Gridiron Insight Podcast | Welcome to ‘THE SIP’
Mississippi was the center of the recruiting world today as Ohio State head coach and reigning national champion Ryan Day visited blue-chip DB Bralan Womack, while Texas A&M’s Mike Elko and Oklahoma’s DeMarco Murray were also in town evaluating top talent. Murray extended offers on behalf of Brent Venables and OU to Deshawn Dillon (WR), Caden Moss (OT), and 2027 RB Mikel Stephen-son of Gridiron Insight co-host Mikel Stephen Sr.
Meanwhile, a big discussion in Mississippi recruiting circles is Ole Miss-committed wide receiver Caleb Cunningham dropping from 5-star status to a Top 50 ranking after opting out of national camps and All-Star games to chase a state basketball championship with his teammates instead. Did this decision hurt his recruiting stock, or does it show his loyalty and competitive fire?
Special guest Jason Watkins of HOF College Football joins the show to break it all down, plus he makes a pitch to Papa Mikel on why OU needs to keep tapping into Mississippi’s elite talent pipeline.
