The original Modulock ad may be one of the greatest 80s toy ads ever. MODULOCK!

Another awesome video. Brings back memories of my favorite toys as a kid. MOTU was my favorite and like you said when the Horde came out it felt like it was made special for me those were the best toys.

Classics Modulok was a masterpiece. I think the best figure in the line. MOTUC Modulok was everything the vintage figure was and more. All the parts of the vintage figure, the vintage functioning gimmick, better paint apps, modern articulation...all of it. This figure was the best of the best.

There are a few different versions. One has the "Nosferatu" head, one has the "Bug" head, and there's another version with both heads and extra legs.

i was pretty taken aback when i turned the page of a MOTU coloring book to see this amazing new minion of _skeletor_ named “modulok.” this was well before the evil horde was introduced. when he finally appeared as a toy i quickly noticed that he was the only horde member bearing no bat symbol and surmised that he was delayed and re-conceived as a hordesman

Fun video! Thank you! Loved this figure, one of the best in Classics. I think I ended up getting five of these -- one for "Big Monster" Modulok, one to make "Flimation" Modulok, one to make a MegaBeast, one for extra parts for the Filmation Modulok and MegaBeast, and one to just keep on my desk to play with.

Modulok is possibly the best-designed figure in all of MOTUC. The solution you found for joint wear and tear (from popping pegs in and out) is GENIUE! By contrast, I remember how Socket Poppers broke pretty much immediately with the same gimmick.

I really have to say that you guys knocked Modulok right out of the park! He's always been a favourite of mine and you really did him justice with the Classics release. I actually did get two in anticipation of building a Megabeast someday. Really glad you got around to Multibot eventually so I could make that dream come true, haha. As for parts re-use, I do believe that Lizard Man used the humanoid arms except the hands and he also used the humanoid thighs. One bugbear I do have with Modulok is that one set of hips are permanently attached to his torso. I think you said at the time that it was an engineering issue. I'm just glad it was resolved by the time Multibot rolled around, because you can pop him apart at the waist! 😁

Tooling : The Figure ! I wish they'd done more of these. Maybe a whole line of them. Modulok and the robot version whose name I don't remember were my absolute favorite figures when they came out. I still have them in the back room somewhere in their own little sandwich bag. Yes, they have to live together forever, so I hope the two (or is it four) of them can get along ...

I had so many of those Fossil Dinosaurs but I don't think I had many Horde figures. I'm pretty sure my friend had it as I recall trying to assemble him without much luck hehe. Its like the Rubix Cubes where people would pull off the stickers and stuff. That Closed Boxed stuff is pretty eh would have made an ideal Build a Figure Maybe? I remember another toy I had or played with akin to that but can't recall the name. Heh they would probably ban the head between the legs way they are these days from those images :). Heh that makes me think of the episode of Futurama when they wanted the guys horn. That Horde Trooper disguise is kinda cool I'll admit. Comedy is always enjoyable for those laughing if nothing else ;).

Moducok (the c and the l are not even close to each other) is one of those figures that set a standard for kids. There are kids that had it and kids that wanted it. I was a Joe fan and saw this at my buddy's house and wanted it. It was so cool. You and your team did a great job of translating this figure to a modern interpretation in MOTUC. I truly hope MOTUO gets the opportunity to make this figure with all of the pieces. IMHO, this would sell better than the Sun Man assortment. But the entire case would need to be Modulok to meet demands. Then Mattel could offer his Robotic creation as a DTC item the following year if Modulok sells well. Possibly with the extra pieces included to make the Ultimate version. I miss the days of collecting UPCs or Flag points, or whatever, and sending those in for a unique figure/vehicle accessory set. That's a great question Scott... What happened to companies offering that?
@RetroActionUK2 жыл бұрын
Definitely one of the most unique and innovative Masters of the Universe figures. By that I mean it led to another buildable MOTU figure that being Multibot but I prefer Modulok. Modulok is one of my favourites from the line. Megabeast looks awesome.

Humm... The heroic masters version of Modulok. It is Peace-Meal, a heroic alien scientist who strives for peace. Basically Modulok in blue. Peace-Meal has his own robot assistant, Multi-Guard. But can they combine?

i was in the 80's he-man until the snake men. Since this time, i really think Classic is the best Motu collection. I wasn't able to buy them at the time (newborn twins so i had to prioritize) and i would just wish Mattel would relaunch it. I know it will never happen.
@kimo_2 жыл бұрын
Modulok would be great in Origins since every figure is detachable so Modulok could use parts of every figure. Unfortunately, Mattel is not doing very well when it comes to facilitating customizations: we have several Skeletors but combining them does not work very well because they use different blues and purples. So I can't help but be wary of them doing their best for Modulok. Mantenna has been given its four legs but they are non-detachable and it is something in which they could have already given a preview of what will later be Modulok, enriching the opportunities to combine figures but they have not done so. And since they are changing colors by making them lighter or darker than the vintage versions, they could have given Webstor and Mantenna the same shade of blue and we could have created a Webstor with four legs. Maybe create a Modulok with a Mantenna head not give us such a good result in the Origins version if they do not have a similar red. Well, at least Mantenna has the Action Feature put on her head, not her back.
@masterfarr82652 жыл бұрын
If I had to guess they’re gonna use the skeleton warriors to make modulok. The new Arms are and chest could go with him and if I had to guess for the legs they would use Mantenna.
