THAT AWFUL CALL. The Pats had to overcome the league being against them when the Jags scored off a fumble recover to seal the AFC Championship Game only to have the refs inexplicably rule Myles Jack down by contact and take the points off the board. There's at least a dozen other times the league conveniently looked out for Brady and the Pats but of course Brockman can't recall any of them

The Packers in the 60's. The Steelers in the 70's. Niners 80's. Cowboys 90's. Pat's 00-10's. Chiefs 20's. As a Pat's fan I can live with this. All things must pass. The Pat's did it longer and better than any previous team at this point. Regardless, records are made so others may strive to beat them. One thing I will agree with Chris though. The league disproportionately punished the Pat's for actions both real and concocted for the benefit of the other teams owners. The Pat's disrupted the leagues parity mantra, and embarrassed other teams. BB didn't play nice with others. Reid and the Chiefs may not have the same target on their backs now, but give it time.

1. They changed the OT rule because it benefited the Chiefs once after beating Bills. When it benefited the Pats everyone was fine with it. 2. Chiefs last year had the most penalized team on defense (Sneed) and offense (J. Taylor) 3. J. Taylor literally jumped a tad bit slower all his career but NFL only started cracking down on it once he moved to the Chiefs. 4. Refs are incompetent in almost all games because a complex sport like football is hard to officiate but the haters only see what they wanna see.

@Chiefs_fan15952 күн бұрын
Well said Rich. It is hilarious to me that grown adults think like this. Massive indictment of our society at large. When I was a kid I thought Brady was overrated, that the refs threw the games for them, that he was bailed out by his defense and he wasn’t even close to the greatest QB of all time. I thought that way because I was a literal child. I’ve grown up and matured and I realize that isn’t how the world works. If it had ANY weight to it the referees would be throwing the game for a larger market than KC. They would have thrown at least ONE of those Chiefs playoff games for the Bills to make it an actual rivalry. But they don’t because that isn’t reality. It’s a conspiracy theory. Not only is it a conspiracy theory but it’s a lunatic theory not backed by any factual reality outside of people’s predetermined opinion that “the NFL is rigged for the Chiefs” where they disregard anything that cuts against it and only embrace what they twist into confirming it. It’s one thing for other fandoms to think that way but the Patriots fans? The deflategate and spygate team? I’m not saying those scandals made them win I think they would have won anyway but man it’s so beyond hypocritical to hear grown adults say stuff like “the NFL is rigged for Taylor Swift and the Chiefs and my concrete evidence of that is that my fee-fees are hurt when the Chiefs win.” Every week it’s something new. They’ve now co-opted political buzzwords and call it “Chiefs/Mahomes Derangement Syndrome.” It’s wild to me to see NFL “fans” who hate the Chiefs so much they would rather see the Chiefs lose than their team win. They spend more time talking about how much they hate the Chiefs and how rigged it is than they do discussing their own team. It opened my eyes to how flawed our society is and I think social media is playing a huge role. It is now common practice to disregard objective reality and replace it with a manufactured one based solely on reactionary emotionality.

Well said. It really is mass delusion and extreme warping of objective reality by the fans. Perfect example of mass formation psychosis.
