Dan…Mills Keller is a great choice. Roger Rothar was by far the greatest whitetail hunter that paved the way for all of these so called young killers presently. Dan your the only well known deer hunter that gives credit where credit is due. Look these young guys have hijacked the knowledge and tactics from real hunters of yesteryear well before their time…that’s a fact🦌🦌

M.R. James was one of founders of bow hunting magazine. He 81 years old. I believe hunted every day this season. Never shot a buck this year on his Indiana farm. Because the buck he was after was with doe’s still. The amount of pictures he had of the big 10 and other bucks is just amazing. If you don’t follow him on FB I would highly recommend.

That's the hard thing about the drurys and lakoskis ... people forget where they come from and how they worked to get where they are but as they stand nowadays how they hunt ya cant call them the best hunters as your saying. But I'd do what they do if I could but I would shake it up and go back to the beast style hunting . Theres nothing like setting up a stand for the first time and then killing a buck out of it the same evening .

Jeremy Aron’s my best Beast Style hunter. He’s incredible Non Beast Michael Waddell. He was a Turkey calling champion, hunted regular land, and he’s stayed about as real as anyone could with his level of success. He also is more about the hunt than the trophy

Yes he has... Truth is Dan doesn't look like he is in shape to even hunt public... I don't believe half the crap I hear these people say... I hunt public land in Central Florida... I'd love to see these guys come down here in these swamps and show me a 100+ deer... These woods would break most hunters... I've realized that they all have to sell a KZbin or TV channel or a product and they all piggy back off local hunters to get inside info of where to hunt.

Chuck Adams was a great hunter but he had money to travel and kill all the animals he harvested. He wasn’t hunting public land on a majority of his trips either. Any man or woman that heads out to match wits with a whitetail deer is a hunter and we shouldn’t be calling them out on what they look like or weather they can do it where we do. I know I wouldn’t be bouncing around in public land in the UP of Michigan looking to harvest deer in the late season after 2-3 foot of snow has fallen. Every area has hard and unique challenges, just remember we all have to stay United as hunters and be happy you can do it your way and the others can do it their way.

I’m a big fan of tournament bass fishing. But Ive never thought about hunting in a competitive way like that. However I think a small field series filmed in the same way elk101 does destination elk with viewers voting for the best hunter of the season could be interesting. With the winner not necessarily determined by antler size or animal weight but by a combination of skills and measurables.

I appreciate what Dan said about the “journey” of public land hunting. I know some guys that I cannot have an educated conversation with about deer because they don’t know much, yet somehow they have big bucks on their wall………… they hunt manicured private land. I have no disrespect for that at all, in fact I’m glad they have that opportunity. But I can promise you this. They don’t have the same stories and learning experiences, nor the challenge of what a public land Hunter has.

Kind of a loaded question on who's the best. With most that are named, they probably own or able to hunt on the best properties. The second is if you have the time. The biggest killer of big bucks is patience and time to go. Even a blind pig finds a kernel of corn. The best hunters are the guys you will never hear about.

Hey whatever works for you guys my dad always taught me stalking and hunting on the ground, as i got older i get in trees for the most part now and combine those styles and it seems to be good for me, but you gotta know where the deer are and how to find them without them noticing you, also good to have multiple places to hunt as of now i only have access to public which i actually have done better on, but i think its the tactics i use that helped me improve

Josh/ what do you guys think of the SeekOne guys or Lee? He hunts in high density cities and kills many 170to 200+ deer. I hunt some suburban areas and many people think the deer are just use to people and easy to kill, I will tell you that is so far from the truth. Great episode and keep up the great content.

How good of a hunter you are truly all depends on the terrain you're hunting....flat ground or rolling hills is a lot easier to hunt than mountainous terrain like you find in West Virginia, or Western Va., believe me mountains with ridges and deep hollows is very hard to stay concealed from a mature buck or doe. Wind current is everything, so hunting from an elevated position on flat ground is a big advantage but a lot more difficult in the mountains. I would challenge anyone to kill a true Boone and Crockett wild West Virginia or Virginia buck on public land.....it doesn't happen too often!

I too love hunting on public lands bcz I have so many choices to go vs on a private piece of land. I can rotate my stands on public land. I agree w/ u guys that given the opportunity and the $ to afford my own 500 acre farm, I would hunt the way Mark and Lee/Tiffany do
