I am considering taking up rollerblading. I am also going on 72 years of age. I like broken hips. Humbles me.

Get some padded shorts for skaters. I wear just 1 pair for now at age 60 (Tortoise Pads).

@@andre1987eph I am going roller skating next Saturday. Thanks for the heads up. I need to buy some rollerblades as they don't rent them at the rink. For now I am on skates. I was surprised how I could not remember how to skate after all of those years of not skating. I used to race on the rink when I was a kid. It is not like riding a bike. However after going around the rink 20 times I was skating at a rookie rate. I have a lot of improvement to look forward to. I did have a lot of smiles after I got the hang of it again. When I left the rink I really felt good about the experience. I even made a roller rink music video on KZbin music. Now I need to shop for roller blades.

When we were kids we do a lot of "parkour" because we live literally in a concrete jungle and there are lots of areas that were off limits and like JP we like to bend the rules a bit but I definitely can't do those things now just thinking about the heights we used to jump and climb feels surreal.

We have a mini prairie with a mini lake just next door to our condo but it's off limits because it was formerly a garbage dump at the opposite side and a former adobe quarry at our side but nature has reconquered it with beautiful flowering lilies in the lake and dandelions growing on the cliff walls but still is prohibited to go there and there is a high concrete wall that we have to jump from a lone concrete base like jumping to a balance beam apparatus to mount it and lift our body across the wall. It hurts like hell bumping into the wall because you only have one chance to grab the sharp wall or you'll fall.

As living in a concrete jungle we as kids don't want to be denied of eating fresh fruits that we picked ourselves and that's why we raid decrepit a heavy machinery dump where fruiting trees grow naturally. But those trees can grow as high as five story buildings so we climb the trees or cranes or walls next to the trees just to get the fruits. Then we travel home and all the kids ask for some and we give them handfuls. My knees are actually shaking every time because I'm not really as brave as my cousin who can climb like a monkey. Some friends that come along just take the low-hanging fruits or they don't climb as high while we aim for the best.

The aratelis fruit is extremely perishable and delicate that's why the only way to have it is to pick it yourself.
