Great list and I think you are right that Mitchell and Keegan will have the most dominant seasons numbers wise, but........ I think whoever wins 184lb as long as they finish undefeated will be the Hodge winner. Lot of "ifs" I know but that is my guess.

Not me. I’m an Oklahoma State fan. I’m well aware. I watched a full season of Dustin Plott barely breaking a sweat against everyone else, but looking completely lost against Keckeisen.

If Storocci goes 197, I don't think anyone will be able to hang with Keckeisen. If Starocci goes 184, then the winner would most likely get the Hodge, I think.....

Carter will probably get it if he has a decent bonus rate and beats Parker in the finals. I know career shouldn't matter but I think some hodge voters will be persuaded if carter becomes the first 5xer. Otherwise I would agree and say Messenbrink

I actually think the Hodge should be career type award or not so dependent on dominance. The fact Mason won over Yianni is insane to me. I wish we had an award to reward lifetime achievement. Carter being a 5x and not winning would be crazy! Not all wrestlers have such an aggressive pace that lends itself to the hodge. Personally I just wish we had two awards.

I like that it IS a dominance award. I get giving it lifetime great, but then it essentially just becomes a popularity contest

I like a dominance record to promote aggressive, action oriented wrestling, it’s just sometimes I think a wrestler could have a near perfect career and make one mistake to prevent them from winning it. As mentioned, I like Mason, but it felt unjust for him to win it over 4x Yianni. I also think you could overcome the popularity issue with some good criteria, but you’re thirdly right it would be an issue to face.

I really liked how you tackled this. If you're choosing the Most LIKELY to win, you have to go with the person that's most likely to win. Pre-season: 1: Messenbrink 2: Kerk 3: O'Toole 4: Starocci 5: Keckisien. If Keckisien didn't likely have Starocci, he'd probably be #1. This whole list likely shifts halfway thru the season.

Wow, I've never thought of this, but I think the Hodge has nothing to do with best wrestler, because if all these guys were in the same weight class, Carter would grind out a win against all of them, imo.
