Been saying this about Bart Starr forever. At the time he was the QB for the Packers, it was unheard of to have a great passing QB as it was implied that the offense would run through the run game. So to have a QB that could pass as he could, especially for at the time, was unimaginable.

I so mad Rodger’s first year, I wanted to become a Jet’s fan…but I did kept one eye on Rodger’s that year, he just didn’t make any mistakes…favorite game…gotta be 2017 against the Cowboys Rodger’s Cook combo with 3 seconds on the clock…Packers win with a field goal…I agree with your top QB … Rodger’s 100%

Greatest, Starr. Best, Rodgers. Funnest, Favre. I've always seen a difference between the terms greatest and best. Rodgers has the skills to go toe to toe with anyone that has ever played. Starr has the "clutch factor" that makes you dread seeing him when the game matters. Favre just seemed like he wanted to have fun, he would be sick of winning and throw three interceptions in a row, or he would decide he wanted to win and put up three touchdowns. (Head cannon is that Favre threw that last interception to the saints to screw the Vikings one last time.)

Favre coming ot Green Bay made football fun again. It was Reggie White coming to Green Bay that opened the door for more quality Free Agents arriving in town. As a young Packers fan, that was a great time to be a fan, watching your team go from a laughing stock to very successful. And Nags would argue with you that Starr is the best QB of the lot, but you have your points. Good vid, Tom.

idk. There's something to be said about throwing as many picks as he did (Favre) and still having as much success in playoffs / superbowls as the stat machine A Rod. To me it makes it even more impressive that he was able to give the Packers so much success despite that insane flaw
@davidlazarus672 жыл бұрын
I think this is an absolutely fair ranking. Favre was a gunslinger but so many interceptions really kills his overall ranking. Also Rodgers holds the record for fastest to 400 TD’s as well.
@TheBirchwoodVampire2 жыл бұрын
My ranking would be 1. Starr 2. Rodgers 3. Favre. While Rodgers is undoubtedly the most accurate of the 3 ,and I believe the best individual performance from the 3 was Favre’s dad game vs the Raiders. I simply cannot overlook how seamlessly Starr ran the offense of the GOAT Head Coach and the near unrivaled post season success.

I think you did a great job of presenting each player (though if you look at the details a lot of Favres INTs were after the Packers fell behind and had to play catch up, even after the game was seemingly over he kept trying). So, under Rodgers1 of those disappointing playoff years, the first 5 offensive tackles were on the DL by the playoffs. Then there is 'Run the table', where all the cornerbacks were injured and a street free agent was the top CB by the playoffs. Then the year that after injuries the top running back was a wide receiver. Don't forget the year when James Jones was resigned due to injuries and lead the team in receiving touchdowns. Under McCarthy, no idea why, but this team seemed to have an injury bug at 1 position or another every year from 2012 on.

Really great video Tom! Can't argue with Aaron at number 1. I'd put Brett Favre over Starr personally, because of his physical ability as a passer and his peak years from 1995 to 1997 where he was MVP each year. The high number of interceptions (with three of them being awful, game losing picks in the postseason) keep him from being number 1. I'd say Starr is a top 15 QB all time; underrated passing ability, but he did play with superior teams and a superior team. Goes to show the great quarterback history with the Packers having so many legends play for the green and gold.

Many people don't know or forget that back in Bart Starr's day, defenders could tackle receivers, ride their backs, hold them, whatever. As long as the ball wasn't in the air, it was legal. Also, you could hit the quarterback every play. Intentionally hit their heads, knees, etc. Late hits were very rare. Defenders could get 3 full strides after a pass and still take out the QB. Another thing is that the West Coast, dink and dunk, air raids, short precision passing games didn't exist. These are reasons why you can't compare modern stats with the past. QBs that had better than a 1:1 TD to interception ratio, completion pct in the high 50s or low 60s, were considered elite. Great video, btw.

1. Farve had a worse WR core then Rodgers. 2. Farve teams ran a lot more the Rodgers. They ran a true West Coast in a time where most teams ran A LOT. I mean the Bears won with Rez Grossman. The Bus, Jamal Lewis, Shaun Alexander, LT, AP, ect. The League was slower. Rodgers is the better QB but Farve had that Grit/homeboy feel that people just got behind, both players and fans. I feel like this is a Street Baller vs Hooper debate. Also, if Randy gets traded to GB we wouldn't being having this debate 😜
