Dude, get off of Kings nuts already. If you over pressure king you beat him. Numan didn’t attack enough. And I hate your takes. You try and make everything that Steve does looks like expert high level stuff, but like the stuff king does is easy mode lol. And also, people that do running gs don’t really buffer it, we’re just good enough to do the move:

Is it not helpful to King players to lay out his game plan so they can more optimally play him?
@EmptyTenementSpirit9 ай бұрын
Okay but King does have probably the best and most rounded CH game in T8 considering that every other CH based char lost a lot of their CH tools or had them changed completely into different moves. King isn't beyond broken or anything but King is very good and has a lot of things that other chars simply didn't lose. Bryan lost FF4 CH, Steve lost DF2 CH launch, these are just examples but they still happened. King basically kept all of his CH tools for no discernible reason beyond they felt like not removing them from his kit. Which is fine! King always had a good CH game, so why did other CH chars lose a bunch of CH tools? Stop coping, King is very good, but he's also not top 1 omegabroken, you are not a victim for people talking about how good King is.

I'm really sad Numan was eliminated but at the same time, seeing a king at that level was a treat. King also highlighted Steve's biggest problem in this game; Numan had to put SO MUCH effort into getting his combo damage, this happened against all of his opponents, while King; man needed to land like 2-3 hits and he would always catch up. I honestly believe if Steve like did Dragnuv level damage Numan would clean the tournament raw. Like look at 21:11, Numan did so much god level reads to get The Jon that low and in response The Jon takes out 90% of his health off of an air grab from a counterhit hop knee. I get he was in rage so he had the 10% buff that is still insane.
@P_Pacey9 ай бұрын
Last week was arguing this King player on how King's nerfs were justified. Mentioned exactly that, King at any point of the match can kill you. If I mained king as I do Bryan. I'd never feel threated because all my tools at any point of the match can snowball hard because the damage, CH chance and how most of King's moves wipe recoverable damage that it's not funny. While everyone else at low health thinks, "I need to be careful how I place my next plays and should make reads." for King it's mostly just "He gonna powercrush here. So grab! Or he will poke here so CH into 55-70 damage or Heatsmash and we back in business baby!"

MMA exists and we have seen how easy it is for wrestlers to take down strikers who don't have good takedown defense.
@Manley1569 ай бұрын
@@bahjont Yes, inversely we see how frequently wrestlers lack a good stand up game and get chinned. Your point is moot when it goes both ways. Strikers need good takedown defense (and in the current era of mma they often do) and wrestlers need basic striking and know how to close distance.
@bonfist72779 ай бұрын
@@Manley156 The difference is that wrestlers work that movement and footwork as well. As you stated, it’s a matter of their lacking skill that would result in their loss. If you took a complete pure wrestler and a complete pure boxer, the boxer has no idea what to do against a shot, takedown, and ground work. The wrestler would at least know to avoid a dude punching at them through his own footwork, finding his distance and opportunity. And with one success, it’s over.
@Kenshi8769 ай бұрын
@@Manley156 It doesnt go both ways.A boxer that doesn't have takedown defense will lose very time. Wrestlers do get chinned in the UFC but theres no such thing as a UFC fighter thats clueless in grappling all UFC fighters have spent many hours on the mat practicing their grappling even if its only to defend takedowns. A pure boxer wont have a clue what to do against a takedown and will be powerless to defend it.
@tongpoo89859 ай бұрын
A wrestler wins every time. If he can lay a finger on the boxer's legs, it's over. Boxer won't know how to sprawl effectively, and once the takedown is complete, there is little to no chance of escape. Also, weirdly when some fighters that specialize in wrestling fight pure strikers, they have some unique advantages in the striking since the takedown is such a big threat, they can fake a takedown then come over the top with an overhand. Go watch khabib v gaethje and you can see how gaethje has difficulty even in the striking because he has to be constantly ready to sprawl and can't find his footing + has to keep his hands a lower

I think the one thing that would really solidify Steve's offensive capabilities is his UF2 getting one additional buff that he should have gotten with the range extension, and that is making it safe on block. Almost every character that has an "orbital" move is not only safe on block, but leads to much more damage and wall carry than Steve's UF2. There's no reasonable explanation that can justify why a jumping overhead punch is more unsafe than a huge telegraphed high arc SPINNING roundhouse kick. Just make it safe on block, and Steve becomes a bigger offensive threat while not becoming broken.
