Those scouting reports on shedeur were accurate when he was a freshman at jsu! I watched him get better and more comfortable every year. People that really know what quarterbacking looks like has him as the first qb off the board.

It’s obvious Colorado was sabotaged from with last year. Their 3-0 start was no fluke. Too many want to see Coach Prime fail, for multiple reasons.

No it's obvious that Colorado had a new head coach, new assistant coaches, new playbook and a majority of their players were new. The first teams they played didn't know what to expect from this new staff and their new players. It's also extremely obvious that TCU was way overrated because of their previous years team and who lost every good player and ended with a losing record. The 3-0 record came against 3 bad teams and once other teams figured out their playbook and adjusted to their playcalling, Colorado got exposed. They didn't beat a single team that finished with a winning record. Colorado may win a game or two more this year because they will be playing in a much weaker conference that just lost their only 2 good teams in OU and Texas. Slimetime will stay this year and maybe next before moving on.

I think when you look at the numbers, Colorado’s QB put up last year with the office. He had no way anyone can say he’s a secondary quarterback this year. All the pieces are going to come together is going to be Cinderella all the way.

Beck is ok but he’s sometimes slow to react and doesn’t have the arm strength to throw his receivers open. Lucky for him he has elite skill players. As for Shedeur, I’m very familiar with the Lewis offense. It’s a version of the Run and Shoot, which I learned from John Jenkins back in the 90’s and ran for about 15 years. I don’t know how many times I watched CU run Hook, Hook Special, Divide and X Choice incorrectly. The Sprint passes were Hook Spc and the OL was not running the correct sets. In the drop back varieties, the stop routes should’ve turned into quick ins and they didn’t. The Hook (which is a corner by #2 or #3 in Spc) turned into a PoCo and the WR was running straight into the Safety and not breaking either in or out. I say this to say that Sanders was right about all the issues with the option routes. He was not holding the ball too long. He was not slow to read. His OL was struggling and his WR’s weren’t breaking into the correct options. The USC game featured those 4 passes over and over, and basically Antonio once and Omarion on his big plays, were the only ones running the routes right. That was a pattern throughout the season. As for the evaluations near the end, those guys have Madden educations. I’m talking the video game and not the legend himself. They clearly know nothing about actual football and they no even less about film study. If stats are all that matter, then Revis was a lousy CB and Matt Stafford must have like 5 Super Bowl wins. The Pros study film, not stats. Bloggers and Gamers study stats. Sanders is clearly better than Beck in accuracy and arm strength and this year we’ll see his true decision making skills in action under Shurmur. I guarantee you that.

Beck has the arm strength. Accuracy is what he lacks (at least last year)

@@thehfamily_ I’m going to humbly disagree. Arm strength is not measured by throwing the ball 70 yards downfield. It’s measured by getting the ball to the window on time. A QB can be accurate within the short to intermediate range, but when he throws behind and high to his receivers in the upper range of the intermediate area and beyond, that’s a lack of arm strength. I know that may sound silly and just sounds a lot like accuracy, but in the upper levels, there’s a difference between knowing where the windows are (accuracy) and being able to hit them (arm strength). I hope that makes sense.

Elite skill players? He had a great TE and a solid slot receiver. His WR2 is a projected 7th round pick and his WR3 went undrafted. Both his RB’s went undrafted. Y’all don’t even know the team just be saying stuff. This year he doesn’t have a single skill player that’s projected higher than a 4th round pick so when he puts up similar numbers again what will the excuse be?

By the way, how did Beck compare to Sanders since Sanders had no OL, no run game, no drafted skill players, etc? Using your criteria of course. Thanks and have a nice day.

@@jasonlewis5350 Because it doesn’t take “elite” skill weapons to put up those numbers. They’re a solid offensive group but this isn’t 2019 Alabama with a 1st round RB and 4 1st round receivers. I’m just correcting the false narrative that Georgia in 2023 had this unbelievable elite offensive unit. I’ve seen Sanders family fans say this over and over yet it isn’t true. I don’t blame them though because I know they didn’t really watch Georgia or know the team. They know the name Bowers from the draft and that’s it. They just assume Georgia being a top ranked team had loaded weapons but it isn’t true. The only other offensive skill player drafted was a slot receiver Ladd McConkey. The “elite” RB duo that I saw Sanders fans saying Beck had went undrafted. His WR2 who will be the WR1 this year is projected as a 7th rounder going into the year and maybe could go up to 4th round with a good year but isn’t seen as an elite prospect. And his WR3 from last year went undrafted. So Beck with a great TE (missed 5 games) solid slot receiver (missed 4 games) and a bunch of other undrafted skill guys put up almost 4,000 yards with a 4-1 TD to interception ratio. I’m not saying he’s a superstar but y’all acting like he’s a bum getting carried by a team full of future NFL stars is just disingenuous.

Dunno whats going on but I can't see my previous posts...anyhow, while Beck is in the SEC and had really good stats to that point, Sheduer played against 5 top 25 ranked teams with the worst O-lins in fbs. Once again, put Sheduer behind UGA's line from last year and they win the NC and he wins the Heisman .

That’s a weird assumption seeing how if you think Sheduer is a big upgrade over Carson then Georgia would’ve been so much better to the point where Sheduer wouldn’t be throwing late in games to have the numbers to win the heisman. Big difference how plays are called when you’re up by 20 late in a game oppose to being in a shootout. There’s a reason Carson had less pass attempts despite playing 3 more games.

@@CBW10 defies reality of what? Despite depth of throws Georgia still had an efficient passing offense that was a top 10 passing offense in the country. There’s only so many yards to be gained in a game when you’re balancing a run game with a pass game. So again explain to me where all these extra yards will be coming from if Sheduer is in the game when Georgia would be playing with a lead running the ball and killing the clock? My whole point is no matter who is the quarterback the offensive game plan isn’t changing. Georgia isn’t all of a sudden gonna be airing it out up 20 in a fourth quarter. There was very few games Beck was even throwing in the 4th. If shedeur is the QB does Georgia run the ball less? Are they in tighter games so he needs to throw more? Y’all keep bringing up “if Sheduer played for Georgia” like y’all weren’t the fan base screaming “we coming and we got Louie” all offseason. Don’t worry cause according to Colorado fans those G5 linemen y’all brought in the portal and a true freshman is all Deion needed and shedeur will be throwing to the supposed best player in the country so no excuses this year.

I saw the headline. Being from Georgia, I've watched UGA football. I was at the Mizzou game. I didn't know anyone thought Carson Beck was "that guy". lol. I do believe NY would take him over Sanders. That Daniel Jones pick was a head-scratcher for me at the time.

To me this is a ridiculous question. Not only is number two the number one. There's a distance between the next competitive quarterback with the same level of stats. So in my opinion there is no number 23, 4 or maybe even five. That's how much better number two is from this other quarterback. Number. Two was the best quarterback last season. If you don't understand what I'm saying, just ask TCU, Nebraska, Colorado State, UCLA, and virtually every other team at that played. There's only two other quarterbacks that racked up the amount of yardage he threw for. Only a handful of quarterbacks that threw more touchdowns and none of them did it unprotected like he did. There's no other quarterback even close last year or this year. He is the most pro-ready quarterback in the longest time and probably the best quarterback ever for Colorado

After analyzing these sets, it seems that the option style offense wasn't suitable for the WRs and it was evident that to run that last yr #2 needed a cleaner pocket more consistently since the read takes a fraction longer to develop. Having a more Pro offense this yr will highly benefit SS's progression and speed he gets the ball out

Shedeur came into the season with 896 pass attempts under his belt, Beck came into the season with 58. It'll be interesting to see how Beck plays with a full season of experience under his belt. I'm excited to watch both of these guys this fall.

A checkdown pass is when the quarterback attempts to complete a short, accurate pass, typically to a running back or tight end, as a last option when the primary receivers are covered. In Becks case, he never looked at any other receiver, he mostly looked for the easy short pass.

Carson Beck could not beat out a walk on Stetson Bennett. Bennett was lucky not to be an undrafted free agent. He is now no longer in the league. Georgia least talented players have been the quarterbacks. Beck might not even be a top 10 quarterback. All he has to do is not derail the freight train called Georgia.
