Cheng Xiaoshi’s power doesn’t have a time limit only Lu Guangs does. They limited it to 12 hours because after that Lu Guang wouldn’t know what happened and couldn’t guide Cheng Xiaoshi on what to do and say. But Lu Guang can stay in the past as long as he wants.

the guy at the end was liu xiao and was shown at the end of s2 with li tianchen (the pink haired brother). liu xiao is also the brother of liu min (the blonde rich guy who was controlled) so he is not cheng xiaoshi's father in otherwords lmao

the show being a prequel is actually INSANE set up for season 3, becs cheng xiaoshi obviously doesnt die this time. Instead, we're absolutely terrified for season 3 since season 2 said liu xiao (the younger brother of liu ming//blonde serial killer from season 1) is coming BACK. And we know liu xiao has dubious connections to the prequel, so its setting up cheng xiaoshi's actual death in season 3 since death is a node that can't be changed BUT ALSO a really interesting point this epsiode is that lu guang is psychologically getting lost in time. Moments of cheng xiaoshi overlap with OG cheng xiaoshi and freak lu guang out, however whole scenes interweave with each other without explicitly telling the audience its different timelines. link click is such an intelligent show with its time travel and setting up plot!! > when i first saw the OP i was like "oh its cute!" but not season 1 or 2 levels of crazy. Then i saw that the director cried at it... then i watched the episode and cried in the first 10 minutes... the OP is lu guang's grief :')))

Yeah, this was stated to be a prequel - not too long ago it was confirmed the actual season 3 was looking to be 24 episodes. I was not expecting the first 5 minutes having everyone dead 😭😭😭 The trailers leading up to this also have us questioning about CXS's parents. Man, I feel bad for Vivian. She wanted to actually be the version of herself she lies to orhers about. Shame she got got like that 😭
