How and why does the moon go from blue /quarter/half/ full etc and back, and a bit of a refresher about the earth's orbit in general. I'm sure I learnt it in school but I've forgotten, yet wonder when I'm walking my dogs in the park downunder in the depths of winter; and 2. I just finished watching the Netflix series Chernobyl. Can you find out and tell us about radiation, ie; how it burns through skin at high levels, causes cancer at medium levels, and makes any affected substance toxic for a Zillion years, yet plantlife, wildlife etc apparently is in abundance wild and free around Chernobyl at the moment. I could look it up myself I guess but I'd much prefer the convenience and pleasure of Simon explaining it to me in under 30min, bless him.

when i lived in south africa, you would buy a loaf of bread, and then there was a bread slicing machine that would turn your loaf into sliced bread. then it went into the bag, and we took home sliced bread. this was around 1994, and south africa was mostly like 10-20 years behind america, so that's how we got our sliced bread. but there was no presliced bread on the shelves, you had to get your fresh bread loaf at the bakery and put it through the bread slicer before going home
@colinmcdonald24994 жыл бұрын
This is done for reasons of deliciousness, no? My best homemade brunches/ sandwiches/ dinners with always happen when a whole unsliced loaf of bread is available. Pre sliced bread toasted will do the job, but not as good.
@BothHands14 жыл бұрын
Colin McDonald possibly, but the primary reason was that we just didn't have the culture, technology, or futuristic preservatives they have now, to make sliced bread available on the shelves . i thought it was normal until i came to america at age 10, and my parents were poor due to the exchange rate and the cost of moving to the other side of the world. so my parents bought me presliced wonderbread, and i was so confused as to where the actual bread was. an entire slice of wonderbread could be flattened to be about as thin as a sheet of paper. and the only cheese i had ever known was gouda, which was the only cheese sold in south africa at the time. so when my parents got that fake kraft imitation cheese for my lunch sandwiches, i would just not eat lunch because none of it was at all pleasant

Moving out on my own in 1994 AKA prehistoric times I used a couple of these one sided toasters, a central coiled heating element and 2 flaps on either side dropped down for you to lay your bread on, then turn the dial which raises and lowers the flaps so the bread 'leans' against the metal mesh surrounding the heating element at an 85 degree angle, DON'T WALK AWAY as there was no buzzer, it just keeps toasting! as soon as it reaches your desired toastiness you drop the side flaps, flip the half toasted bread and repeat. Despite this ancient way of toasting bread the finished product was fully edible and just like today's toast it could support a jam or butter type substance spread across it's surface to enhance flavor P=

@robertt93424 жыл бұрын
Well, realistically the excess demand would create addition scarcity and will cause people to buy the bread the days following. -The bread makers will likely increase production tying to satiate the demand. - This in turn leads to a small temporary shortage of flour causing people to go out and stock pile flour and yeast making the problem worse. -Bread makers if they didn't plan for it will see an excess in supply of bread as people's demand is now satiated. -Flour and yeast supply is still strained for about a week as stockpiles are shipped in to cover the difference. -Supply returns to normal and people are left with significantly more bread, flour and heat then they need.
