Lol perfect timing! Just beat this awesome game two days ago. My personal favorite is Hikari. I got to the point where I was completely decimating any enemy with him. Ochette with the right monster abilities and max BP "Provoke Beasts" is a true powerhouse that can do massive damage/break to both single enemies and multiple. Castii really found solid use in my party too. Great vid, dude.

'In the early and mid game, Partitio will be a disgustingly broken BP battery...' ...and in the late game you give him arcanist and laugh at what the rest of the game has to offer. Hired help after getting the assassins is also some crazy aoe damage output.

If you give Temenos of equal might (gives his physical attack the same value of his elemental) and equip him with arms master he can be really good at breaking enemies using his latent power and six fold strike. Elemental Barrage isn’t a bad way to break either, but you can save a lot of BP using six-fold strike which is a guaranteed 6 hit regardless of BP usage, whereas the max you can do with elemental barrage is 8 and you’d need to use all your BP to have a shot.

Maybe noteworthy that there are only two possible party combinations that feature every possible path action at all times: Ochette, Throné, Temenos and Osvald or Hikari, Agnea, Castti and Partitio If one wants a smooth game experience, starting out with either one of those would be ideal.

All girls(except Ochette) should be given hunter class for obvious reason. But honestly I think Throne should be mindlessly given everything that boosts her speed and then just wait for that sweet damage from her divine skill.

There is a glitch that lets Ochette summon boss beast 5 times a turn. So she can full heal, full BP restore, AOE buff, and AOE debuff in one turn and do it again every turn. If you count that she is the best character in the game because she makes your team immortal if you are tanky enough to not be one shot.

Without knowing this I choose Hikari in Octo 2 and H'aanit in Octo 1 as my mains. Not a bad choice only for the class and looks.

Decent list, but some passive skills can massively change it. Osvald with Armsmaster while equipping the passive "of equal might" (gained from maxxing the arcanist job, if I recall well) is pretty busted if you spent the entire game nutting his elemental attack. Of course, the other side of the coin would be Hikari and the scholar class if you spent the whole game nutting up his physical damage. Also, Ochette with her provoke beasts glitch can be also a lot of fun in the endgame against the final secret boss, when you summon back to back 5 or 6 endgame optional bosses, recharge her BP with Cassti, then rinse and repeat every single turn.

I am not surprised Casti was highest. Octopath 1 Alfin was the my best character too. Even with some of the nerfs the Apothecary gits in Octopath 2, It was clear still that Casti would be vital. She was the reason I the key character for be to in defeating Galdera. Buffing and curing my party while poisoning and de-buffing the boss.

There were a couple of weak classes in the first game (cleric and dancer imo) but they all got ridiculously buffed in this game. Everybody feels OP in their own way but apothacary Castti still reigns supreme.

3:03 you are overlooking the fact Partitio is the only character able to throw out Turn ZERO divine skills. With Step Ahead, Full Power, and his Latent he can drop any divine skill you want to make your team strong. Sealticge's on your Temenos to set everyone to 9999 hp with his EX? Done.

I have Temenos with the Armsmaster subclass, and his latent power with sixfold strike is pretty broken on most bosses up to level 45.

On point with the list, though Id honestly eliminate the shit tier and move Oswald up. He and Temenos just are the same character late game pretty much. Temenos might have a slight advantage thanks to his latent being universally useful, but not a tier's worth. Id personally knock Ochette down a tier. Not because she isnt mid tier maxed out, but because the games UI doesnt tell you what any the abilities do. Meaning you have to test out each and every ability. You also have to do this with everyone else's companions, but often their kit isnt as dependent on them and there are a ton of monster abilities to test.

concort is still game breaking and not so suprise since people have been abusing this since OT1, one more thing that is Osvald is just exactly like soccerer Therion with the weapon that strongly buff in fire attribute, pair him with thief and he will just burn everything

If you are willing to use the insanely broken Ochette Glitch then she is easily the best character in the game, even beating out Casti (unless the glitch was fixed). Without the glitch, I can agree with Ochette's placement.

Not really? The damage to the monsters get nerfed significantly so she still isn’t doing close to the damage others can do(it is really op for breaking but she doesn’t even need it) and the rebuffs and buffs still only apply once not stack up

@@traytyler9951 You haven't used the glitch with a select 10 star monsters have ya? The 10 star monsters are not one time use with the glitch. Meaning, in just one turn Ochette can break shields, render the party invincible for a few attacks, fully restore the party, grant a variety of buffs, restore party BP and apply a variety of debuffs. This can be done every turn indefinitely with no restrictions. These effects can be mixed and matched depending on the needs of the fight. I can't see how anyone could argue that any other character in the game can provide more than this in one turn.

@@ehabibcause the damage gets nerfed significantly to the point dread wolf is doing only 1000 every attack which adds up to like 3000 at the ends of the turn, that literally nothing. The effects also don’t stack so it doesn’t add to it when you re do it. It is very good for breaking yes but ochetet already has breaking ability for about everything. Ochette can’t do any good damage and you can’t use monsters normally to do good damage or else you lose the ability to use this glitch. Castii does everything better but she actually can hit for 400k unlike ochetet how is ochette better?

@traytyler9951 the only thing ochette doesn't do with the glitch is high damage. But does it matter if she can provide everything else your party needs in one turn. Everyone can be a decent damage dealer if you build them properly but nobody else can provide the broken levels of support that this glitch allows. Battleworn shark restores HP/SP/BP to party, devourer of dreams grants 2 stacks of dodge and reflect to the party (that can stack on each other so it is easy to max), scourge of the sea destroys 6 shields regardless of weakness, dire wolf lowers enemy speed and defense. These are the main 4 that are needed and the other monsters can be whatever you want really. You now have a completely invincible party who never has to worry about HP/SP/BP matters and never has to worry if they have the right set up to break shields. Casti cannot provide all that in one turn, she may be able to provide some with a bit of rng but not consistently.

i am gonna say only one thing WITH THIS HANDS on a side note, i use Throne with conj. she can already do brutal damage as a thief (she already has her scaling damage skill) and can debuff phy stats, thanks to the conj subclass she can also add 1 more hit of break to the enemy on all party memeber, 4 more shield break in a single turn rotation, busted, immunity and resistence to enfeebling effects, BP, SP and an emergecy revive+buff on all the party also, i tested for a long time Partitio with Apothecary and i find it very nice, you usually wanna try to preserve your bp to donate theme every time to those who really needs theme and with apothecary you just use the poison axe to do tic damage or heal/cure status, you are a full supp at this point that can still dish out good damage with hired help, you can also use your latent power at the start to set up Dohter's Charity if you need to support the team, a thing that Castti usually don't really use much bc of her broken concoct, he also gains a st revive/heal and he in a way he can support even better the team vs archanist build bc with Dohter's Charity you can still recover hp and sp to everyone (even better then when you use rest with arcanist, many items are broken) but also bp, latent power, cure status, option are really good, sure you lose party side step but for me, not a big deal Also for Castti, i use her as a Thief, yes, you heard that right, a thief! She has everything in her kit when we talk about buff and debuff...well, almost. She can't debuff both phy defense/atk on the enemy and i don't really like her ex skill drastic measure to do damage but with the thief sub class the can debuff phy damage/defense and also get a skill that can do big damage if you build her for speed, she also can hit dark weakness if needed, she can finally set up both herself and the team and switch to support (concoct/poison axe) to damage when needed, also i followed this path bc i am not a big fun to demolish everyone with the magic damage concoct but the utility of breaking shields still is there

Excuse me? Did you just claim that Castti "The first character of ANY Octo title that I actually needed Break Damage Limit for" Florenz might lack in damage? Turn 1: Ochette Leghold Trap, Throne Armor Corrosive, Castti boosted Concoct to inflict a bunch of debuffs on the enemy, any fourth party member to give Castti a BP-restoring Pomegranate. Turn 2: continue debuffing, possibly even including items, until Castti uses her Drastic Measures EX skill, which removes every debuff on the target and SCALES DAMAGE ACCORDINGLY. She is THE premier boss slayer in the Solistian party.

I raise you: Turn 1: Temenos breaks the boss with his latent and elemental barrage. Dancer gives damage buff to 1hp Hikari. Ochette summons Brawler bones to place debuffs on all enemies. Turn 2: Hikari triple boosts limb from limb and deals 4x 99999 damage to the boss

only downside to OT 2 is that is has way less dungeons and the world and areas seem way smaller! there is a lot of empty space on the map. Hinouema has the most optional dungeons with 4. all the other lands have maybe 2. totohaha has just 1. it also has fewer sidestories but the overall quality has improved a lot! which was a godo change

One of these days Hikari shall be god tier but I do think that Partitio and Agnea should be maybe moved up one tier each. Partito with his rest ability is basically on demand burst damage and well if we're going to allow Side classes Seal of diffusion paired with rest and Stepside invalidates a lot of the bosses you'd encounter not to mention Rest invalidates basically any heal skill because not only it's free but you also recover HP. SP, and recover from status aliments. Well except for the inventors heal skill which paired with Agnea is insane, 4 BP with 100% Hp/SP and revival should be illegal. not to mention her innate talent can melt enemies if you have the right set up also Song of hope exists which bosters her own skills and Partito's ~~This totally isn't excuse for 2 of my favorite characters to be better repped~~

Agnea is god tier. Her Latent Ability is broken. She is by far the best AOE nuker in the game. She can also do sick combos with Hikari and Castti. Her Divine Skill is the games best as well, and her first EX is godsend. And her dance party can recover her SP so she can go indefinitely. Agnea basically is the secondary class master of the game. Agneamaster makes random fights nothing.
