Edit: If you mean the fact sometimes she has 3 wolves and other times 4 wolves, her skill gives her +2 wolves at any MR rank. She starts with 1 and after being deployed for a while she gains a second passively. So S3 takes her from 1-3 or 2-4.

While I do think Lappy is stronger overall, I don't think this was a good showcase and it shows a lot of bias. Nearly every use of GG here (except 1:45) would have her perform better with S1 or S2. The main benefit of GG's S3 is regardless of where she is on the map, she can take out enemies who are close to the blue box, while Lappy's drones target the closest enemy to themselves, and none of these example showcase that aspect (correct me if I'm wrong on the Lappy part here). Also, at 1:08, why did you place GG 1 tile further forward than Lappy? Obviously she would get defeated sooner.

I don't really see this as powercreep because for the most they seem to do the jobs equally, though I will say GG had a harder time with horde trash mobs, but Lappy did less to patriot. Also Lappys wolves have travel time and GG gets most of her damage from explosion procs. Best way I can think of it is they are both different types of knives, both cut very well and technically can use them for each other's rolls but for specific situations using the correct one will make it better.

I wouldn't say I had to use 3 GG skills on the map therefore she preformed bad it is map dependent just like most of the game. the problem with high skill cycles VS low skill cycles is do the matter or not as longer maps tend to also have long periods of time before you get pressured again so you can wait 40 seconds for a skill to come back. the question becomes how long did I wait between skills and unless you are low oping a stage it literally doesn't matter bc you have other ops to cover your downtime.

I think they are well balanced around each other! GG drones individually (with explosions included) do more damage specially to higher Res. Lappland drones have more Aoe potential but actually deal less damage per dones but the reason Lappland does more damage is 1 extra drone and lappland continues attacking while in skill. GG drones will follow conventionally targeting ie. closest to box minus any taunt enemies (Shiledguards) and can switch targets mid attack ie reset target on explosion. allowing you to save/pickoff problems. Lappland drones get "stuck" on what they target first, even when new critical targets come out. But that targetting is so wolflike, pack of wolves roaming the map to hunt more prey. JUST USE BOTH.

You should use both to cover for the other operator when one doesn't have their skill up. If the difference between Lappy and GG is a wide margin then the difference between Texas and Phantom is the Grand Canyon. GG is still clearly very strong as she has always been while Phantom was considered just okay even on release. While I would say that yes most people will likely replace GoldenGlow with Lappland, there is real immense value to having both in your squad at the same time.

So, Goldenglow was my 3rd 6 star ever, I have had her as my assistant ever since her l2d skin came out, she's my comfort character for when I don't wanst to figure out mechanics and I love her to bits, that said, she got powercrept hard and it's not even close, this is a real Ch'en vs Irene situation, so the way drone casters work, getting more drones means basically having another caster with the same skill stats and talent hitting the enemy, lappland has 1 more drone than GG and she doesn't stop attacking, so that's 5 casters vs 3 casters hitting the enemy, GG has a crit and some res ignore, but that's not enought to get ahead of 2 other 6 star caster drones hitting an enemy, with the way that res works, GG needs an enemy with ridiculous levels of res, the type you wouldn't pit her alone against, sorry to say, my girl got powercrept hard. TL;DR : Lappland alter's damage floor and celing are just straight up above goldenglow because drone caster trait is very broken and arts damage scales great with multi-hit.

the only time that I can even think that you would want to use GG over lappy alter is SSS. and that is mainly bc attack speed buffs are way cheaper than 5 stack tactician vanguards/casters. mainly because there aren't enough VGs to consistently stack lappy alter up. not that GG s3 is that good for the mode when things go right she can technically solo most of the mode but SP cost doesn't really matter in that mode the main appeal of GG was you could spawn kill some mobs so you could advance the stage faster but due to there now being stat caps in SSS you tend to want really high range and DPS skills put 4 in your roster and mull for one of them and the buffs you slowly draw through your deck till you get 3 DPS to cycle and kill everything and you don't have to worry about massive stat inflation anyways due to the cap being way lower than before. so basically the only mode I could see there being a difference lappy having super relevant CC for the mode kills her s3 usage. and for example S2 of GG is also fine in SSS but it isn't really comparable to lappy s3 we are comparing global ranges here. SSS could also theoretically increase res of enemies which could make GG better but most of the time it is HP def atk that increases per level it has happened before that res and move speed etc does increase by level but it doesn't matter. not that I am like the only one who actually likes playing SSS so not that people will care about in SSS GG might have a situation where she is more practical to use. I dislike GG comps in the mode already you can get fucked by starting hands and it is RNG based damage too. tldr: schizoposting about a mode nobody else likes

How they work will determine when best to use either. Logos is probably superior to both. Laptop looks so fun though.

Its funny how ppl coping "iTs NoT pOwErCrEeP reeee!!! " Like lets be real, providing a bunch of utility + having higher total dmg is better than random aoe+ slow majority of time (>70% of the time). Heck the "90 res" argument fall flat too when GG cant even 1 cycle patriot too. How about comparing both of their performance with virtuosa instead huh??? Not saying to not use GG but y'all need to call things for what it really is. Its like how calling an adult as a child is wrong, calling a biological male as female is also wrong. calling an operator thats use case being replaced the majority of time, as not a powercreep is also wrong

This is a PvE game. The powercreep doesnt matter much. GG will still be sufficient to clear stages.
