Who Is A Leader? | Epic Men | The Book of 1 Timothy | Ep. 12

Keeping in mind our goal for these episodes is to learn how we can be leaders by leading those in our life who are following, in our homes, neighborhood, work, church.
Notice, if you desire to be a leader (I know some of you will say, I’m not trying to be a leader, but as we have said before, you are leading), you desire a very good thing.
What are the qualifiers for the position? We will give 2 for this episode.
Without blame. Is that even possible? Many of us would say: well, that really disqualifies me because I have a pretty bad past. Paul understood that thought very well. But what is Paul trying to say here? When we come to Christ, God wipes clean the past wrongs of our life and does not hold it against us anymore. So, here Paul is dealing with people who have become followers of Christ and He has changed their lives. How they live after that time. Yes, people will who know about our past before Christ can and may throw it up in our faces, but God stands with us to justify our standing with Him.
Secondly, Paul says the husband of one wife or the wife of one husband.
Let me offer 2 thoughts in this.
1. For anyone who is a Christian, there is no justification for having or considering another women (or man) when you are already married to someone.
2. It may seem unknown by most other people but God knows when we are entertaining another person in our lives through the tool of pornography. This is also putting another woman (or more) in our lives. This cannot be done and still enjoy the blessing of God on your life. Those involved, understand we have compassion for you challenge, BUT it is something you need to find deliverance before it destroys everything in your life and disqualifies you from being an effective leader for others.
