Hey Frank, great video as always! Rupes Yellow Fine Polish in my experience is best to use with their yellow foam, MF or wool pad. Rupes yellow fine wool with yellow fine polish is great for medium cut on hard paints and has really smooth and forgiving action. It's not great as a one step though, as I believe it has no diminishing abrasives, hence why it does not finish great. I think their uno advanced would be best for that purpose. For efficiency, theres nothing that beats gold standard paired with their system. Rotary low speed with their red jeweling waffle pad has surprising cut with amazing finish.

Awesome video. This put my mind at ease considering I had a client wanting a 1 step polish last week on their white 2018 Mercedes GLE that I tried The Gold Standard on without much results at all. I started my test spot with a damp yellow DIY waffle pad on my 15mm Milwaukee and tried different machine/arm speeds without any noticeable results. I then moved up to the Purple DIY Wool pad and ran through all the same methods with very very little difference at all. I know Mercedes paint is hard but I had high hopes for the Gold Standard Polish but was let down considering the client was only expecting a 1 step and I felt it was achieving a result I was happy with. Although, I am staying optimistic and look forward to trying it on softer paint.
@dustin3700Ай бұрын
Hard euro paint needs a heavy cut polish and usually a medium to aggressive pad.
@BreezeMWАй бұрын
@ ya I ended up going with Perfect Finish (which was actually formulated specifically for Mercedes paint) and spot treating with CarPro UltraCut. It just took me quite a bit longer to achieve a result I was happy with considering I was playing around with GSP but having no luck. I figured the wool pad would have done something as Yvan has never shown a vehicle in a video that GSP hasn’t “worked” on. Which was the reason I was disappointed but still optimistic

Hi Alfonso thank you for tuning in, appreciate you. I agree with you, if you're making reference to the Blue HDO it's a middle of the road foam pad after all. It sits below the OSP, the MF pad and the Wool in the Lake Country Line up. It's definitely not a heavy cut IMO but a solid one-step pad. Depends on the paint system but yes it did indeed cut quite a bit on this particular GM Black. The same type of pad were used across the test so each product had a fair chance. ✌️

Haze is a defect left by the combo of the pad and polish on this specific paint. I could have used the same combo on BMW paint for example get completely different results.
